The existence of forests is essential to human living on earth, but the existence of forest is threatened by deforestations and forest degradations. Forest rehabilitation programs that have been carried out by the government and other parties often fail. Different approaches are needed to improve the success of forest rehabilitation in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the success of community-based forest rehabilitation through the forest incentive and the factors that influence it. The site is in Nagari Paninggahan Solok District and in Nagari Kamang Agam District, West Sumatra. The location is part of Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) projects by CO2BV company from the Netherlands. The research and the data collection were conducted in April 2017. Data types that were used in this research were primary and secondary data. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that community-based forest rehabilitation through an incentive system has been successful to improve the condition of degraded forests in the research site. The indicators of the success of this program were the increase of variety and number of trees, the level of trees density, and the increase of water supply in the surrounding areas of the rehabilitation zones. The success program was affected by several factors, those were: 1) community institutions (farmers group), 2) the clarity of contract and intensive mechanism, 3) mentoring and supervisions, 4) the clarity of benefits for the citizens, 5) community participation, and 6) the communication among stakeholders. It is expected that this research can provide an insight for the government in policy-making to rehabilitate degraded forests. This finding provides information that the government needs to consider the economic aspects of local communities in forest rehabilitation programs. the incentive is one of the important factors that support the success of forest rehabilitation

Institutional community-based mangrove management as an alternative to sustainable management of mangrove forests. This study aims to analyze which factors from the institution most play a role in guiding the community in managing mangrove forest resources in relation to forest management units (FMU). Primary data were collected through interviews conducted semi-structured to 26 respondents selected by the purposive sampling method. The snowball method is used to capture information from key figures. Deepening is considered complete if information saturation has occurred which is marked by repetition of the same information. While secondary data, obtained from various libraries. Of the three models of mangrove management institutions, namely the community institution of Pusong Kapal Village (PKV), the community institution of Pusong Telaga Tujoh Village (PTTV), and the Community Forestry (CF-BM) Bina Mufakat institution where the analysis shows that the community institutions of Pusong Kapal Village (PKV) are more flexible as an alternative form of community-based mangrove management institutions, because this institution is able to adapt to the changing social and environmental conditions that continue to occur, the collaboration of management with the government, and the recognition of community rights in the use of mangrove forests. FMU as the management authority at the site level has guaranteed the upholding of the rights of the PKV community as the manager of mangrove forests so that the bundle of rights and incentives obtained in the management of mangrove resources by PKV communities becomes strong.

The plan to relocate the Indonesian capital as set out in the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) to East Kalimantan Province will start in 2024. During the process, the government also plans to move central civil servants to the new capital. The planned relocation of the capital city impacts all central civil servants located in DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas. This research used secondary data sources as a basis for population and employment projections. From the results obtained, West Java's population will continue to grow during the growth rate decline. The relocation plan will directly impact the West Java population, but the effect tends to be less significant given the small number of central civil servants located in west java compared to West Java's population as a whole. The relocation plan will impact social environment conditions, economic activity, and the environment in surrounding areas.

Title: Perception of Fishermen to Trials of Fishery Electronic Logbook at Bungus Fishing Port, Padang City, West Sumatra ProvinceLogbook fishing is one the instrument which is tested by the government in order to strengthen the supervision of the utilization of marine resources and fisheries. The use of manual logbook used today are many experienced technical problems. The problems are then expected to be resolved through the development of fishing-based electronic logbook (e-logbook) by the Center for Technology Assessment and Enginering of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (P3TKP) since 2011. This paper aims to determine the perception of fishermen toward the use of e-logbook in PPS Bungus. The study was conducted in October 2014 in PPS Bungus. Data collected in the form of primary data obtained through interviews with the help of questionnaires and secondary data such as reports from relevant institutions. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results showed that in general the fishermen / skippers in PPS Bungus agree to using the electronic log book for the next charging of fish catch data. However, it needs to be disseminated and intensive training to master. Electronic appliance log book must also be easy to use and have simple features and understandable by fisherman / skipper. Increased compliance of fishermen in the use of electronic log book could be done through the addition of features that includes useful information for fishermen, such as fishing area information, weather information, and fish price. Port officers role in the plan of development and implementation of electronic log book becomes very important because in the implementation they will be dealing directly with fishermen, so socialization and training activities electronic log book should be given not only to the fishermen but also officers.

Background and purpose: Community-based rehabilitation programs focus on identifying available resources in the community in order to support the patients. Resource Information Centers (RICs) play a vital role in mobilizing these resources by disseminating appropriate information among the stakeholders. However, little has been reported in the literature about the specific roles associated with RICs. In this study, we report the role of RICs as part of a community-based rehabilitation program (CBRP) for a person with disability.Method: A 34-year-old male with left leg above knee amputation was identified during our field visit. The field visit was undertaken by members of a RIC visit to the areas affected by an earthquake in Pakistan in October 2005. The Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with some national and international organizations, had introduced a 3-year program (2007-2010) in which community-based rehabilitation programs were made available for areas affected by earthquakes. The patient was initially referred to another organization that was working on providing rehabilitation service for persons with disability. He was provided with an artificial leg prosthesis for which he had been referred. Results: After receiving the artificial limb, the patient managed to return to his previous occupation which ultimately improved his financial status. Moreover, an improvement in his social integration was observed in the form of his ability to attend social meetings and ceremonies. Conclusion: The patient case we discuss is, we suggest, illustrative of the majority of people with disabilities (PWDs) in countries such as Pakistan are unaware of the exiting services designed to help them to manage their disability. The financial constraints of the PWDs might be overcome by offering guidance on how to access the available resource in their community. Such actions significantly increase the provision of person-centered healthcare.

The central question of this study is: what should be the approach to municipal water provision in Owerri city? Is it through reliance on the government, NGOs, International actors or the private water investors? For the study both primary and secondary data were obtained and analysed. The study found that though most residents of Owerri city rely heavily on commercial borehole owners and water tanker drivers/water peddlers for their daily supplies, the government through its SWA is in control, and there is an absence of a popularly acceptable regulatory framework/water policy. It also found out water projects by international agencies and donors such as World Bank in water service provision in Owerri city which improved supply in the past also led to the emergence of fragmentation in service provision. The study equally found that, water governance and its institutions in the study area which operated under national and local forces is now tending towards the international. The study recommends that government should have a robust collaboration with the private sector and other community based organizations for its initiated tripartite partnership to be successful.

The aim of this study is to formulate a model for developing marine tourism by empowering the potentials of the Mandeh tourism area community. This is because the community involvement in tourism development is still low and still at the level of independent participation. With a community-based approach the community's sense of belonging is expected. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to get detail picture of the experiences of individuals in the development of community-based marine tourism. The determination of informants was obtained by purposive sampling techniques, such as the government and tourism stakeholders, tourists and the coastal communities of the Mandeh tourism area. In order to obtain valid data basedon reality, data triangulation is used, while data analysis techniques used is interactive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the Mandeh region has potential resources that can be developed by empowering the community as implementing actors. The recommended alternative model for developing marine tourism uses the empowerment of community approach and emphasizes full involvement of the community in the process of developing marine tourism, such as diving, swimming, crossing the islands using speedboad transport services, and inviting tourists to see coral reef in the sea.
