The aim of the work is a conceptual representation of the development of the fishery complex (FC) of Russia in the digital economy in accordance with the National Goals and the National Technological Initiative-2035. A new approach is proposed in the form of a "Strategy of an adjacent segment" to the formation of a digital eco-system of the Russian agricultural complex. As related segments, it is proposed to include enterprises and organizations of agriculture and food industry in the FC ecosystem using a single digital platform. Two groups are distinguished as subsystems of the FC: structural divisions and regional systems. The key factors that determine the transformation of the economy of the FC into a full cycle bioeconomy and the main directions of the development of innovations are formulated. On the example of the Kaliningrad region, a block diagram of the digital system of the regional agricultural complex with the inclusion of business structures engaged in the processing of bio-resources is proposed. The necessity of organizing the advanced development of science and education, synchronizing the processes of modernization and digitalization to ensure the transformation of the economy of the FC into a full cycle bioeconomy is shown. The proposed concept of the FC ecosystem contributes to the sustainable development of regions, the solution of strategic tasks of preserving the local natural environment.

Multimodal freight transport in cities is a complex, valid, and vitally important problem. It is more seldom underlined in scientific studies and included in cities’ strategies that devote more attention to passenger transport than freight transport. The increased utilization of multimodal transport matches current transport policy and at the same time, it is one of the most important challenges put before cities striving to achieve sustainable development. In this case, the paper embarks upon the problem of relations between multimodal transport development and the sustainable development of the cities. The objective of the paper is an analysis of the impact of the selected city of the Upper Silesian metropolis on the development of multimodal freight transport and an assessment of the impact of the development of multimodal transport on the sustainable development of the cities of the Upper Silesian metropolis. The authors developed three research questions in order to implement the adopted objective. The process of looking for the answer included four stages. Within the first and second stages, the literature studies and experts’ research allowed for identifying key factors of the multimodal transport development that a city may have an impact on. In the third stage, the research was two-fold and was based on a questionnaire and scenario analysis. Due to the individual character of each of the cities, scenarios were developed for Katowice, being the main economic center of Upper Silesian and Zagłębie Metropolis. As a result of the research, factors have been identified that must be included in a strategy of a city that strives for sustainable development. The last stage of the research focused on the initial concept of the multimodal transport development impact assessment on sustainable development of the cities. Conclusions developed at individual stages allowed for answering the research questions.

The paper explores the key factors affecting the corporate culture formation and development. Recently, the issues of corporate culture, especially in large organizations, trigger the focused attention of a number of management theorists and practitioners. It is a relatively new and insufficiently researched concept, both in this country and abroad. People make the foundation of any company, conversely any organization directs its activities towards a person fostering a multifaceted diversity of organizational culture brought in by each employee. This wide spectrum of variety is shaped by the uniqueness of each individual. Each person’s genetic background is exceptional which stems from people’s diversity of the universe. Ukrainian national individualism specified by the nature of social life plays a dual role in building a corporate culture domain of domestic business structures. Given the equity capital formation under the indirect ownership-based principle of “from individual to collective”, this feature of a national character contributes to corporate philosophy tailoring. The paper suggests a definition of the “corporate culture” concept as a set of values, beliefs, opinions, perceptions, expectations, symbols as well as behavior norms and patterns, traditions, rituals, etc. that have developed in the organization or its divisions during its life cycle and which are accepted by the majority of employees. The system of leadership based on encouraging practices is proved to be most effective. Diligent, initiative performance of management instructions, hard creative work in this case depend on the remuneration policy. Thus, incentives should be meaningful for a performer and feasible for a firm. Insights to a range of theoretical and practical aspects in building employee’s corporate culture are provided. The personnel particular role in facilitating the enterprise performance efficiency is revealed. The paper verifies the need to implement coaching in terms of effective training practices for staff development.

The literature on clinical training lacks identifications of the factors that are most relevant in training programs; accordingly, the main aim of this work is to fill this research gap by assessing which factors that trainers, trainees and psychotherapists consider most relevant in psychotherapy training programs. A secondary aim is to identify whether these factors differ among trainers, trainees and psychotherapists. An ad hoc questionnaire was created and administered at 24 psychotherapy schools from 14 institutions; the sample included 641 trainees, 172 trainers and 218 psychotherapists of various theoretical orientations. The questionnaire included 63 items and used a 5-point Likert scale. An exploratory factor analysis was completed to identify the latent structure. The reliability of the dimensions was then checked. Finally, an analysis of variance and a multivariate analysis of variance were completed to achieve the study’s aims. Four factors emerged from the study’s results: trainers’ relational characteristics, supervision, transmission of clinical know-how, and theoretical background and technical support. All these factors displayed acceptable reliability and internal consistency. Moreover, their relative rankings varied based on the participants’ roles and theoretical backgrounds. This study’s results indicate that the new instrument’s psychometric qualities are acceptable. It thus could be used to develop a new approach to psychotherapy training, as this study’s results regarding trainees’ needs underline the differences between trainees’ perceptions of those needs, as compared to trainers’ and psychotherapists’ perceptions.

The article considers a new approach to air monitoring based on phase-measurement in the SHF range and homodyne frequency conversion. Information about the change in the air composition is obtained by determining the phase progression of the microwave signal when it passes through the environment under study. At the same time, to determine the change in the content of exclusively harmful gases in the air composition, the meteorological component of the environment is subtracted from the information signal. The implementation of the method involves the organization of a monitoring system consisting of several microwave measuring lines synchronized with a monitoring center through a VHF communication channel, which will allow for global and continuous monitoring of changes in the composition of the air environment. The block diagram of the developed system is presented and its individual blocks, the theoretical possibilities of its operation are considered. An experimental study of the influence of meteorological characteristics of the environment on the phase progression of the microwave signal was also carried out.

China’s urbanization has brought benefits to cities, but the price is the deterioration of the urban ecological environment. As a result of long-term urban-rural dualism, China has actively supported cities, and then cities have occupied nature-based rural areas. Even though China has been aware of the ecological deterioration and has issued rural ecological policies, there is still the existing contradiction between urban expansion and rural protection development. China’s future planning will place greater emphasis on rural areas, and people have just entered the exploration phase. In this regard, the theory of “the urban-rural continuum” proposed by an American anthropologist William Skinner is extended to the field of architecture and planning to explore a sustainable method of urban-rural development. It offers a spatial model to describe China’s traditional social structure, from villages to cities, combined by the community of a standard market town.  It underlies a polycentric model with a communal structure that can further balance the urban-rural relationships and realize the sustainable development in the countryside. Keywords: the urban-rural continuum, green city, community, sustainable planning, rural heritage

Currently, the digital economy contributes decisively to an increase in competitiveness, especially as a digital transformation involves migrating to new technological models where digital marketing is a key part of growth and user loyalty strategies. Internet and Digital Marketing have become important factors in campaigns, which attract and retain Internet users. This study aims to identify the main ways in which users can be gained and retained by using Digital Marketing. The Delphi method with in-depth interviews was the methodology used in this study. The results of the research show the most important actions for achieving user recruitment and loyalty with Digital Marketing from the opinions of consulted experts. The limitations of this study are those related to the number of experts included in the study, and the number of research papers consulted in the literature review. The literature review and the results of this research are used to propose new solid research with a consolidated critical methodology. This research deals with a new approach that will optimize web technologies for the evolution of user trends, and therefore, will be of academic and professional use for marketing managers and web solution developers. The conclusions of the investigation show the key factors, discarding others that do not affect the optimization of conversions in B2C businesses such as the duration of the session and the rebound percentage. Likewise, the results of the research identify the specific actions that must be carried out to attract and retain users in B2C companies that use the Digital Marketing ecosystem on the Internet. The requirements for companies that wish to implement a model to optimize conversions using the current digital economy are also shown.

Food waste is emerging as a global issue and has been recognised in the Sustainable Development Goals with a specific target to halve per capita global food waste at consumer levels and reduce food losses by 2030. Research on food waste has been neglected particularly in the aviation sector. The International Air Transport Association reported that 5.7 million tonnes of cabin waste was generated on airlines, up to 80.5% of which was leftover food and beverages. The exploration of passengers’ food wasting aims to provide insights for tackling the airline food waste problem. To address this issue, this research investigated the in-flight catering experience of 19 passengers from 21 full-service flights. Qualitative research techniques have been applied to analyse passengers’ food-wasting behaviour by collecting participant-produced photographs and completed questionnaires concerning food-related behaviour. This research identified key factors associated with passengers’ food wasting behaviour by adopting Design for Sustainable Behaviour approaches. Four types of factors were found to influence onboard passenger waste, these were normative, habitual, intentional and situational factors. This research indicates that behavioural change interventions need to incorporate the power of social norms to prevent food waste.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyze the key influencing factors which affect the performance of M & A and the key influencing factors by establishing grey relational sequence model. The results can not only perfect the current existing theoretical system, but also provide theoretical guide for M & A practice. Design/methodology/approach – First of all, this paper analyzes the M & A performance through the literature reviews, and then establishes the grey model about M & A performance from three influencing factors: profitability, operational and development capacity to analyze its key influencing factors which affect M & A performance. Furthermore, the key factors influencing of M & A performance are analyzed, the results can be obtained through the analysis of the grey relative degree based on six years’ data of state-owned enterprises. Findings – In this paper, some results can be found that ownership restriction and executive compensation can significantly affect corporate profitability and operation ability. M & A and institutional investors can be affected greater from the perspective of development ability and profitability. In general, enterprise scale has little affect on the performance after M & A. Practical implications – With the sustainable development of economic globalization, M & A has become an important strategy for the rapid growth of the enterprise, enlargement market and brand effect. But the performance after M & A in most enterprises does not improve. As the pillar of the national economy, state-owned enterprises have an important impact on China’s economic development and urgently need to be reformed. Originality/value – This paper analyzes the key factors through establishing grey relative sequence model to analyze the correlation of M & A performance and influencing factors, and finds key influencing factors which affect the performance of M & A. The conclusion can provide policy guidance for the improvement of M & A performance in the future.

With a growing demand for crop products in China, a great deal of local resources and industrial inputs are consumed including agricultural machineries, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and energies, which results in many environmental issues such as resource depletion, water pollution, soil erosion and contamination, and CO2 emissions. Thus, this study evaluated the trend of sustainability of China’s crop production from 1997 to 2016 in terms of emergy and further explored the driving forces using decomposition analysis methods. The results showed that the total emergy used (U) increased by 50% from 7.82 × 1023 in 1997 to 1.17 × 1024 solar emergy Joule (sej) in 2016. Meanwhile, the values of the emergy sustainability index (ESI) were all smaller than one with a declining trend year by year, indicating that China’s crop production system is undergoing an unsustainable development pattern. From the results of the ESI decomposition, the renewable resource factor (R/GDP) and land use factor (L/A) are two key factors impeding the sustainable development of the crop production system. Therefore, the increased capacity of renewable resources and enough labor forces engaged in crop production will be the key strategies for its sustainable development.
