The aim of the Indonesian Government Regulation No 14/2014 is to assist the national zakat agency - BAZNAS in zakat collection by forming zakat collector units in government institutions such as in higher learning institutions’ campuses. The Zakat Collector Unit of Amil Zakat Institution of Bogor Agricultural University (LAZ IPB) has been established for this reason in 2003, however, despite being in existence for quite a while, its development has been rather slow. The aim of this study is to explore the potential issues on income zakat and determine factors affecting the employees to pay income zakat using the service of LAZ IPB. Data collection was conducted during the period from 1stApril 2014 to 7thJune 2014. In methodology, the study adopted the Logistic regression technique to analyze the factors affecting the employees to pay zakat with LAZ IPB. The findings showed that two factors, namely service and income level were significant in influencing the employees to pay their income zakat with LAZ IPB. Demographic factors such as occupation and gender are also affecting the preference of employees to pay zakat in LAZ IPB.

The length of time a student completes the study period is a measure of the student's achievement and the success of his study program. Because the duration of the study period is quite influential on the quality of a study program and the learning process in it, it is necessary to do a more in-depth study of the factors that influence the duration of student studies. This study aims to model the factors that influence the length of the study period of students using ordinal logistic regression. These factors are the student's GPA and gender. Data on the length of study, GPA and gender were taken for students of the Mathematics Education Department, IKIP Mataram, who graduated in 2017 and 2018. The results of the study showed that the two factors had a significant effect on the length of the study period.

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between external factors on the achievement of assessment tests and gender of students in Arabic writing skills in Malaysian Institutions of Higher Learning. A total of 140 respondents from four Malaysian higher learning institutions (MHLI) were selected, namely Sultan Zainal Abidin University (90 respondents), International Islamic University College of Selangor (25 respondents), Sultan Ahmad Shah Islamic University College, Pahang (9 respondents), and Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic College (16 respondents) as the study sample. The data obtained were analysed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 22.0 software. Inferential analysis method, namely Pearson correlation was used to find the relationship between two different study variables, namely dependent variables and independent variables. The findings showed that there was no significant relationship between external factors on Arabic writing skills based on assessment tests. However, this relationship was found to be significant based on gender of students. This was because the correlation between external factors with student achievement test scores was (r = - 0.062, n = 140, p = 0.463), while the correlation between external factors on gender of students was (r = 0.181, n = 140, p = 0.032). This finding indicates that the relationship between external factors with the assessment test was irrelevant in affecting Arabic writing skills, and was not significant. However, the researchers found that external factors can significantly affect the Arabic writing skills among MHLI students based on gender through the analysis of the study obtained.

The Directorate General of Taxation has the authority to collect data and information related to taxation from agencies, institutions, associations, and other parties (ILAP) through Government Regulation No. 31 of 2012. Data and information collected from the ILAP, including transaction, identity, licensing, and non-transactional data, are used to build tax databases and explore potential taxation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of data and information collected in the context of taxation and investigate the factors that support and inhibit the implementation by using the variable implementation of the hybrid policy model. This work is qualitative research with a post-positivist approach. Data collection was done by conducting in-depth interviews and literature reviews. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, presentation, conclusions, and verification. The study showed that the implementation of data collection and information related to taxation has helped the Directorate General of Taxation build a tax database and taxpayer profile. However, there are still obstacles, such as the unavailability of an information system to monitor data use and barriers in incomplete data received. The inhibiting factors affecting implementation are the non-target setting of policy objectives and standards, lack of resources, and inadequate communication and coordination. The factors that support the implementation of this policy are the high motivation of policy implementers, the active role of policy implementers, and the adaptability of implementers.

Currently, higher learning institutions (HLIs) are facing their most challenging problem in inefficient information management. The knowledge management system (KMS) application calls for providing several benefits to lecturers and students, producing daily information, documenting records for evidence of a transaction, and eventually improving the decision-making process. Knowledge management can be coupled with fuzzy logic to deal with imprecision and uncertainty of data in a KMS. The ICT dynamic development has shifted the HLI operations from manual to electronic-based handling of related information. KMS is one of the systems that are of significant consideration in this regard. Nevertheless, such a system has not been extensively adopted as expected due to users’ rejection of its use. In the present paper, the factors affecting the decision to adopt/reject KMS are highlighted. The study is qualitative and entails a critical review of the related literature concerning the topic, backed by interviews. KMS experts working with highly reputable HLI were interviewed. A total of 11 factors were focused on in light of their effect on the decision to adopt/reject KMS, as argued by the technological adoption theories and literature review. All the factors were validated and placed in ranks by the experts. From the results, a novel conceptual framework of KMS adoption was developed for Libyan HLIs to bring about technology adoption and improved decision-making.
