Along with the development of the internet which has followed the rapid advances in technological development, people need fast and efficient payments due to the increasing number of financial transactions. Internet banking is one of the digital banking of the bank products that facilitate financial transactions. However, the use of internet banking cannot be separated from operational risks that will occur. As one of bank risks, operational risk plays an important role toward the im-plementation of digital banking. Hence, it is important to study the customer percep-tion on banks operational risk in providing digital banking services. The population in the study were customers of Bank Central Asia and Bank Rakyat Indonesia who used internet banking services. The samples taken in this study were 100 respon-dents from Bank Central Asia and 100 respondents from Bank Rakyat Indonesia in the area and the technique used was purposive sampling. The analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. This analysis included the average differ-ence test, validity test, and reliability test. It was processed using the SPSS program version 20. The findings showed that both banks had low operational risks according to their surveyed customers. Although BCA was perceived to have lower operational risks than BRI, some areas such as system risks needed more attention.

The analyses used in this survey were crosstabs test, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, correlation test, and regression test. The findings revealed that awareness factor has a positive and significant effect on online banking, security & trust assurance showed a negative and insignificant effect on online banking service, innovative factor displayed a negative and insignificant effect on online banking service, and customer service assurance revealed positive but has insignificant impact on online banking service. The application of industry 4.0 in banking presents many challenges, with several operational risks related to downtime and timeout services due to system failures. One of the operational risk management steps is to estimate the value of the maximum potential losses. The purpose of this study is to estimate the maximum potential losses for digital banking transaction risks. The method used for estimating risks is the EVaR method. There are several steps in this study. The first step is to resample the data using MEBoot. This process is a simulation of the operational risk loss data of digital banking. Next, the threshold value is determined to obtain the extreme data value. Then, a Kolmogorov–Smirnov test is conducted to fit the data with the GPD. Afterward, the GPD parameter is estimated. Then, EVaR is calculated using a portfolio approach to obtain a combination of risk values as maximum potential losses. The analysis results show that the maximum potential loss is IDR144,357,528,750.94. The research results imply that the banks need to pay attention to the maximum potential losses of digital financial transactions as a reference for risk management. Therefore, banks can anticipate the adequacy of reserve funds for these potential risks.

This paper examines the development of operational risk management (ORM) in a financial organization, focusing in particular on the role of IT in institutionalizing the new regime. Through an interpretive case study in a major US financial institution, the paper uses Giddens’ structuration theory to examine how it adjusts to the demands of protecting itself against new operational risks. The discussion and results of our study are expressed in three propositions: (1) the regulatory context and technological development affect the shape and the outcome of ORM; (2) implementing ORM is a process of reflexive monitoring and transforming organizational practices in a financial institution; (3) the role of IT in ORM is contingent on the extant organizational structure and on the choice of risk management approach.

E-banking has become one of the most popular methods that has experienced considerably great attention in the financial services studies in the last few years. E-banking enables customers of the bank to conduct a range of financial services via the internet portal. It provides a solution in driving formal banking services uptake in the most cost-effective way, it has great benefits to both the customers as well as the banks i.e. convenience, cost reduction, ease and is an effective marketing tool. This research was conducted to determine the underlying factors that drive the adoption of e-banking services based on the UTAUT model and to recommend solutions that will address the identified underlying factors. A baseline study involving 313 respondents was undertaken with the sample consisting of Clients from the top five (5) banks in Zambia with the best digital capabilities. Questionnaires were administered to these Clients through purposive sampling to get information on their views on Internet banking services. Data was analysed using SPSS descriptive analysis. The results of the study revealed that the UTAUT factors; performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), facilitating conditions (FC) and behaviour intention (BI) have a significant impact in the adoption of e-banking services. Social influence (SI) was non-significant to the user’s intention to adopt e banking services.

The study aims to investigate threats that might occur in diversification management, operational risks of banking services in the process of digitalization, as well as the impact on customers and banks. The right choice of a risk management model for a bank plays an important role in the sustainable development of competitiveness and the transformation of banking activities in the future. This work assesses bank risks and determines information risks in relation to the total capital of Santander Bank of Spain. The authors adapted an operational risk management (ORM) model to minimize the risks of the bank’s digitalization and upcoming operational risks. The ratio of the total operational risk to the total bank’s capital was 0.65%, which is below the permissible minimum value and is acceptable. Based on this indicator, diversification of business risks can be applied. As a result of the study, the total value of operational risks was calculated and the acceptability of this indicator to the capital of Santander Bank was assessed, which allowed the authors to assess whether the value was critical. In addition, it was also revealed that the main external risk of Santander Bank in 2018 was fraud in the use of online payments. The results might help to more effectively evaluate insurance payments for identified operational risks and effectively make decisions and optimize reporting documents of banks.

Sugar apple, atemoya and soursop are tropical fruits very prized for their pleasant, aromatic and distinctive flavor. In this work, the fresh fruits pulps had high nutritional values, since they contain significant levels of carbohydrates. The results for the analysis of chemical composition of the fresh fruits pulps obtained for sugar apple, atemoya and soursop were respectively: moisture (79.65, 77.06 and 85.30 g.100 g-1), carbohydrates (20.52, 22.01 and 13.83 g.100 g-1), total sugars (19.57, 21.93 and 10.12 g.100 g-1) and soluble solids (22.00, 25.10 and 12.83 ºBrix). With the aim of processing the pulps of ripe fruits to add value to these fruits, jams have been developed. The results for the chemical composition analysis of sugar apple, atemoya and soursop jams were respectively: moisture (26.23, 27.94 and 21.52 g.100 g-1), carbohydrates (73.05, 71.44 and 77.83 g.100 g-1), pH (3.41, 3.34 and 3.41) and soluble solids (63.00, 65.00 and 68.60 ºBrix). The jams were subjected to Quantitative Descriptive Analysis. A total of 12 trained panelists evaluated the attributes flavor, consistency, appearance and overall acceptability of the jams on a 9-point hedonic scale. Based on sensory evaluation, jams presented a good overall acceptability and atemoya jam was the most preferred by the panelists.

Mobile banking is known as one of the latest as well as promising application of mobile commerce with great mobility and flexibility for the completion of financial transactions with the help of mobile communication devices. In today’s perspective, electronic banking, internet banking and mobile banking are considered as the buzzword as 4.5 billion mobile cellular subscriptions worldwide is estimated and mobile network has the capability to instantaneously offer mobile banking to 61% of total population. For both developed and developing countries the increase of adoption rate in Mobile banking shows the strong potential rate of growth. In today’s perspective adoption decision of consumers may be influenced by several factors. A quantitative approach has been taken to measure the determinants and anticipate their correlation through convenient sampling by the statistical analysis of ANOVA and Regression Analysis. The authors have also gone through seven hypothesis test. For this paper six major determinates have been explored in order to understand the consumer’s adoption process.
