Abstract The author seeks an answer to the question whether a higher intensity of tourism movement is connected with a higher share of tourism in the economy in selected tropical island territories. With the use of the Spearman correlation coefficient, the existence of the average positive correlation between the intensity of tourism movement and the share of tourism in the economy has been determined. In the second part of paper, the author looks at the conditions which affect the role of tourism in the economy in proportion to the intensity of tourism movement. For this purpose, the Chi-square test and detailed case studies of chosen tropical islands are discussed.

Every investor has a unique choice of investment based on customized needs and goals. Each investment has its characteristics. This study investigates the association between socio-demographic characteristics of individual investors and the objectives of the investments. Employing Pearson’s chi-square test with 125 respondents from securities companies in Indonesia, we suggest that the decision of investors in investing their money depends on the association between sociodemographic characteristics and the characteristics of investments' goals. The results of this study can benefit both individual investors and securities firms. For individual investors, this study can be a guideline for them to make an investment decision by considering an investment objective that suits them the most. While for the securities companies, they can market their products to investors appropriately by looking into the demographic factors of the investors and indirectly know the investors’ investments preference. More, the government needs to enhance the infrastructure of the financial sector in order to increase individuals participation in the sector

Abstract The goal of this paper is to determine the level of patient satisfaction with health care among adults in the Republic of Serbia and to analyze the correlation between the satisfaction and socio-demographic characteristics of the interviewees. The paper is based on the data provided by the National health survey of the Republic of Serbia. For the purposes of this paper, we used data on age and household of the people aged 19 and more. By eliminating the interviewees who were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with the health care services, we obtained the sample containing 18.206 interviewees. Demographic characteristics and well-being index represented independent variables in the research. Dependent variable of the patient satisfaction was transformed into a binary variable by categorizing satisfied and very satisfied interviewees into one group and by placing dissatisfied and very dissatisfied interviewees into group of dissatisfied patients. The connection between satisfaction and predictors was examined using Chi-Square test and logistic regression. The percentage of the satisfied patients with health care was 72.9%. The satisfaction level was directly connected to age, gender, marital status, employment, region the interviewee comes from and well-being index. Patients who were more satisfied included older people, women, as well as married people, the unemployed and those living in the cities. Increasing human impact in mountain areas may constitute a challenge to national park authorities. Therefore, interdisciplinary research is important in order to address the various aspects of the functioning of protected areas. The purpose of the present study was to analyze perceptions of infrastructure and tourist traffic in the Tatra Mountains by tourist experts. Data were collected using the diagnostic survey method and in-depth interviews with experts. Statistical analysis included the use of the U-Mann-Whitney Test and the nonparametric Chi Square Test. Research has shown differences in the way both local transportation and restaurant services are viewed in the Polish and Slovakian parts of Tatras. Experts indicate that the main reason for increasing tourist traffic is that the Tatras are in fashion, while the key problem is excess litter generation.
