The growth of software demand has caused more competition among customers who expect faster changes and better quality in the software products delivered. The need to satisfy the continuous requirements of the market, the need to keep the quality of products and services, as well as the need to improve their processes become a difficult task for organizations. DevOps arises to handle this continuous change because it addresses the reduction of the gap between development and operation. However, the influence of this new paradigm in organizations becomes a big challenge, mainly related to a cultural change. If the change of culture is not properly implemented, it could impact a team with negative consequences. In this context, there is no specific guidance that helps organizations with their implementation. Based on the lack of guidance, this paper presents the Reinforced DevOps Guidance, which aims to help teams to achieve an evolution of their software development, software delivery, and project management processes toward a proper DevOps implementation. The guidance uses a web platform that allows a dynamic implementation. That way helps teams to understand the set of tasks to be followed and the impact of their implementation on their current organizations. This paper shows both an overview of the guidance, highlighting the web platform, and its application in a very small entity (VSE). The results show that the use of the guidance: provides support toward addressing the effort in VSEs; gives the information of the technology, processes, and teams aspects that should be improved; and allows the cultural change in a pace supported by VSEs.

Improving the quality of products, services and processes is currently very important for building of the competitiveness of businesses on the markets. The aim of this paper was to propose a framework standardized model for measuring and evaluating of processes` performance in quality management for companies providing services. An empirical study in practice of Slovak businesses preceded the design of this model. The level of understanding and the use of methods and tools for measuring and evaluating of processes performance in the area of quality were mapped through a questionnaire survey. This model reflects a run of single processes, activities and sequences that are necessary to be solved in the frame of implementation and improvement of quality in businesses providing services, through the use of appropriate methods and tools. It also captures the interaction of the customer in the process of service providing, the impact of customer on the quality of service and the evaluation of customers` satisfaction.© 2015 The Authors. Digital technologies, ubiquitous in our daily life, have radically changed the way we work, communicate, and consume in a short period of time. They affect all components of quality of life: well-being, work, health, education, social connections, environmental quality, the ability to participate and govern civil society, and so on. Digital transformation creates both opportunities and serious risks to the well-being of people. Researchers and statistical agencies around the world are facing a major challenge to develop new tools to analyze the impact of digital transformation on the well-being of the population. The risks are very diverse in nature and it is very difficult to identify the key factor. All researchers conclude that secure digital technologies significantly improve the lives of those who have the skills to use them and pose a serious risk of inequality for society, as they introduce a digital divide between those who have the skills to use them and those who do not. In the article, the author examines the risks created by digital technologies for some components of the quality of life (digital component of the quality of life), which are six main components: the digital quality of the population, providing the population with digital benefits, the labor market in the digital economy, the impact of digitalization on the social sphere, state electronic services for the population and the security of information activities. The study was carried out on the basis of the available statistical base and the results of research by scientists from different countries of the world. The risks of the digital economy cannot be ignored when pursuing state social policy. Attention is paid to government regulation aimed at reducing the negative consequences of digitalization through the prism of national, federal projects and other events.

The study examined mixtures obtained from ready pyrotechnic articles available on the market in Poland. Samples were taken from various products with different performance characteristics, i.e. pyrotechnic batteries, firecrackers, volcanoes, as well as smoke candles, rockets (including rocket engines), and cold fires. These are the product categories most frequently used by users. The research allowed to determine gaseous combustion products and showed their life cycle in the environment. A comparative analysis of selected pyrotechnic mixtures was carried out in terms of their impact on the climate change of gas products. Using the ICT-Thermodynamic Code program, gaseous combustion products were estimated and the life cycle was analysed using the SimaPro program. Determining the impact on the environment (upon the basis of Ecoindicator 99) allowed to know the scale of the problem and set the direction of development of the pyrotechnic industry, so that importers could compete not only with the price and quality of products offered, but also tried to reduce the potential impact on the environment.

AbstractAlthough the quality of a process affects the quality of the end product, there is currently an insignificant amount of knowledge about the quality of project management (PM) processes that directly affect the quality of the delivered product (constructed building). This study presents a proposal for modeling the impact of the quality of the PM process on the quality of the constructed building. The quality of the PM process is represented by the main quality factors and product quality indicators. It presents the results of the interviews that were conducted and study cases that were analyzed in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a variety of project participants (with different managerial perspectives) in terms of the indicators of quality of the delivered product. All participants, regardless of managerial perspective, believe that the most important indicator of the quality of products for each phase of the project is “customer satisfaction in the end phase”, the measurement of which is different for each project phase that is presented. The results of the factor analysis of the definition and the planning phases show that 11 variables, namely, the quality factors of the PM process, can be grouped into three new factors, which is described as 66.61% (77.046%) of the basic set of variables.

The article examines one of the actual problems of the theory and practice of the logistics systems functioning related to the asymmetry of information in the transport services market. Assessing the level of asymmetry in logistics systems is of fundamental importance to increase the competitiveness of relevant systems. New approach formulated herein estimates the logistics systems asymmetry by taking into account information asymmetry about the quality of transport products, as well as information asymmetry about the quality of products within the boundaries of the corresponding supply chain. This approach allows to take into account its potential capabilities and increase functional stability in the process of logistics systems design.

The article is devoted to the study of coal mining industry problems in a region and environmental and economic damage caused by its activities. It is found that the intensive development of coal mining industry is accompanied by negative environmental consequences associated with the impact on social and economic indicators of a region and the quality of life of the population. The methodology for analysis and evaluation of environmental and economic damage to a regional economy based on the loss of gross regional product (GRP) and associated with the loss of working time due to the incidence of the population, determined by the level of environmental pollution, was developed. The developed methodology solves the problem of evaluating the impact of environmental components not only on environmental and economic damage, characterized by GRP losses, but also on the quality of life of the population. In addition, the optimization nature of the presented model allows finding the economic potential of producers and the objective efficiency of enterprises, which will make it possible to compensate for damage caused by environmental pollution that is adequate to the negative consequences of their activities.

The Italian Parliament has excluded hospital physicians from the application of the European Work Time Directive (EWTD), which imposes a maximum workweek of 48 h and compulsory resting periods. This resulted in extended and excessive work time for the category. This paper is aimed at evaluating the impact of this legislation gap, by assessing the presence of excessive work-related stress and risk for burnout syndrome among Italian physicians working in public hospitals. This observational study is based on an on-line survey conducted on a sample of 1925 Italian doctors (covering a wide range of age, work experience and contractual positions) from October 2014 to February 2015. The questionnaire included 30 questions concerning their personal and professional life (<em>e.g</em>., assessment of workloads, number of uncomfortable or extra shifts, unused days-off, <em>etc</em>.). On the basis of the results, it can be inferred that the average Italian doctor working in public hospitals is under considerable stress at work with negative consequences on his health. He is exposed to high risk of suffering from sleep disorders and cardiovascular diseases (due to the lack of time for private practice and eating regular meals). Overall, his perception is that his job worsens his quality of life. This study shows the relevance of the risk of burnout among Italian physicians employed in public hospitals due to severe workload and work conditions. The resulting impact on the quality of care and the significant cost involved - both in human and economic terms - calls for significant emergency measures by the Italian health work organization. An important increase and prolonged working time is associated with a worsening of the objective cognitive performance and an increase of clinical risk, but also to an increased risk of diseases for operators and of the burnout syndrome. Our survey shows that lack of application of the EWTD has adverse effects on the quality of life and performance of Italian doctors. Failure to respond by all Italian doctors is the greatest limitation of our survey.
