As wireless broadband technology has become very popular, the introduction of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) based on IEEE 802.16 standard has increased the demand for wireless broadband access in the fixed and the mobile devices. This development makes wireless security a very serious concern. Even though the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) has been popularly used for protection in WiMAX applications, still WiMAX is exposed to various classes of wireless attack, such as interception, fabrication, modification, and reply attacks. The complexity of AES also produces high power consumption, long processing time, and large memory. Hence, an alternative cryptography algorithm that has a lower power consumption, faster and smaller memory, is studied to replace the existing AES. A Software Defined Radio (SDR) is proposed as a different way of proving the performance of the cryptography algorithm in real environments because it can be reprogrammed, which leads to design cost and time reductions.

The moisture absorption characteristic of the humidity-controlled materials at different relative humidity was studied by experiment and the moisture equilibrium content under different humidity condition was obtained. At the same time, the humidity-controlled composite building blocks in greenhouse were successfully developed. The experiment of the humidity-controlled composite building blocks shows that the humidity-controlled composite building blocks can realize the humidity control without the high power consumption, operation inconvenience or polluted the environment etc. compared with the traditional dehumidification method. The humidity-controlled composite building blocks in greenhouse have the very good application prospects.

Power consumption is becoming an increasingly important aspect of circuit design. High power consumption can lead to high machine temperature, short battery life which makes laptop electronics difficult to be widely used. IEEE 1801 Unified Power Format (UPF) is designed to express power intent for electronic systems and components .This paper first introduces the power principles, puts forward the approaches to reduce power consumption according to UPF, and then demonstrates the Synopsys design flow based on UPF, finally gives the power report and makes a conclusion.

The high power consumption of conventional street lighting systems, and the consequences on environmental ecosystem due to continuous turning ON of light, have led researchers to seek solutions to this problem. LED light dimming system has been presented in many studies using computerized systems with or without wireless monitoring facility. The demerits of these systems include complexity, high cost and unfixed data transfer speed. This paper proposes to reduce power consumption of street lighting through a decentralized light dimming system that is based on Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). This is in addition to replacing conventional high power lamps with lower power LED lamps. The dimming control circuit of this system is fixed on each pole and controlled individually resulting in faster and more reliable response. The proposed system uses the available infrastructure and is suitable for small or main streets regardless of the number of light poles. It is also flexible in its coverage distance due to the freedom of motion detector selection. The advantages of using LED lighting on the environment as compared to conventional lighting are explained. Simulations reveal the effectiveness of the proposed system on energy saving and on the environment.

This paper presents a novel under-actuated (UA) finger with first coupled and secondly self-adaptive (COSA) grasping mode. COSA fingers can adaptively grasp objects with different sizes and shapes while its motions during grasping are anthropopathic. Until now there are two COSA mechanisms available and they are both direct parallel combinations of coupled mechanism and self-adaptive mechanism. These kind of direct combinations lead to complex mechanical structure and high power consumption. This paper proposes a novel single-route transmission mechanism for COSA grasping mode, S-coupled and directly self-adaptive (CDSA) mechanism for short. Compared with available COSA mechanisms, the S-CDSA mechanism has simpler structure and higher grasping force. Design of 2-joint S-CDSA finger is introduced in this paper. Force analysis for 2-joint S-CDSA finger is given. Furthermore, a 2-joint S-CDSA finger is manufactured. The force analysis and experimental results show that the novel S-CDSA mechanism is effective.

In E-experiments, the network servers often used to manage experimental plants centrally require high power consumption. In order to reduce such power consumption, cost and size, this paper presents a portable embedded web controller (PEWC) combining embedded technology with Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP (LAMP), which is the solution stack most widely used globally in Web development. Instead of using servers, the PEWC is used to build a distributed E-experiment system that enables users to do remote control through web pages online. Experimental results show that this system successfully controls robot-arm systems remotely and reduces power consumption by 99%, cost by 90% and size by 95%.

Aiming at the problems of high-power consumption and insufficient kneading and cutting of roughage in the total mixed ration mixer. In this paper, licorice stems were taken as experimental objects, the horizontal twin-shaft TMR mixer was used to carry out the experimental study. It should be as brief as possible and concise. Through the kneading and cutting process power analysis, determine the influencing factors of kneading and cutting power consumption. The auger speed, processing time and blade type were taken as experimental factors, with standard straw length rate and power consumption as indicators, Box–Behnken test with three factors and three levels was carried out, analysis of variance was performed on the test results, the results show that the significant effect of each factor on the standard grass length is processing time, blade type and auger speed in descending order. The significance of the influence on power consumption from large to small is auger speed, processing time and blade type. The response surface analysis and parameter optimization were carried out, the results show that the auger speed is 20 r/min, the processing time is 29 min, and the blade type is quincunx blade. At this time, the standard straw length was 82.634%; Power consumption 4525.815 kJ, TMR mixer performance reached the best. The results can provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent research and development of TMR mixer.

In this paper we propose double gate transistor i.e. FINFETS circuits. It is the substitute of bulk CMOS that mean without any compromise in fabrication process except one or two changes. Actually bulk CMOS suffers high power consumption and high leakage currents .so we implement a various novel circuits i.e FINFETS logic design style in 32nm technology and analyzing various parameters like power dissipation, delay, frequency are observed in this paper. In here we notice that less power consumption in FINFETS when compared to ordinary bulk CMOS. We also check the other submicron technology compared to that this submicron technology got less power consumption.
