The reason for going ahead with a new information system (IS) development can come from many sources. A new business requirement may force an organization to develop a new IS. An existing IS may be coming to the end of its usefulness. The firm may decide to either update its existing system or develop a completely new system.

In order to reduce risks and increase the speed of new information technology (IT) product or service development as well as to satisfy customers’ demand, end users’ involvement has become one of the most important issues. The chapter aims at the presentation of the user role in information system development and the activities of prosumers in e-learning. The first part of the chapter covers literature review referring to studies on end users’ involvement in the information system (IS) development process. In the second part of the chapter the opportunities of prosumption development on the Internet are discussed. Particularly, the author focuses on e-learning purposes development and IT-supported communication among e-learners. The third part of the chapter covers a proposal of the architecture model as well as a discussion on methods of information system design for the prosumption development.

Abstract: In this growing era of globalization, information systems are very important and important in helping business processes, in the near future that will make the competition in the business process will be more violent and strict. Therefore, the use of information technology and the design of application programming using PHP as server side programing and MySQl as its database especially regarding bus departure and bus ticket reservation at PO.NPM company of bukittinggi city. Problems faced by this company is the problem of data redundancy ticket booking is a lot of data booking tickets are not available, and not presented in sequence and repeatedly resulting in difficulties when manipulating, altering, and delete data.     In the end the authors hope with the creation of a new information system, can help the process of booking tickets and done more easily, without the passengers concerned must come directly to P0.NPM with the new system design will facilitate the company and bus visitors.

As the information and communications technology becomes more advanced, various new information and education systems are implemented in universities. Hence, universities often conduct workshops to introduce on how to use the new systems. In this respect, one challenge might be faced by universities is how a workshop can be conducted effectively to ensure that participants master the new teaching information systems. Thus, this paper aims to share (i) the ways of an instructor introducing a new system, and (ii) the experiences of participants to learn a new system in the workshop. A total of 13 participants attended the workshop, but only 9 of them voluntarily filled in the questionnaire form. The result shows that participants agreed that the workshop content is useful for them and they learned how to use the new system.

This chapter explains knowledge management’s (KM) role for competitive advantage as a means of new business requirement in the knowledge-based society. It argues that KM, combined with new information technologies, determines new approaches of business strategy, knowledge leadership, culture, management content, organizational structure, technology and innovation, which are key enablers for competitive advantage. In addition, these are discussed in the case of a virtual organization (Network of Excellence) for building the knowledge sharing culture, based on interaction of the management functions and stages of the knowledge creation process. Furthermore, the authors hope that understanding the main issues and trends of KM as an essential element of business integration for obtaining a considerable competitive advantage will not only inform researchers but also assist them in developing new approaches for attending efficiency in the new global virtual organizations.

The perceived likelihood that a new system will be able to support the transaction processing and decision-making needs of an organization can enhance the confidence in an information system. The objective of this paper is to examine antecedent constructs (training, communication, top management support, and change management) that can enhance or diminish a user's confidence in a new information system for a large financial services organization, as it is phased in over time. Using structural equation modeling techniques, the relationships of these antecedents to confidence are analyzed. The structural model fits the data well and the model explains approximately 80 percent of the variance of confidence. In general, these antecedents affect confidence in the new system. We further find that change management, during the implementation process, partially mediates the effect of the other three antecedents and that this mediating effect changes significantly between groups of implementers.

In this paper an approach is presented to the segmented development to the information system in the conditions of limited competence of the management structures and the real system's started reforms - transition. A well set segment of the information system (IS) may lead to important economic effects in spite of a high level of stochastic and the poorly arranged real system. There by, the implementation of the new information system should not be treated as a result but as a necessary precondition and the way of the system's successful transition. The paper consist of five parts: in the first introductory part the foundation of the problem is presented, in the second part consists of the situation analysis. In the third part the methodological approach and the complexity of the project is development is presented, in the fourth part thought known information instrument a logistic specification of the system is presented with the aim to specify the economic effect's of the segmented approach through the presentation of users functions. The final fifth part is dedicated to the conclusions.

The article discusses ways to obtain information about risk factors and the health status of the population. The article describes a new information system «labor Medicine», which allows to organize the collection of a wide range of data for further analysis and application in the activities of various Executive authorities, public organizations, foundations, legal entities and citizens. It is proposed to improve this system by expanding the types of information collected, creating a passport for health promotion organizations, as well as integration with systems that are being implemented in the Russian Federation for managing the health of the working-age population in the context of state policy in the field of Informatization.

The paper concentrates on researching the possibilities of using modern information technologies in animal production in order to monitor and identify behavior and well-being of cows. Having in mind the challenges related to managing dairy herds, and economic pressure put on breeders (as well as the broadly defined well-being of animals), an endeavor was made to create a new method, which would be competitive in comparison with the existing solutions. The proposed method of collecting data and data processing with beacon devices as well as data warehouse, allows—according to the authors—a more complete identification of behaviors and physiological condition of a dairy herd. It is also worth pointing out that this method is competitive in terms of price. By virtue of the multitude of data that were collected, a decision was made to resign from processing data on a local computer and use a cloud compute engine instead. The presented information system creates a sequence of components, which were subject to verification both on the level of creating and conducting research. Research results that were received were then compared with knowledge presented in the literature. A vital element of validation of the aforementioned methodology was comparing results that were achieved in the course of research work with the system making use of pedometer. The aim of the authors was to develop a new information technology solution, as well as a method based on beacons, which are rather universal devices, with the use of data warehouses, allowing the identification of behavior and physiological state of milk cattle, the method which would be competitive in comparison with the existing solutions, especially in terms of price. In the proposed solution, both information coming from microcomputers and weather forecast data coming from weather forecast stations, which make the above identification easy, were used as data sources.
