This study shows that digital media increases internet addiction and FoMO due to the impact of digitalization. As digitalization expands day by day and becomes a platform that can be addressed in its needs such as socialization, people's dependence on the internet is also increasing. Currently, digitalization also uses digital citizenship and digital identity as auxiliary elements. Without digital citizenship and digital identity, the impact of digitalization will also decrease. Digital citizenship and digital identity separate people from the normal and physical world and involve them in the digital plane. In this process, internet addiction is exposed due to the need to socialize, and individuals become even more dependent for socializing reasons. FoMO, on the other hand, is another indicator that addiction is growing. FoMO is increasing digital needs as there is a fear of missing out on the processes that are happening. As a result, internet addiction and FoMO are directly proportional to the increase in digital citizenship and digital identity.

Chapter 8 discusses the impact of digital media on collective memory. The chapter examines both the positive and negative impact of digital and social media. On the one hand, the analysis notes how digital media provided the channels for memory mobilization and the archives for memory transmission. On the other hand, the analysis examines the problematics of memory balkanization. It explicates how political forces have shaped the development of digital and social media in Hong Kong and how competing representations of the Tiananmen Incident and commemoration activities are articulated and reinforced within distinctive memory silos.

There has hardly been any other development that has changed our everyday lives as significantly as digitalisation, and there is hardly anything as commonplace as neighbourship. Despite the links between these two concepts growing, they have been neglected in social science research in Germany so far. The prevailing sentiment is that the Internet and social media sites have no connection to the real world, but there are countless neighbourship groups on Facebook, Twitter hashtags named after neighbourhoods or entire websites, such as ‘nebenan.de’, which endeavour to strengthen local community bonds through digital means. In short, the social developments in this respect are already considerably more advanced than the knowledge that exists about it. This anthology makes a fundamental contribution to the sociological debate on digitalisation and neighbourship by aiming to provide an overview of the relationship between digitalisation and neighbourship on the one hand, and open up avenues for further research on the other. It therefore examines and systematises attempts to strengthen local community bonds using digital media from different perspectives.

Multimodalidade. Tecnologias. Letramento. AbstractConsidering literacy and its relationship with digital media, understanding that this discussion has found space in the internet and in contemporary multimodality, it is necessary to investigate literacy in schools and the possibilities of using technologies, which justifies the elaboration of this work socially and academically. Thus, the present article aimed to point out possibilities of using digital media and technologies in the classroom as an auxiliary tool in the construction of knowledge, starting from the applicability of Stop Motion. The methodology used is qualitative in the means that, first, it explores, bibliographically, information brought by several authors from the fields of knowledge addressed; and, secondly, a workshop was held with teachers, with the intention of duplicate the methodology of using Stop Motion. In addition, questionnaires were answered by workshop participants, whose answers provide an overview of the problem presented here. The results of the workshop were satisfactory, as they brought a new horizon for the educators, besides having raised among them discussions about the use of the new technologies in the classroom as support in the autonomous development of the students, in their relations with the construction of knowledge and critical thinking. It was concluded that, on the one hand, the use of technologies is still moderate and often seen as a mechanism of illustration, not as a person trainer; and, on the other hand, that the Stop Motion technique is applicable and does not involve inescapable problems as support and encouragement for the students' autonomous research. Keywords: Education. Information and communication technologies, the Internet in particular, have a significant impact on all the aspects of social life. Therefore, it is necessary to study the problems, consequences, and scale of such influence in the sphere of different scientific disciplines (sociology, psychology, and cultural studies) as well as in the sphere of interdisciplinary discourse. There is a need for research adequate to the current situation of transition to a new technological mode, a digital society, which actualizes the demand for the formation of a new type of personality, a new elite. The new elite will be the bearers of the socio-cultural code of deep and systemic information processing, the owners of electronic culture on the basis of critical digital literacy and reflexivity. At the same time, specific empirical studies of recent years abroad and in Russia demonstrate the predominance of competences of information and communication technologies user, which is absolutely insufficient in the digital society. This research aims to analyze the value-reflexive attitude of Russians to the Internet based on the results of a specific sociological survey among the residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, implemented under the guidance and direct participation of the authors of this article during the period of social restrictions imposed by state authorities in connection with the new coronavirus infection from April to November 2020 by online questionnaire. The research tools included a block of questions on the digitalization of the region, including a number of statements showing the value-reflexive attitude of the respondents to the Internet. The results show that the number of respondents, who regard the Internet as one of the modern civilizational values, exceeds the share of respondents who recognize the dangers of Internet addiction. The authors have revealed that an even smaller percentage of those aware of the relationship of Internet addiction and anonymity on the Internet with the destruction of moral and moral systems, the erasure of the boundaries of personal and public space, psychological problems. A significant proportion of those who exhibit dangerous symptoms of alienation from the real, physical and social world was recorded. It was determined that for the majority of respondents, the Internet space has not become a platform of freedom, creative fulfillment, a friendly environment. The article assumes that economic conditions could become the foundation for bringing people together in the Internet space. Intergenerational differences in the value-reflexive attitude to the Internet space are revealed. The authors draw attention to the fact that the elderly, as the bearers of the deep meanings of traditional cultural forms, reflect the risks and dangers of the Internet space to a greater extent than the young people and adults. The authors link the prospects for further research with the sociological monitoring, which will allow studying the dynamics of digitalization processes in the region, the impact of age characteristics of identity on the attitude to the Internet, and the formation of electronic culture.

In today's world where the importance of digitalization is increasing day by day, companies to increase their competitiveness have focused on digital supply chain instead of traditional supply chain. The evolution of the Internet has been spectacular in recent decades. However, the Internet is still a linear scenario, focused on showing contents and dissociated from the physical world. On the other hand, there are many social groups that don’t know how to use the opportunities that ICT can offer them, such as children. In this scenario, Project Enjoy.IT! designs, develops, and validates an entertainment platform with advanced contents that will set up a practical realization of the new products and services from the Future Internet. Project Enjoy.IT! integrates the physical world as an extension of the virtual world and vice versa. Thus, the project creates an AmI system that is able to act depending on the children’s knowledge and necessities. The platform is based on a Services Choreography that allows an easy, simple integration of the necessary elements to give support to interactive entertainment activities.

The birth of the Internet in 1969 has changed people's lives immensely in the past 48 years. Over the years, this invention has brought people connection, information, communication, business, entertainment, and so forth; however, researchers have found the impact of the Internet's byproduct, namely Internet addiction, in the past two decades as well. It was argued that Internet addiction might be detrimental to people's mental and physical health. The problem is that Internet addiction is not clearly defined, nor has it been included in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-5) by American Psychiatric Association. If the definition is not clear and the symptoms are varied, the treatment for Internet addiction would become an issue. In this chapter, the researcher will focus on different approaches to the treatment of Internet addiction based on research after reviewing the definitions, theories, causes, consequences, and symptoms of Internet addiction.
