Author(s):

This study investigates the factors influencing customer satisfaction with references to on-demand home services, an emerging phenomenon in India. The hypothesized conceptual framework is grounded in the E-SQ and SERVQUAL model. To test the research hypotheses, 382 sample respondents were surveyed using a pre-tested questionnaire. The empirical validation of the proposed framework was performed with the help of PLS-SEM. The results suggest that e-service quality (E-SQ) and service quality (SERVQUAL) contribute to the overall service quality (OSQ) which has a positive influence on customer satisfaction (CS). It is further noted that, with reference to on-demand home services, overall service quality (OSQ) and customer satisfaction (CS) is moderated by value (VL). Further research could investigate the influence of OSQ on other relational constructs such as trust and customer loyalty. This study offers interesting insights to the managers and marketers in the service industry while crafting marketing strategies.

The aim of the study was to investigate customer satisfaction’s mediation role in the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty within Ghana’s telecommunication sector. The report followed an approach to quantitative analysis and questionnaires to collect data from 105 respondents. The statistical analysis was performed using descriptive methods and inferential statistical techniques in IBM SPSS. The mediation analysis was made using Hayes' PROCESS macro model 4. Results of the analysis showed that quality of service is a substantially positive indicator of customer loyalty. It was also evident that Service Quality had a significant and positive influence on customer satisfaction. The direction between the mediator (Customer Satisfaction) and Customer Loyalty was positive but not significant. Again, it became evident that customer satisfaction partially balances the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty. It was evident that telecommunications companies' service quality cannot be the only predictor of customer loyalty, but customer satisfaction should be considered. The study recommends that telecommunications companies in Ghana should lose the script or the strict customer interaction code, review and analyze customer interactions, make multifunctional supports available and reconnect with disgruntled customers.

When preparing an effective marketing strategy, a bank must consider its competitors as well as its customers. Establishing a mutual relationship with customers requires a better means of satisfying customer needs than the competitors. Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) should always analyze their competitors and develop marketing strategies that effectively give the company a good position compared to the competitors and provide a competitive advantage as strong as possible. This research was conducted using a quantitative method. The design referred to causal relationship research. The data were then analyzed using the path analysis. Findings showed that customer satisfaction, service quality, and customer loyalty affected the competitive advantage of Sentra Batik Pamekasan. The effect of customer loyalty on the competitive advantage could be viewed from the number of Sentra Batik Pamekasan's customers who decided not to move to other financial institutions (banks). When the company could give better service quality, the customer loyalty and the competitive advantage among financial institutions would get higher.

The service industry has become more and more important for business activities. Service industry contributes about 60% of the annual GDP and 70% of new jobs in America. According to the statistics of Executive Yuan of Taiwan, the service industry contributes over 70% of the annual GDP in 2008. The ultimate goal for companies is to build customer loyalty. With loyal customers, companies can reduce the operating cost and acquisition expenses. An improvement of 5 percent in customer retention leads to an increase of 25 percent to 75 percent in profit. It costs more than five times as much to obtain a new customer than to keep an existing one. This initial study was from relevant literature, then set up research structure and hypotheses. Survey was employed, and respondents were from the customers of TKEC in Taipei area. There were 199 usable questionnaires to analyze descriptive statistics, reliability, validity, and SEM model. The research found that service quality significantly affects customer perceived value and customer satisfaction, and customer perceived value and customer satisfaction have strong impact on customer loyalty for the sample. Therefore, firms have to specifically focus on these factors in order to build a long-term and mutually profitability relationship with a customer and create loyalty as competitive advantages in the market.

PurposeIn the wake of fierce competition that has ensued among banks to get a share of the depositors' funds after the banking sector reforms in 2017, this study attempts to investigate bank service quality and its influence on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.Design/methodology/approachUsing a sample of 753 respondents (bank customers), the study employs the structural equation modelling (SEM) using Smart-PLS to test the nature of relationships between service quality, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty using the SERVQUAL model.FindingsThe findings show that, with the exception of assurance, the remaining four antecedents of service quality, namely reliability, responsiveness, empathy and tangibility had significant positive influence on customer satisfaction. The results also show a significant positive influence of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty, implying that more satisfied customers in Ghana tend to become more loyal to their banks.Practical implicationsFor policy purposes, the authors recommend that banks should invest in improving service quality to drive customer satisfaction, loyalty and ultimately firm performance. The satisfied customer is a reliable source of bank viability and survival.Originality/valueTo the best of the knowledge of the authors, this is the first time a study on bank service quality has been done involving the management of banks in Ghana. This ensures the reliability of results. The findings of this study enhance knowledge of the positive relationship between service quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty using a modified SERVQUAL model.
