These approaches and strategies are extracted from practical teaching experience and have important reference role for the undergraduate education.

The paper deals with the methodological principles of the dual education development in the hotel and restaurant business taking into account the modernization paradigm. The preconditions for the formation of dual education systems in different countries suggest that such an approach should be more appropriately applied to practically oriented specialties. Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of existing dual education systems offers an opportunity to suggest ways to modernize them in the conditions of the information society development. The paper proposes a system of principles (general and specific) on which the cooperation of higher education institutions and hotel and restaurant business should be based. The stages and methodological approaches to the analysis of hotel and restaurant business modernization processes in the context of the formation of a dual education system are substantiated.

Research into machine learning (ML) for clinical vascular analysis, such as those useful for stroke and coronary artery disease, varies greatly between imaging modalities and vascular regions. Limited accessibility to large diverse patient imaging datasets, as well as a lack of transparency in specific methods, are obstacles to further development. This paper reviews the current status of quantitative vascular ML, identifying advantages and disadvantages common to all imaging modalities. Literature from the past 8 years was systematically collected from MEDLINE® and Scopus database searches in January 2021. Papers satisfying all search criteria, including a minimum of 50 patients, were further analysed and extracted of relevant data, for a total of 47 publications. Current ML image segmentation, disease risk prediction, and pathology quantitation methods have shown sensitivities and specificities over 70%, compared to expert manual analysis or invasive quantitation. Despite this, inconsistencies in methodology and the reporting of results have prevented inter-model comparison, impeding the identification of approaches with the greatest potential. The clinical potential of this technology has been well demonstrated in Computed Tomography of coronary artery disease, but remains practically limited in other modalities and body regions, particularly due to a lack of routine invasive reference measurements and patient datasets.

Abstract Last two decades, the studies on microRNAs (miRNAs) and the numbers of annotated miRNAs in plants and animals have surged. Herein, we reviewed the current progress and challenges of miRNA annotation in plants. Via the comparison of plant and animal miRNAs, we pinpointed out the difficulties on plant miRNA annotation and proposed potential solutions. In terms of recalling the history of methods and criteria in plant miRNA annotation, we detailed how the major progresses made and evolved. By collecting and categorizing bioinformatics tools for plant miRNA annotation, we surveyed their advantages and disadvantages, especially for ones with the principle of mimicking the miRNA biogenesis pathway by parsing deeply sequenced small RNA (sRNA) libraries. In addition, we summarized all available databases hosting plant miRNAs, and posted the potential optimization solutions such as how to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in these databases. Finally, we discussed the challenges and perspectives of plant miRNA annotations, and indicated the possibilities offered by an all-in-one tool and platform according to the integration of artificial intelligence.

In this article we talk about education as a global phenomenon that includes many actors with their own political interests. In this regard, the question of the anthropological component of modern education, including in the international context, arises extremely sharply: what kind of person is formed by the new global education, to whom it applies, and what values it forms. Main trends in global education policy are defined. The formation of a global educational policy has not yet been completed, and the pandemic of coronavirus infection has brought both positive and negative aspects. We name both of them: the advantages and disadvantages of pandemic situation that shifted the global higher education into the different format. Also, we make the forecast on further higher education development.

An integral feature and an urgent task of the modern education system is the use of digital products in educational practice. The forced implementation of mass distance learning in the period 2020-21 showed both the advantages and disadvantages of digital learning and set new horizons for optimizing this process. In May-June 2021, a study consisting of two parts was conducted: 1) an online survey of teachers of the general education system in order to determine the ideas about the advantages and risks for students when using digital products in educational practice; 2) an online survey of adolescent students in order to determine their ideas and experience of using digital products in the learning process. The sample consisted of 482 adolescents aged 13-15 years; 147 teachers of basic education with work experience from 3 to 23 years. Online surveys were conducted anonymously in the form of questionnaires using Google Forms. It was found that 80% of teachers and 98% of students highly appreciate the need to use digital products in educational practice. The majority of teachers noted the predominance of advantages provided by digital products as opposed to risks, the same idea was revealed in the survey of students. Conclusions are drawn about the similarities and differences in the understanding of teachers and students of the goals, forms and advantages of using digital educational products. For example, teachers believe that digital products should be used to copy educational materials and perform independent work tasks; they do not welcome their use during the lesson, which, on the contrary, is the main goal for students. The revealed discrepancies in the views of teachers and students regarding the goals, advantages and risks of using digital products makes the question of finding ways to coordinate and optimize relevant.

The article analyzes and interprets the comprehensive presentation of the development of inclusive education in some Nordic countries, namely Sweden, Norway and Iceland. The article states that the special education is still an alternative form of education for children with special needs who cannot attend secondary schools in the majority of the countries. Thus, the relation between inclusive and special education allows the author to draw some parallels between these two types of study to trace the transition from one to another. The author concludes that the history of inclusive education formation in Sweden, Norway and Iceland has much in common, but the Icelandic education system has characteristics which distinguish it from the two others

The framework structure of the federal law on strategic planning leaves a wide field of activity for developers to use various tools in the process of building a development strategy for both the region and its sub-systems, which include the education system of the region. The methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation regarding the development of a strategy specify only the content of the main directions of the strategy, but allow the use of various methods, models and mechanisms for developing the strategy itself. Therefore, the study of the issues of instrumental support of procedures for developing strategies for regions and its subsystems is of interest from a theoretical and practical point of view.In the study of theoretical and applied problems of instrumental support of the process of developing a strategy, algorithms are built in the form of a general scheme for developing a strategy and performing a comprehensive analysis prior to development. Algorithms for developing a strategy at the initial stage were formed based on the results of a comprehensive analysis, at the stage focused on the main goal (Mission), as well as at the final stage, the goals of which are focused on the ideal state in the future — Vision. Besides. An algorithm for determining the expected results has been built. on the basis of which a scenario for the development of regional subsystems is built. The scientific novelty of the developed procedures lies in the fact that a set of tools for determining strategically significant projects and programs of the final and intermediate stages of strategy implementation is proposed; tools for agreeing strategically significant decisions were formed throughout the cycle of strategic development of the region’s education system; shows the procedure for constructing a tree of goals for the intermediate stage of the strategy implementation; a procedure for the formation of a development strategy at the intermediate stage of strategy implementation has been developed. The proposed approach to building a strategy for the development of socio-economic systems in the region is implemented in the process of adjusting the development strategy of the Vladimir region in terms of vocational education in the region.
