As the development of the society and economy, more and more cars are used in the people life. Parking the car in a busy mall is often frustrated for us due to lack of the parking spaces. The problems mainly consist of two aspects. First, when we go to the destination, we do not know where the parking lot is and how many parking spaces is free. We have to spend a lot of time to find a parking lot. Besides, the parking lot usually is great, it is difficult for us to find the free space efficiently. Traditional solutions are implemented based on the TCP/IP networks or sensor network. TCP/IP solutions often require a lot on the infrastructure. Solutions with sensor network can not navigate the driver precisely. In this paper, we propose a novel parking management system with RFID and sensor networks, which can not only detect and locate the free parking space quickly, but also navigate the car to the parking space effectively. Our experiment shows that the proposed system is desirable for us to use in the life.

Kata kunci : tingkat pelayanan jalan, permasalahan parkir, persepsi masyarakat, manajemen parkirAbstract: The market is very synonymous with the center of the crowd, because the market is a trading center located in the city center which is often referred to as the Central Bussiness District (CBD). Because the market is a center of crowds that invites many people to come to the area, causing traffic congestion, due to uncontrolled traffic flow around the market. One of the traffic jams is due to uncontrolled parking, making parking conditions around the area increasingly chaotic. Aceh Market is one of the largest and most developed trade centers in the city of Banda Aceh. The increasing development of the Aceh Market area has made community movement activities increasingly increasing, which has caused a decline in the level of road services in the area, which is caused by vehicles that run slowly, parked, pedestrians and street vendors. Aceh Market has its parking facilities. Having provided parking space on the new Pasar Aceh (off-street parking) building it turns out that there are still many people who prefer on-street parking, while the parking lot on the Aceh Market building has not been fully filled, so traffic jams still occur and the chaos of traffic caused by many road users who use the road as a parking lot. The objectives of this study are: (1) evaluating road performance burdened by vehicles crossing the road in the Aceh Market area, (2) evaluating optimal parking space requirements to serve Aceh Market visitors and (3) identifying problems arising from -street parking based on people's perception. So it is expected that good parking management can be planned in the future. Keywords: level of road service, parking problems, public perception, parking management

Automatic car parking obtains information about available parking space, process it and then place the car at certain position. It is inevitable for the people to update with the growing technology and generally people are facing problems on parking vehicles in parking slot in a city. The Automatic car parking which enables the user to find the nearest parking area and gives availability of parking slots in that respective parking area with the help of LCD display and it mainly focus on reducing the time in finding the parking slots and also it avoids the unnecessary travelling through filled parking slots in a parking area. Thus, it reduces the fuel consumption which in turn reduces carbon footprints in an atmosphere. Sometimes, it is very difficult to find a suitable parking place in parking lot. This research paper has proposed a suitable solution to this problem.

Existing parking management approaches do not consider specific requirements, priorities, user comfort, or modes of use when allocating a parking spot in a large park. As a result, vehicles carrying multiple passengers but staying for a limited period often have to drive further, searching for a parking spot, which increases fuel consumption, emissions, waste of time, and discomfort of users due to extra walking distance. In this paper, we consider the need for both sustainability and comfortable livings in a future smart city and propose an adaptive-optimal scheme that takes advantage of parking efficiency based on the passenger information and flexibly provides the optimal parking spot to the individual. We presume that the management system has information about the number of users, user priority, and expected stay time when a car arrives or a parking request is made. The best parking slot is assigned based on the available parking slots and the given objectives, such as the shortest travel distance inside the parking zone for a low pollution, the shortest walking distance per user, or a combination of both with some trade-off. The decision process is fine-tuned using parking data obtained from a model of a large car park of a shopping complex, and the results of the proposed scheme are compared with other schemes. The findings indicate that overall time spent in the parking lot, as well as individual walking and travel distances, have significantly improved.

The increasing number of vehicles around the globe increases the parking problem. Parking of vehicle in front of the house or in the basement of shopping mall, consumes a lot of time and energy of the driver. Additionally, the emission of extra CO2 is adding to the environmental cause globally. So here, author has proposed a solution of mentioned problem. An Automated Parking Management System (APMS) is proposed here that dynamically detect the vacant parking slots. This interface will provide the facility of advance booking through which the user can book a parking slot in advance to avoid last moment rush. The user can also locate, view the nearest empty parking lot in advance and plan his/her journey accordingly. The proposed work is done with the help of sensors that will fetch the data dynamically from the parking slots (whether they are vacant, occupied or waiting) with the help of raspberry pie. The retrieved data is interfaced by an android application that will then show the status of the slots. Apart from mentioned advantages, this work also addresses the environmental concerns due to CO2 emission. In short, through this application user will get a safe and secure vacant parking slot without any hustle and wastage of time

Smart parking is becoming more and more an integral part of smart city initiatives. Utilizing and managing parking areas is a challenging task as space is often limited, finding empty spaces are hard and citizens want to park their vehicles close to their preferred places. This becomes worse in important/posh areas of major metropolitan cities during rush hour. Due to unavailability of proper parking management system, citizens have to roam around a lot in order to find a suitable parking area. This leads to the wastage of valuable time, unnecessary fuel consumption and environmental pollution. This paper proposes a smart parking management system (SPMS) based on multiple criteria based parking space reservation algorithm (MCPR) that allows the driver/owner of vehicles to find and reserve most appropriate parking space from anywhere at any time. The system also considers the concept of dynamic pricing strategy for calculating parking charge in order to gain more revenue by the government agencies as well as private investors. The system employs sensors to calculate concentration index, average inter-arrival time of vehicles of a parking area for better parking management and planning. The simulation results show that proposed system reduces the average extra driving required by the users to find a parking area and hence it will reduce traffic congestion, which in turn reduces air pollution caused by unnecessary driving to find a proper parking area.

A management method of scheduling the parking spaces in adjacent parking lot uniformly has been proposed to solve the growing problem of parking pressure caused by the increasing number of motor vehicles in cities. This method uses GSM network to collect the parking space’s status in adjacent parking lots, receives SMS or web query from owners, and shows the messages of each parking lot to them. Users could avoid the busy parking lots to parking their cars in the free parking lots relatively due to the query information, and can also obtain the right of parking spaces by appointment. The rock-bottom detection of each slave node by master node via RS485, Mater nodes transfer the detection messages to management system via GSM. The result shows this design could make use of existing parking resources. It is a good way to solve the problem of ‘Parking hard’.

In this paper, we conducted the research on RFID technology in the application of parking management system. The system adopts the scheme of RFID technology combined with background application software, whose foreground uses Visual basic 6.0 to carry on the application procedure development, and background carries on the data administration work with access database. It collects ID information by RFID module, and then uses computer software technology to charge fees even though vehicles do not stop. In that way the system achieves the automation of management and charge. In addition, this paper has also introduced RFID hardware components, operating principle, installation method of readers and control equipment (PC) in the parking site, system software design, development processes of software data acquisition in detail.

Considering the urban environment, we proposed a new model “Parking Management System”. The complete model provides you the basic features of the parking system. The system designates an exact parking slot for the driver. On the basis of user requirement, it includes the proximity to destination and the cost of parking. The capacity of overall parking is utilized efficiently. The system approach solves the problem at individual decisions in a time driven sequence. This is the most favorable solution based on the allocation on present state affair and subject to the arbitrary incidents such as the request of the new user and availability of the parking space. At the next decision point, the allocation is updated ensuring that there is no conflicts in the resource reservation and the assignment of resource have the higher cost than the current cost of function value. The proposed system enables users to find out the free parking space on the cost on new performance metrics to calculate the cost of user parking under the consideration of distance and the total no of free places. The system show that the algorithm helps improves the probability of successful parking and the user waiting time is minimized. The proposed system is implemented by us in the real world successfully.
