Urban morphology analysis is the basis of cognition of city and making plan of disaster prevention space system. According to urban morphology of Suzhou old urban area of the double chessboard of River Street parallel and a moat surround the city, explores the construction of prevention space system combined with urban morphology: disaster prevention units are based on neighborhood in the old area and all kinds of space are organized to form order disaster prevention space system. Exploiting new function of the moat waterfront outside the old area, enhance the capabilities to form a " Resilient function" waterfront space; strengthen the construction of land and water secure channel, ensure that evacuation channels are unblocked in disaster. Combine three different levels of disaster prevention space to construct disaster prevention space systems of Suzhou old urban area. It can strengthen the efficiency of Suzhou comprehensive urban disaster prevention.

ENGLISHPhysical elements to form city image that can be perceived through the function, location, and character of a certain urban area, are the keys to obtain the image of city. Kauman is a developing urban area in Juwana Sub-district, Pati Regency. This research aims to identify the elements of urban morphology and the forming elements of the city image in Kauman through the mental map method, based on the perceptions, experiences, memories, and feelings of its community. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. This study used Trancik’s theory to investigate urban morphology and used Lynch's theory to identify the forming elements of the city image. The urban morphology of Kauman was arranged as follows: solid elements were found in figure-ground, 1 point single block, and 2 groups at Jalan W.R. Supratman as multiple blocks. Meanwhile, void elements found 2 points. Linkage elements found a point. There are 3 styles of architecture still founded in Kauman, including Colonial, Javanese traditional, and Chinese style. Based on the analysis of the physical elements forming the Kauman Juwana image, it is arranged through 13 objects, there are 2 path elements, 4 edge elements, 3 district elements, 1 node element, and 3 landmark elements. Urban morphology studies developed from the city configuration are important in order to enable consideration on the needs of the place we live, that is, from the city level, as in a reduced analysis, focused on the neighborhood. Thus, morphological analysis serves to subsidize the actions performed by space producers and enables reflection on the impacts generated with each new building or intervention in the urban space. The object of study of the present work is the morphological analysis of a portion of the urban fabric of a small town of Rio Grande do Sul, which is characterized by residences of the population with highest purchasing power in the city, and also by places that present irregular buildings and illegal occupations. The typological study on the urban form has its focus on the analysis of open spaces and how they dialogue with the built spaces. Maps and analyzes identify the occupation of the territory and the different types of open spaces, whether public or private, green or built. The results show how these open spaces are presented and how they are used within the study area. This work presents a methodology for mapping and identifying the quality of free spaces, which, in turn, is very important to support further analysis in other parts of the city and to understand connections and free space systems within the municipality, in order to provide to public agencies a tool that helps in the planning and qualification of the spaces, both the existing ones, as well as future new spaces.

<p>The purpose of our work is to assess the health state of woody plants growing in different habitats of the city of Aktobe. We have studied the health state of arboreal and shrubby plants growing in various urban habitats; the survey was conducted during 2016-2017 by route-visual method. We performed the analysis of species diversity, abundance and density in urban area. The assessment of health state of the trees was made according to V.A. Alekseev. From your data and literature review we established that such species as Ulmus pinnato-ramosa, Acer negundo, Populus tremula, Populus nigra, and Syringa vulgaris have strong winter resistnce in the territory of Aktobe; we registered that only their apex buds and emds of the shoots were frozen in severe winters. The medium-resistant speices include Ulmus laevis and Acer platonoides. They are less plastic and suffer from late spring and early autumn frosts. The Amorpha fruticosa, Vitis vinifera, and Parthenocissus guinguefolia could be considered as the non-resistant species, since they usually freeze up to the snow cover line. The analysis of the vital state made it possible to assess the resistance to urban conditions of the majority of trees and shrubs registered in urban habitats of Aktobe. According to the preliminary data, the origin of the plant and its winter resistance are of main importance when introducing new species to urban area.</p>

The article deals with the issues related to the problem of ballistic design of the space system of remote sensing of the Earth on stable near-circular solar-synchronous orbits with long-term existence of spacecraft. We propose a rational method of maintaining a solar-synchronous orbit in given light conditions with prolonged active lifetime of space systems. In solving this problem, the total time of normal operation of the system for a given period of operation, during which the most favorable conditions for the use of spacecraft are provided on the main parts of orbits, is taken as a target function.

The accumulated particulate matter concentration at a given vertical column due to traffic sources in urban area has many important consequences. This task, however, imposes a major challenge, since the problem of realistic pollutant dispersion in an urban environment is a very demanding task, both theoretically and computationally. This is mainly due to the highly inhomogeneous three dimensional turbulent flow regime in the urban canopy roughness sublayer, which is far from “local equilibrium” between shear production and dissipation. We present here a mass-consistent urban Lagrangian stochastic model for pollutants dispersion, where the flow field is modeled using a hybrid approach by which we model the surface layer based on the typical turbulent scales, both of the canopy and in the surface layer inertial sub-layer. In particular it relies on representing the canopy aerodynamically as a porous medium by spatial averaging the equations of motion, with the assumption that the canopy is laterally uniform on a scale much larger than the buildings but smaller than the urban block/neighbourhood, i.e., at the sub-urban-block scale. Choosing the spatial representative averaging volume allows the averaged variables to reflect the characteristic vertical heterogeneity of the canopy but to smooth out smaller scale spatial fluctuations caused as air flows in between the buildings. This modeling approach serves as the base for a realistic and efficient methodology for the calculation of the accumulated concentration from multiple traffic sources for any vertical column in the urban area. The existence of multiple traffic sources impose further difficulty since the computational effort required is very demanding for practical uses. Therefore, footprint analysis screening was introduced to identify the relevant part of the urban area which contributes to the chosen column. All the traffic sources in this footprint area where merged into several areal sources, further used for the evaluation of the concentration profile. This methodology was implemented for four cases in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area based on several selected summer climatological scenarios. We present different typical behaviors, demonstrating combination of source structure, urban morphology, flow characteristics, and the resultant dispersion pattern in each case.

AbstractLibel played an important and extraordinary role in early modern conflict culture. The article discusses their functions and the way they were assessed in court. The case study illustrates argumentative spaces and different levels of normative references in libel trials in 16th century electoral Saxony. In 1569, Andreas Langener – in consequence of a long stagnating private conflict – posted several libels against the nobleman Tham Pflugk in different public places in the city of Dresden. Consequently, he was arrested and charged with ‘libelling’. Depending on the reference to conflicting social and legal norms, he had therefore been either threatened with corporal punishment including his execution, or rewarded with laudations. In this case, the act of libelling could be seen as slander, but also as a service to the community, which Langener had informed about potentially harmful transgression of norms. While the common good was the highest maxim, different and sometimes conflicting legally protected interests had to be discussed. The situational decision depended on whether the articulated charges where true and relevant for the public, on the invective language, and especially on the quality and size of the public sphere reached by the libel.
