This paper determines deformation law of the new and old subgrade differential settlement by studying on subgrade deformation characteristics and control methods, mainly by using the method of numerical simulation under certain conditions. By comparing the subgrade differential settlement before and after preloading, it is confirmed that preloading treatment can be used to prevent the road structure from the effect of differential settlement during and after highway widening construction process.

To provide a theoretical basis for water prevention and control methods and reasonable supporting techniques for vertical shaft, and to ensure the shaft construction to pass the sandstone aquifer safely and rapidly, numerical simulation using dynamic damage constitutive model, which was a user-defined constitutive modules in FLAC3D, a lagrangian analysis code in three dimensions, has been applied to investigate the dynamic damage effect in the surrounding rock of the grouting curtain near the driving working face for vertical shaft excavated by blasting. The results indicate that the distribution of the damage zone in the surrounding rock of the shaft, which decreases the effective thickness of the grouting curtain, was like a ellip-se, and that the depth of the damage zone in the surrounding rock of the shaft grouting curtain is fewer than that of the driving face floor. It can be concluded that the centre part of the driving face floor, especially the cutting hole zones, and the shaft wall in the greater horizontal stress side are the " key parts " for shaft water prevention and control methods.

Numerical simulation analysis of the deformation characteristics in the construction process of subgrade are conducted. Based on the different filling unit weight and roadbed elastic modulus conditions, the main research is that vertical settlement of roadbed center and the horizontal lateral displacement of road slope toe change with the increase of the depth of filling. It is believed that the lightweight filling should be selected or the roadbed elastic modulus will be enhanced as much as possible under the condition that satisfies various standard, which can improve the settlement deformation of highway.

The aim of this work is to determine the effect of “temperature-precipitation” climate parameters on the physical properties of sandy soil of an embankment during the construction period. The object of this study is sand from a quarry and the upper layer of the road embankment before and after the climatic effect during the “autumn-winter-spring” period. The results of this study revealed changes in sand gradation, coefficient of permeability and void ratio of a sandy soil after the influence of “temperature-precipitation” climate parameters during a short time period. The results of this study can be used for geotechnical control of construction process.

This paper elaborates on findings from an evaluation of the San Francisco Bay Area's Safe Routes to Transit (SR2T) program in California. This program funded enhancements to increase walking and cycling to regional transit stations. To understand how the program influenced travel choices, behavior, and perceptions of safety and local air quality, the study surveyed transit users and observed driver, pedestrian, and bicyclist behavior in the periods before and after the enhancements were made at multiple transit stations. Data from the treatment and control stations suggested that the streetscape and roadway improvements made through the SR2T program positively influenced the propensity to walk, bicycle, and take the bus to transit stations, as reported through surveys. In particular, the results showed that walking and bicycling increased by 3% at treatment sites compared with control sites. Bicycling also increased at control sites; this factor indicated a general societal shift. Furthermore, driving decreased 2.5% at treatment sites. Perceived air quality, in general, improved in the posttime period. When asked about perceived traffic risk, bicyclists more than pedestrians reported feeling safer on the road, with 10% of the bicyclists, on average, feeling safer after the improvements. There were also economic benefits from this project—pedestrians and bicyclists were overrepresented in those who stopped en route to transit for food and drink. The evidence suggested that the SR2T program positively affected the decision to walk and bicycle to access transit. The program is recommended for expansion to additional sites.

Jalan Temanggung Tilung is a 2/2 UD type road (two undirected two-way lanes) with a road width of 5.5 meters, which is a connecting road between two major roads, namely the RTA road. Milono and the path of G. Obos. Over time, the volume of traffic through these roads increases every year, plus roadside activities that also increase cause congestion at several points of the way. To overcome this problem, the local government carried out road widening to increase the capacity and level of road services. The study was conducted to determine the amount of traffic volume, performance, service level of the Temanggung Tilung road section at peak traffic hours before and after road widening. Data retrieval is done by the direct survey to the field to obtain primary data in the form of geometric road data, two-way traffic volume data, and side obstacle data. Performance analysis refers to the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) for urban roads. From the results of data processing, before increasing the road (Type 2/2 UD), the traffic volume that passes through the path is 842 pcs/hour and after road widening (Type 4/2 UD) the traffic volume for two directions is 973 pcs/hour, with route A equaling 528 pcs/hour and direction B equaling 445 pcs/hour. Based on the analysis of road performance before road enhancement, the capacity = 2551 pcs/hour, saturation degree = 0.331, and the service level of the two-way road are level B. Based on the analysis of the performance of the way after increasing the way, the direction capacity A = 2686 pcs/hour and direction B = 2674 pcs /hour, saturation degree for direction A = 0.196 and direction B = 0.166, service level for road direction A and direction B increase to level A

The compaction quality of the subgrade is directly related to the service life of the road. Effective control of the subgrade construction process is the key to ensuring the compaction quality of the subgrade. Therefore, real-time, comprehensive, rapid and accurate prediction of construction compaction quality through informatization detection method is an important guarantee for speeding up construction progress and ensuring subgrade compaction quality. Based on the function of the system, this paper puts forward the principle of system development and the development mode used in system development, and displays the development system in real-time to achieve the whole process control of subgrade construction quality.

Abstract: This research aims to analyze the impact of Janti Flyover Construction toward the growth of layout at Janti Urban Area, including structured space, open space, and linkage. Method used for data collecting are observation, air photograph monitoring, and interview, whereas the analysis method is qualitative description, which is the superimposed method of two layers, that are the layout condition before and after flyover construction. The result shows that the impact of Janti Flyover construction can be seen on building mass (solid), the increasing number of open spaces, including the road network, parking place, and park, whereas the relation between spaces, visually and structurally, can be seen on the growth of buildings which have new shapes and styles, therefore the performance of the overall building does not have a proportional shape. Considering Janti Street at the collective relation, its role is getting stronger as the main frame road network. Keywords: Flyover construction, layout changing, Janti AreaAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembangunan Jalan Layang Janti terhadap perkembangan tata ruang Kawasan Janti, meliputi ruang terbangun, ruang terbuka, serta hubungan antar ruang (“linkage”).
