Durability of BFRP and Hybrid FRP Sheets under Freeze-Thaw Cycling

Coupon tests were conducted to investigate the mechanical characteristics of basalt FRP (BFRP) sheet, basalt-carbon hybrid FRP sheets and the corresponding epoxy rein under the effect of freeze-thaw cycling. FRP sheets and epoxy rein coupons were subjected to up to 200 and 250 freeze-thaw cycles respectively. Test parameters included the number of freeze-thaw cycles and the types of FRP composites. Test results show that (1) BFRP sheet perform better than CFRP or GFRP sheets under high freeze-thaw cycles; (2) exposed hybrid FRP sheets not only show very little loss in mechanical properties, but also contribute to the stability of test data; (3) mechanical properties of rein epoxy decrease significantly with increasing freeze-thaw cycles.

<p align="center"><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p>Ceiling evelopment by utilizing waste corn cobs, coconut coir with gypsum flour an the adition of latex adhesive. Variations in the composition of the mixture of corn cobs, coconut coir, gypsum flour with latex adhesive include sample A (0:0:100:15), sample B (3:3:94:15), sample C (6:6:88:15), sample D (9:9:82:15), sample E (12:12:76:15), and sample F (15:15:70:15) with emphasis using a <em>hot press </em>and drying for 28 days. The test parameters include flexural strength and fracture strength. The test results show that sample B in the composition (3:3:94:15) is the optimal result. In this composition, the resulting ceiling board has the characteristics of a flexural strength of 3966,39 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup> and a fracture strength of 1088,6 kgf/cm<sup>2</sup>.</p><p><strong><em>Keyword :</em></strong><em> Lateks , Ceiling Board, Coconut Coir, Corn Cob</em></p><p><em> </em></p>

This study was carried out to discuss the influence of curing temperature on the performance of conductive composites filled with nickel-coated graphite (NCG). The electrical conductivity, crosslink density, mechanical properties and tensile fracture morphology have been investigated. The results indicated that curing temperature had great impact on the electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. Voluem resistivity decreased from 43.1 to 0.08 ohm-cm at 125°C-205°C, and the reason was discussed in light of formation and break of the conductive network in the composites. The stability of SR-NCG cured at 165°C-205°C were also better than those cured at other curing temperature. Besides, tensile strength increased from 2.41 to 7.19Mpa at 125°C-225°C, elongation at break have a 56% increase, and Shore A hardness also incresed from 74 to 82.

The purposes of this research is to study the stability of floating body using moderate lightweight concrete of which the gross weight was modified by crumb rubber and polymer. The moderate lightweight concrete was prepared by replacing 10%, 20% or 30% of sand in weight with crumb rubber of size No.6 or No.26 and mixing with the fluid polymer latex in 7.5% or 15% of the weight of cement. The test results shown that the concrete 626CR10-7.5, replaced sand with 5% No.6 rubber and 5% No. 26 rubber and mixed with 7.5% polymer, had better permeable resistant. Six pieces of models in the shape of open box were produced using the common concrete and concrete 626CR10-7.5. The stability of floating concrete body was tested and the metacentric height and the period of roll were calculated based on the test data. It is concluded that the moderate lightweight concrete behaved better stability and was appropriate material for floating concrete structures.

This study aims to compare the production process of rendang at Padang restaurants and the production of rendang itself, namely by observing CCP management in the running production process or not. Observation of the implementation of CCP management was carried out on the pH value and organoleptic values. This study conducted observations on the implementation of CCP management in the rendang production process in Padang restaurants then carried out the production of rendang itself by implementing CCP management and made improvements in the production process so that rendang was analyzed for pH value and organoleptic. The research data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T Test. Data analysis on the organoleptic test used the non-parametric Kruskal Wallis test and continued with the Mann Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that the rendang that is produced by CCP management is better than the rendang produced in Padang restaurants because it does not apply CCP management and has a significant effect (P <0.05) so it has poor test results. The results showed that padang restaurants needed to take corrective action on their tighter production processes so that their food products would be better.

The freeze-thaw cycles cause deterioration in mechanical properties of levee soil and further endanger the pavement structure on the embankment. This study attempts to comprehensively understand the mechanical response of pavement after freeze-thaw cycles. In this paper, the freeze-thaw cycles test under an open system was carried out, and then the triaxial compression test was conducted. Based on the test results, the effects of freeze-thaw cycles, temperature range, initial dry density, and initial moisture content of embankment soil on the mechanical response of road structure after freeze-thaw were calculated and analyzed. Finally, the stability of the slope of the levee was evaluated. The results show that the number of freeze-thaw cycles has the most significant impact on the mechanical response of pavement, the stress and strain of the structural layers vary in different ranges, and the pavement deflection increases by 5 times after 7 freeze-thaw cycles. However, the initial dry density and initial moisture content of the soil have little influence on the pavement structure, and the temperature range will exert an influence when it exceeds a certain threshold.

Sistem pemindah tenaga merupakan suatu system yang berfungsi untuk meneruskan tenaga mesin sampai ke roda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan torsi pada motor vixion tahun 2009 150cc dengan penggunaan pemindah tenaga berjenis timing belt dengan rantai dan untuk mengetahui perbandingan daya pada motor vixion tahun 2009 150cc dengan penggunaan pemindah tenaga berjenis timing belt dengan rantai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan menggunakan parameter uji Dynotest Sport Device 3.8. Dari hasil pengujian dari rpm 4500 sampai rpm 9500 dengan kelipatan 500 rpm torsi yang dihasilkan dapat dirata – ratakan menjadi 8.685455 N.m pada penggunaan rantai dan 9.09 N.m pada penggunaan timing belt. Dan dari hasil pengujian dari rpm 4500 sampai rpm 9500 dengan kelipatan 500 rpm daya yang dihasilkan dapat dirata – ratakan menjadi 8.586364 HP pada penggunaan rantai dan 8.973636 HP pada penggunaan timing belt. Data yang didapat diolah menggunakan SPSS 17.0 dengan analisa paired sampel t-test dengan membandingkan data daya yang disalurkan rantai dengan daya yang disalurkan timing belt dan membandingkan torsi yang disalurkan rantai dengan torsi yang disalurkan timing belt dimana hasil penelitian ini disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan timing belt dapat meneruskan daya dan torsi lebih baik dari rantai dan perbedaannya dinyatakan signifikanKata Kunci : pemindah tenaga, daya, torsi, rantai, timing belt Power transfer system is a system that serves to continue the engine power to the wheels. The purpose of this research is to know the ratio of torsi to motorcycle vixion in 2009 150cc with the use of power transfer manifold timing belt with chain and to know the power ratio in motorcycle vixion year 2009 150cc with the use of power transfer manifold timing belt with chain. The method used in this research is an experiment using Dynotest Sport Device 3.8 test parameters. From the test results from 4500 rpm to 9500 rpm with a multiple of 500 rpm torsi can be averaged to 8.685455 N.m on the use of chains and 9.09 N.m on the use of timing belt. And from the test results from 4500 rpm to 9500 rpm with a multiple of 500 rpm the power generated can be averaged to 8.586364 HP on the use of chains and 8.973636 HP on the use of timing belt. The data obtained was processed using SPSS 17.0 with paired sample t-test analysis by comparing power data channeled by power channeled timing belt and compare torsi channeled by torsi which channeled timing belt where the result of this research is presented in table and graph form. And it can be concluded that the use of timing belt can continue power and torsi better than chain and the difference is significantkeyword : Transfer of power, power, torque, chain, timing belt

A large number of specimens with different contents of cement mixed superfine tailings, which took superfine iron tailings as aggregate, were produced to carry out a series of experiments on the mechanical properties of different ages and freeze-thaw cycling tests. The strength, load -deformation curve, frost resistance and other performances of cement mixed superfine tailings were obtained. The experiment data were compared with cement mortar and cement-mixed soil ones under the same conditions. The results are listed as follows: on even ground, the strength of cement-superfine tailings can be 4-6 times higher than that of cement-mixed soil, and about 10% lower than that of cement mortar; the relation of load-deformation and the characteristics of freeze-thaw cycles are basically the same as cement mortar under the same conditions.

The parameter of the undisturbed soil cannot be used simply in the engineering for the characteristics varied considerably. So the physics and mechanical characteristics of freeze-thaw soil are very important in the freezing method engineering. The physics and mechanical properties of freeze-thaw soil and undisturbed soil are compared by the experiment. And the data of test are shown that after the samples are frozen and thawed, density, dry density decrease and plastic limit decrease, void ratio increase a little, other physicals are similar. Permeability of mild clay greatly increased. Compressibility of mild clay decrease, but compressibility of fine sand increase. This can be used reference to model test, numerical analysis and project designing.

In south China, residual soil is widely distributed and one of the most main soil in engineering construction at the coastal areas. While its mechanical characteristics are easily affected by moisture content, which is a serious threat to engineering stability and safety. In this paper, granite residual soil in a construction site of Xiamen is selected as remoulded specimens, and unconfined compressive strength test and static triaxial shear test are used, which will show the influence of moisture content (20%, 23% and 26%) on the mechanical properties of specimens. As the result is analyzed, it shows that mechanical properties such as stress-strain relationship, unconfined compression strength, internal cohesive force, internal friction angle, and shear strength, are better than other specimens when the moisture content is 23%, which will be beneficial to the stability and security of engineering soil.

This study aimed at exploring reliability differences in clinical diagnostic judgments. Twenty clinical psychologists volunteered for an examination of the consistency of their judgmental performance in matching test results and projective protocols against autobiographies. Psychologist-judges matched, at a better than chance level, Rorschach, TAT, and Sentence Completion Test protocols and objective, paper-and-pencil test data for 6 Ss against their complete autobiographies. Judges differed among themselves but individually were consistent. Judges who were superior in matching one kind of test against autobiography were superior in matching all other tests against autobiography. The matching test is a promising tool for measuring the reliability of diagnostic judgment of test analyzers and interpreters. Further research is needed in the use of matching methods in the study of clinical diagnosis.
