The paper introduces the data treatment methods of the wireless signal in a car tracing system at automotive manufactures stock yard. The paper shows the overall of the function of the wireless tracing system and introduces the Fingerprint method used in the system first. And then, the paper introduced how to use the wireless signal data to build up the database used for Fingerprint method in each board router. Two different types of data have been mentioned in the paper which are going to be stored into the database are average data and Fuzzy data. The following paragraphs of the paper introduces the application of the wireless tracing system based on Fingerprint method and discusses the influence of the different grid definitions of the stock yard to the application.

Collapsible soils are encountered in arid and semi-arid regions. Such soils cause potential construction problems due to their collapse upon wetting. The collapse phenomenon is primarily related to the open structure of the soil. Several soil collapse classifications based on parameters such as moisture content, dry density, Atterberg limits and clay content have been proposed in the literature as indicators of the soil collapse potential. Direct measurement of the magnitude of collapse, using laboratory and/or field tests, is essential once a soil showed indications of collapse potential. Treatment methods such as soil replacement, compaction control and chemical stabilization showed significant reduction in the settlement of collapsible soils. The design of foundations on collapsible soils depends on the depth of the soil, magnitude of collapse and economics of the design. Strip foundations are commonly used when collapsing soil extends to a shallow depth while piles and drilled piers are recommended in cases where the soil extends to several meters. This paper provides a comprehensive review of collapsible soils. These include the different types of collapsible soils, mechanisms of collapse, identification and classification methods, laboratory and field testing, treatment methods and guidelines for foundation design.

Abstract Nowadays, many types of fuel cells have made significant progress. In 2014, they were applied to the production model Toyota’s FCHV-Adv. With their high efficiency and low pollution, fuel cells have gradually started to replace some traditional technologies in many energy applications and production industries and have become a hot topic of interest in recent years. Depending on the type of fuel, there are various types, and different fuel cells work on different principles, leading to differences in their performance. This paper lists the different fuel cells and their application scenarios in the automotive industry. In addition, the use of hydrogen in fuel cell vehicles is also a major concern. This paper briefly discusses the current hydrogen production and four different types of fuel cell vehicles and their energy management strategies. All the technical advantages of fuel cells and hydrogen energy are ultimately reflected in fuel cell vehicles, and this paper describes the current challenges and future possibilities.

AbstractHyperspectral cathodoluminescence imaging provides spectrally and spatially resolved information on luminescent materials within a single dataset. Pushing the technique toward its ultimate nanoscale spatial limit, while at the same time spectrally dispersing the collected light before detection, increases the challenge of generating low-noise images. This article describes aspects of the instrumentation, and in particular data treatment methods, which address this problem. The methods are demonstrated by applying them to the analysis of nanoscale defect features and fabricated nanostructures in III-nitride-based materials.

The development of the world automotive industry is aimed at creating new, both in design and properties of tires that can operate in high dynamic loads under different operating conditions. The most probable cause of aging of automobile tires is considered in the article; one of methods of laboratory tests for the accelerated aging of system rubber-metal cord is described. The dependence of the influence of the metal cord design on the adhesion characteristics of the rubberized metal cord and its resistance to aging is also analyzed.

The radiator is an important heat exchanger for cooling the engine. Usually, water and ethylene glycol are used in vehicles as cooling fluids. However, these fluids have lower thermal conductivity. In the automotive industry, coolants with better characteristics are being searched to develop more efficient engines. In recent years, nanofluids have become more attractive to car manufacturers, with higher thermal conductivity to increase heat transfer. In this study, the analytic hierarchy process is used to structure the decision problem and to attribute weights to criteria. Three types of nanofluid (Cu-water, NiO-water, and CuO-water) were evaluated. Among the thermophysical properties of nanofluid, the most important one is calculated as the thermal conductivity and also the Cu-water is determined as the most suitable coolant in terms of thermophysical properties among the evaluated nanofluid.

Technology is improving every day in each aspect of daily life. This will help us to increase the sustainability rates and efficiency of recycling. In fact, waste generation is an indicator of economic activities by maintaining production output and also supplying many jobs. However, the treatment methods should also improve as the types and quantities of the wastes increase. There are many recycling technologies that are already serving mankind; however, the types of wastes are changing with composite materials. These types of “not only one origin” composite wastes make it difficult to recycle by the conventional methods. There are huge differences in the types of wastes discarded by different types of industries that make the situation more complicated. Conventional methods are no longer enough to treat and recycle all types of wastes. This chapter will discuss recent improvements and technologies about increasing the recycling rate without causing environmental impact.

ABSTRACT This article reviews different types of high-temperature thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic vulcanizates from rubber-plastic blends. Preparation, structure, and properties of these materials are discussed briefly. Strategies to further improve the high-temperature performance of these materials are presented herein. A synopsis of the applications of these high-performance materials in the automotive industry is reported, pointing out the gaps to motivate potential research in this field.
