Virtual worlds are successfully used for training a personal skill in an emergency situation. In this paper, we present a serious game for fire evacuation training in any public places like office buildings, conventional centers, hotels, and universities. The goal of fire safety evacuation plan is to minimize the damage, i.e. the number of injured people and casualties. In this paper, we built a virtual environment where imitates a classroom building in Bangkok University. We described a design process and development approach for achieving the objectives of evacuation training. The user evaluation was also conducted, showing that the prototype can be used effectively for training a fire drill at other public places.

The present paper extrapolates quantitative data for ozone virucidal activity on the basis of the available scientific literature data for a safe and effective use of ozone in the appropriate cases and to explore the safety measures developed under the stimulus of the current emergency situation. Ozone is a powerful oxidant reacting with organic molecules, and therefore has bactericidal, virucidal, and fungicidal actions. At the same time, it is a toxic substance, having adverse effects on health and safety. Its use is being proposed for the disinfection of workplaces’ and public places’ atmosphere, and for disposable masks and personal protective equipment disinfection for reuse, with particular reference to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Ozone can be generated in situ by means of small, compact ozone generators, using dried ambient air as a precursor. It should be injected into the room that is to be disinfected until the desired ozone concentration is reached; after the time needed for the disinfection, its concentrations must be reduced to the levels required for the workers’ safety. The optimal use of ozone is for air and surface disinfection without human presence, using a concentration that is effective for the destruction of viruses, but not high enough to deteriorate materials.

Preliminary design is core content of establishing emergency evacuation plan. A Link-Node space network structure model is founded for simulating public places in this paper. Based on the model, the basic model of crowd evacuation plan is analyzed and validated with an example. Then, a method of logical shortest path calculation is put forward, and satisfied preferably request of emergency evacuation plan design.

In 2017, fifty-eight individuals attending an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas were shot and killed, whilst hundreds more were injured. In this chapter, the authors explore the phenomenon of mass shootings taking place in entertainment venues or places of worship. These types of venues bring unique challenges in preventing and responding to mass shooting incidents. These authors recommend initiating a threat assessment system or model to assess changes in an individual's behaviors over time. It is of particular importance to evaluate whether the individual has been preparing for an attack. The six case studies reviewed engaged in active preparations beforehand by procuring weapons, writing manifestos and scoping out potential venues to attack. In terms of how to effectively respond to mass shootings in public locations, it is recommended that an emergency management plan with a range of scenarios is devised beforehand. Careful consideration should be given to ways to deal with individuals with special needs and how to communicate with patrons during an emergency situation.

This paper concentrates on modeling the vehicle routing to develop an evacuation plan for transit-dependent residents during emergency situation. Planning of transit route in the evacuation is formulated as a vehicle routing problem with time windows (VRPTW). An intelligent algorithm, in which genetic algorithm is embedded with simulated annealing is developed to solve the optimization model. A real evacuation network on which 19 pick-up points and 4 shelters are distributed is used to study the proposed evacuation strategy. The relevant results show the feasibility of the mathematical model as well as the efficiency of the solving algorithm.

As a modern large Railway station,Beijing South Railway station is an important city infrastructure in Beijing, it is a large public service establishments with a large number of passengers distribution activities. It’s meaningful to do some research on how to develop some emergency passenger safety evacuation plan scientifically, which can improve its security emergency ability. Based on the analysis of present situation home and abroad, this paper made deep analysis and researches on characteristics of elevated layer and emergency within it and the methods of large passenger safely evacuate simulation. Based on the situation of elevated layer of Beijing South Railway station, this paper chose AnyLogic software to establish the elevated layer of Beijing South Railway station emergency evacuation model and analysis the evacuation success rate. Provide optimization suggestions for the emergency safety management of Beijing South Railway station.

Background: The article presents the results of a study of ensuring fire safety in medical and preventive institutions (LPI) on the example of the central city hospital. Objectives: Research is aimed at improving the fire safety of hospital complexes and hospitals in modern conditions.Materials and Methods: The study used the methods of system analysis of scientific research and statistical data on ensuring fire safety, methods of structural analysis of the practice of ensuring fire safety of hospital complexes, mathematical methods for calculating the evacuation of people from a building and the spread of a fire in a building, methods for calculating the economic efficiency of means of support fire safety. Results and Discussion: Based on the analysis of fire statistics in healthcare facilities in Russia, it is concluded that it is advisable to improve the fire safety of hospitals and hospital complexes in modern conditions. The point of view is expressed that along with the fact that fire safety in hospitals is observed, the analysis indicates the existing problems in the practice of implementation. Conclusion: In order to increase the level of fire safety, it is possible to introduce: a modern fire alarm system; video of control systems and monitoring of safety of objects on the territory of the medical facility; installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems in fire-hazardous premises; installation of additional emergency lighting and reflectors indicating the direction of evacuation in case of fire and smoke; carrying out organizational and practical measures to ensure the safety of patients in a medical institution in an emergency situation (ES), namely, it is proposed to develop a memo of actions for patients in the hospital complex on inpatient treatment in case of an emergency with a list in the instruction log; provision of medical facilities with individual rescue equipment and provision of hospitals and hospital complexes with highrise buildings with modern evacuation means.International Journal of Human and Health Sciences Vol. 05 No. 04 October’21 Page: 412-417

Despite all the advantages, shopping centers belong to the facilities with a high risk of emergencies, such as fires. These objects are exposed to natural emergencies, and pose a threat due to possible acts of terrorism and human factors. The purpose of this study is to simulate a fire and develop measures aimed at eliminating it. Modern technological solutions play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of shopping centers. An emergency situation (ES) occurs unexpectedly and develops spontaneously. It is necessary to act quickly and accurately. To carry out rescue and other urgent operations during the elimination of consequences, operational information on the facility and the adjacent territory is required.

Game engines are not only capable of creating virtual worlds or providing entertainment, but also of modelling actual geographical space and producing solutions that support the process of social participation. This article presents an authorial concept of using the environment of Cities: Skylines and the C# programming language to automate the process of importing official topographic data into the game engine and developing a prototype of a serious game that supports solving social and ecological problems. The model—developed using digital topographic data, digital terrain models, and CityGML 3D models—enabled the creation of a prototype of a serious game, later endorsed by the residents of the municipality, local authorities, as well as the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development.
