The performance of helical-effect of the helical and twisted material is elaborated in this paper. Through analyzing the parameter of the helical and twisted material, a mechanism model based on the bond of anchorage is built. Furthermore the fundamental derivation formula is done and the sensitivity is analyzed. Based on systematic study of bond anchorage performance of helical and twisted reinforcement material, the mechanical of the helical-effect was theoretically analyzed and quantitatively studied. The relationship between pullout and bond slip was studied by mechanical analysis and mathematical modeling stage by stage, the formula was established and derived. As a result, theoretical understanding of the helical-effect was deepened, providing the theoretical basis for optimization of material properties, geometry parameters and developing new materials.

successful design of folding bicycle should take into account the function, material properties, and fabrication process. There are some other factors that should be considered in anticipating the behavior of materials for folding bicycle. In order to understand the relationship between material properties and design of a folding bicycle and also for the future direction in new materials with new design, a comprehensive study on the design under different conditions are essential. Therefore, a systematic study on the relationship between material properties and design for folding bicycle has been performed. The advantages and disadvantages matrix between conventional bicycle and folding bicycle is presented for better understanding of the materials properties and design. It was found that the materials properties of the folding bicycle frame such as fatigue and tensile strength are the important properties for the better performance of the frame. The relationship between materials properties and design is not straight forward because the behavior of the material in the finished product could be different from that of the raw material. The swing hinge technique could be a better technique in the design for the folding bicycle frame.

The present study examines the relationship between thermal conductivity and planarity in polyimide films. The samples tested were specially prepared to range in orientation from three dimensionally random to highly planar. The molecular structure and orientation of the polyimide film have been characterized by polarizing microscope techniques, while the thermal conductivity measurements were done using a new rapid nondestructive technique. This correlation represents the first time thermal conductivity has been measured by modified hot wire techniques and related to the internal structure of polyimide. This work contributes to a deeper theoretical understanding of thermal conductivity and heat transfer mechanisms as they relate to orientation. Thermal conductivity evaluation could provide a new tool in the arsenal of structural characterization techniques. This relationship between thermal conductivity and orientation is key for applications of directional heat dissipation in the passive layers of chip assemblies. Such a correlation has potential to speed the development cycles of new materials during formulation as well as assure properties during production.

This paper investigated the mechanical and electroconductivity properties of graphite tailings concrete, in which the graphite tailings are replaced as sand. The results showed that the concentration of graphite tailings has an important influence on the mechanical, electroconductivity, and material properties of concrete. Finally, a new model for calculating the relationship between compressive strength and electrical resistivity based on the grey correlation method was obtained for providing a theoretical basis for building green and intelligent building materials.

Cone is one part of a packer. To understand the seal effectiveness of the packer, mechanical analysis must be made for it. The finite element model of packer is set up and packer minimum setting load changes are calculated under different climb angle of cone. Results show that reduce the cone angle of climb can make the packer sealing load significantly lower. The calculation results provide the theoretical basis for the real operation.

Firstly, by analyzing the response of Charpy V-notch specimen impacted by pendulum, the relationship between specimen geometry, material properties, and impact energy is established and simplified, and the mathematical model for evaluating impact energy of specimens with different sizes is established. Then, the effectiveness of the model through a series of impact tests is verified. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the relationship between ligament length and impact energy is quadratic, while the relationship between ligament thickness and impact energy is linear. In the derivation process, the intrinsic impact toughness is used to evaluate the toughness of materials. The mathematical model makes it possible to evaluate the impact energy of specimens with different sizes and provides a theoretical basis for evaluating the impact resistance of structures.

This report describes an unusual and persistent dysphonia in two young women who had taken a therapeutic regimen of isotretinoin for intractable acne. We report perceptual and instrumental data for their dysphonia, and pose a theoretical basis for the relationship of dysphonia to this drug. We also provide recommendations for reducing the risk of acquiring a dysphonia during the course of treatment with isotretinoin.

The determinants of value orientations of a teacher of higher artistic education are identified, qualitative and instrumental properties of a teacher’s consciousness are determined, the relationship between value and sense-bearing processes at the level of cultural and personal senses and outlook priorities correlated with the main messages of postnonclassical science are revealed in the article on the bases of humanistic personally oriented paradigm. Different vectors of deployment of consciousness (self-consciousness) as a teacher’s personal formation in artistic education are considered, the positions which lay the theoretical basis for the development of value and sense-oriented learning, its multicultural, pedagogical and individual-personal contexts are formulated.

This article argues that the unusually large and persistent association between Islamophobia and opposition to President Obama helped make attitudes about Muslims a significant, independent predictor of Americans’ broader partisan preferences. After detailing the theoretical basis for this argument, the article marshals repeated cross-sectional data, two panel surveys, and a nationally representative survey experiment, to test its hypotheses. The results from those analyses show the following: (1) attitudes about Muslims were a significantly stronger independent predictor of voter preferences for congress in 2010–2014 elections than they were in 2004–2008; (2) attitudes about Muslims were a significantly stronger independent predictor of mass partisanship during Obama’s presidency than they were beforehand; and (3) experimentally connecting Obama to Democratic congressional candidates significantly increased the relationship between anti-Muslim sentiments and Americans’ preferences for Republican congressional candidates. The article concludes with a discussion of the implications of these results for American politics in the Trump era.

AbstractProstate cancer (PCa) is one of the most commonly diagnosed human cancers in males. Nearly 191,930 new cases and 33,330 new deaths of PCa are estimated in 2020. Androgen and androgen receptor pathways played essential roles in the pathogenesis of PCa. Androgen depletion therapy is the most used therapies for primary PCa patients. However, due to the high relapse and mortality of PCa, developing novel noninvasive therapies have become the focus of research. Melatonin is an indole-like neurohormone mainly produced in the human pineal gland with a prominent anti-oxidant property. The anti-tumor ability of melatonin has been substantially confirmed and several related articles have also reported the inhibitory effect of melatonin on PCa, while reviews of this inhibitory effect of melatonin on PCa in recent 10 years are absent. Therefore, we systematically discuss the relationship between melatonin disruption and the risk of PCa, the mechanism of how melatonin inhibited PCa, and the synergistic benefits of melatonin and other drugs to summarize current understandings about the function of melatonin in suppressing human prostate cancer. We also raise several unsolved issues that need to be resolved to translate currently non-clinical trials of melatonin for clinic use. We hope this literature review could provide a solid theoretical basis for the future utilization of melatonin in preventing, diagnosing and treating human prostate cancer.
