INSEE runs a lot of surveys and needs to make them available on different media: paper questionnaires, specialized survey software or web forms. As part of an overall effort of rationalization of its information system, INSEE recently initiated the construction of a central statistical metadata repository and of a generic platform for survey data collection. We describe in this paper a pathfinder operation that draws from these two important projects and aims at automating the generation of web questionnaires from metadata models. We explain the business justification of this approach and the technological choices made, especially the utilization of XForms. The generation process is described in detail and the lessons learned from this operation are depicted.

SummaryThe Massachusetts Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (MASBIRT) Program, a substance use screening program in general medical settings, created a web-based, point-of-care (POC), application – the MASBIRT Portal ( the “Portal”) to meet program goals. Objectives: We report on development and implementation of the Portal. Methods: Five year program process outcomes recorded by an independent evaluator and an anonymous survey of Health Educator’s (HEs) adoption, perceptions and Portal use with a modified version of the Technology Readiness Index are described. [8] Specific management team members, selected based on their roles in program leadership, development and implementation of the Portal and supervision of HEs, participated in semi-structured, qualitative interviews. Results: At the conclusion of the program 73% (24/33) of the HEs completed a survey on their experience using the Portal. HEs reported that the Portal made recording screening information easy (96%); improved planning their workday (83%); facilitated POC data collection (84%); decreased time dedicated to data entry (100%); and improved job satisfaction (59%). The top two barriers to use were “no or limited wireless connectivity” (46%) and “the tablet was too heavy/bulky to carry” (29%). Qualitative management team interviews identified strategies for successful HIT implementation: importance of engaging HEs in outlining specifications and workflow needs, collaborative testing prior to implementation and clear agreement on data collection purpose, quality requirements and staff roles.Discussion: Overall, HEs perceived the Portal favorably with regard to time saving ability and improved workflow. Lessons learned included identifying core requirements early during system development and need for managers to institute and enforce consistent behavioral work norms. Conclusion: Barriers and HEs’ views of technology impacted the utilization of the MASBIRT Portal. Further research is needed to determine best approaches for HIT system implementation in general medical settings.Citation: Shanahan CW, Sorensen-Alawad A, Carney BL, Persand I, Cruz A, Botticelli M, Pressman K, Adams WG, Brolin M, Alford DP. Large-scale research has gained momentum in the context of Mobile Human-Computer Interaction (Mobile HCI), as many aspects of mobile app usage can only be evaluated in the real world. In this chapter, we present findings on the challenges of research in the large via app stores, in conjunction with selected data collection methods (logging, self-reporting) we identified and have proven as useful in our research. As a case study, we investigated the adoption of NFC technology, based on a gamification approach. We therefore describe the development of the game NFC Heroes involving two release cycles. We conclude with lessons learned and provide recommendations for conducting research in the large for mobile applications.

Kata Kunci : Sistem Informasi, Berbasis Masyarakat, PendataanABSTRACT Manual data collection causes problems in the data collection process, this also occurs in the Pasuruan City Education and Culture Office where data collection is still manual with a limited number of Human Resources (HR) assigned to collect data, therefore this service activity is carried out information system training to increase data collection time and reduce complexity in the data collection process for employees at the Pasuruan City Education and Culture Office. The information system training referred to is a community-based data collection information system, which contains basic data required by the Regional Government in the framework of formulating development plans. Information data will not provide benefits if it is not used as a reference in the preparation of development plans so that training and assistance are needed to achieve the goals. Keywords : Information System, Community Based, Data Collection

Research that the author did aim to know how to design inventory system on Planet Phone. The method used is quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used are literature study, observation, and interviews. From the research conducted found that there is a problem on inventory data processing. The process of inventory data processing only by writing using a general ledger. So this causes inaccuracies and delays in reports. Therefore the authors make the information system by using PHP and MySQL database. This system consists of inputting inventory data, inventory reports, sales reports and income reports. As for some suggestions given to tackle the problem is by connecting the system with internet connection, for employees more quickly and effectively in penginputan inventory data and owner can also know the sales reports and income reports more quickly without having to come directly to the store.
