The ethics of the comic is a relatively new interdisciplinary field of knowledge that is gaining new relevance with the development of a variety of social media. The purpose of this article is to review the existing research and show by examples how ethics and values are closely related to the specific functions of social media, such as distributing parody content and commenting on it. The main focus of our study is a parody which can be defined as communicative behavior in the form of a text, movement, or even a song, imitating the characteristics or behavior of the object being ridiculed. Unlike a literal quotation, a parody reproduces the original in a distorted form for the purpose of mockery. Within this article modern ethical approaches to the evaluation of parody as well as the main functions of parody in the digital environment are considered. Based on the examples of parody videos on TikTok the particular ways of expressing social problems and cultural traumas by using the comic strategies are identified. Furthermore, the issues of algorithmic censorship concerning such videos as well as the problem of the moral autonomy of users are discussed.

Social media is a highly valuable site for Indigenous people to express their identities and to engage with other Indigenous people, events, conversations, and debates. While the role of social media for Indigenous peoples is highly valued for public articulations of identity, it is not without peril. Drawing on the authors’ recent mixed-methods research in Australian Indigenous communities, this paper presents an insight into Indigenous peoples’ experiences of cultivating individual and collective identities on social media platforms. The findings suggest that Indigenous peoples are well aware of the intricacies of navigating a digital environment that exhibits persistent colonial attempts at the subjugation of Indigenous identities. We conclude that, while social media remains perilous, Indigenous people are harnessing online platforms for their own ends, for the reinforcement of selfhood, for identifying and being identified and, as a vehicle for humour and subversion.

The developments in Web technology are creating more friendly, social, and fun environments for retrieving and sharing information and one of such is social media networking websites. However, it has been observed that despite the promise of social networking sites, limited libraries are adopting them for rendering services to their patrons and this consequently results in limited patronage and response from the users. To address this challenge of limited usage of social media by libraries and to engage more users in libraries' Social Networking Sites (SNSs), this chapter attempts to create awareness on the usefulness of SNSs to libraries. The discussion in the chapter focuses on the meaning of social media and SNSs, their impact on library services particularly in the digital environment, the features and types of SNSs available, etc.

In this article, we present the results of a strategy to disseminate best social work practices during periods of social lockdown in Spain, in a climate characterised by post-truth, misinformation and fake news. Social work is challenged with the task of delivering reliable and quality information aimed at building a better society. At the time of writing, Spain was one of the countries most affected by COVID-19, with one of the highest numbers of deaths per million inhabitants in the world. With the population in lockdown, our strategy was to design a series of innovative web seminars on both the subject and the procedures involved in social work, with the aim of sharing information and best practices to counter disinformation campaigns on social media. The results show the growing demand – both by citizens in general and students and professionals in particular – for reliable information in the field of professional practice. One of the priorities of digital social work must be to disseminate its results in the digital environment.

Social media, as the name implies, is a media for people to socialize with the others, with borderless space and time, over the Internet. Facebook is one of Indonesian favoritesocial media. Indonesian does a lot of activities on Facebook, such as posting andcommenting on other people posts. One of the most popular features on Facebook isthe sharing feature. It can share post or link from online media or other people’s postto their own account. The ease of using the share features, it also raises many cases. The case of indignation expression of Danish badminton players against the threat ofmurder directed against them, until the case of defamation of the President of Indonesiabecame a real example of the effects of these features. Many of those kinds of cases resultin social punishment, even prison. Law of The Republic of Indonesia Number 11 year2008 about Electronic Information and Transaction which had been revised on 2016,still can not solve social problems which occur on the Internet. In fact, the Act alone willnot be enough to solve social problems. Actually, what society needs is more knowledgeabout digital literacy.
