The study shows how nanotechnology evolves in developed countries and Brazil, raising aspects of private and governmental initiatives. The investigation was based in scientific literature, electronic articles and conference reports. Several sources of literature were used, including electronic databases and reference lists. By this study, it was observed that, although nanotechnology is in initial stage of development all over the world, the developed countries have had growing public and private investments in the area each year. In those countries, there is a concern toward both, the formation of specialists in nanotechnology and the transference of technology developed in universities and research institutes to industry. In Brazil, the study showed that despite the growing concern of investigators, national research centers and financial centers toward the development of the nanotechnology, there is still a need for more investment and formation of area specialists.

An article by Priest Ilya Nikolayevich Pismenyuk, Professor at the Department of Church History, dwells on the initial stage of development of the modern ecumenical movement after the end of the International Missionary Conference in Edinburgh in 1910. At this stage, ecumenism was divided into three main directions: theological, socio-practical and missionary ones. All of them gradually found institutionalization in the first ecumenical organizations, among which the most notable were the conferences «Faith and Church Order» and «Life and Work», along with the International Missionary Council and World Alliance for the Promotion of International Friendship through the Churches. The development of these organizations made the basis of the future creation of the largest inter-Christian institution in history - the World Council of Churches.

The doctrine of predestination in the Lutheran and Calvinist theology, along with the assumption of a radical separation of nature and grace as well as the material and spiritual realm, had a significant impact on social life. The salvation of the soul, the soteriological dimension of human destiny, remained dependent on the grace of God (predestination), undeserved and unfathomable. The earthly reality, the institution of the Church and good works could in no way contribute to the salvation of the soul. Martin Luther, especially at the initial stage of his reformation activities, focused on private spirituality, considering the earthly dimension of reality to be the domain of the secular power. John Calvin and his successors justified in their teachings a different attitude manifested in the interest in the earthly world based on religious ethics. The doctrine of predestination, therefore, did not result in, as one would expect, quietism but in activism. The Calvinists believed that predestination was not manifested in single good deeds but in a certain methodology of systematised life based on religious ethics. Religiousness was supposed to be expressed through activity in the world and was meant to show the glory of its Creator. Work, thrift and honesty were supposed to lead to the rebirth, i.e. “sanctification” of the world, and were the essence of what Max Weber called the spirit of capitalism. Calvinism led to changes in the approach to such economic issues as money lending at interest, work or enrichment.

The article deals with the current state of travel journalism on Ukrainian TV channels. The article describes the chronological formation and development of travel journalism on Ukrainian television as a new thematic area on domestic TV channels. Through the study of the evolution of travel programs, we can see the modern features of new travel programs and claim that modern travel programs on Ukrainian television are better and more interesting than their predecessors in the 90s and early 2000s. Each of the programs we have analyzed has its own peculiarity, which may consist in geographical coverage, thematic specificity, mastery of the presenters and more. But all these programs combine the element of travel and cognitive nature. Most of the TV shows on Ukrainian television appeared in 2011. Some of these programs were only translated for one season, while others are still broadcasted. These are the programs «Inside Out» by Dmitry Komarov and «The Eagle and the Rescue». The secret to the success of these broadcasts is authentic content, interesting program design, and, of course, mastery of the presenters. And if in the program «Eagle and Rescue» pairs of presenters are constantly changing, then in «Inside the World» the author and host of the program remains unchanged. Moreover, Dmitry Komarov’s awareness and rating is constantly growing, which gives reason to speak about his remarkable authority and skill, as well as good selected countries for travel and program format. The originals are also Eurochekin and Zarobitchany programs, where, in addition to traveling, the presenters reveal the peculiarities of living and working abroad. These transfers are of significant importance, because in Eurochekin, the presenters highlight the features of traveling abroad by own car, and in the «Earnings» – the specifics of work and earnings in different countries. In general, the results of the study indicate that modern travel programs are on the verge of a new stage of development.

Key words: travel journalism, travel shows, travel shows, travel, TV channels.

The article is aimed at examining the current state and peculiarities of integration of Ukraine’s stock market into the world stock market. The article analyzes the current state of the stock market of Ukraine. It is defined that according to the criterion of «capitalization of the stock market/GDP», Ukraine’s stock market can be characterized as underestimated and having the potential for growth. The tendency to reduce the number of professional stock market participants and the gradual consolidation of securities trading in two stock exchanges was noted: «PFTS» and «Perspektyva». Most operations in Ukraine’s stock market take place in the secondary market. It is recognized that the stock market in our country is practically not used by issuing enterprises to attract financial resources. As for the issuers, most of them are represented by the so-called «blue chips». Among the extant problems of Ukraine’s stock market, low liquidity of securities was noted, which remains so due to the insider nature of the stock market. In addition, the phenomenon of price manipulation is present. But, despite the existing problems, the process of integration of the Ukrainian stock market into the world stock market continues. Thus, joining the process of virtualization of the world financial system, operations in the digital environment are gradually being transferred in Ukraine and information technologies are quickly introduced into the operations of stock exchanges. The Law of Ukraine «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Simplifying Investment Attraction and Introduction of New Financial Instruments» adopted in 2021 took into account the requirements of the modern world stock market related to the transformation of existing forms of securities and the emergence of their new types. This law provides for the construction of a new financial infrastructure in Ukraine. It is concluded that the leading role in the process of integration of Ukraine’s stock market into the world stock market belongs to the State, which, stimulating the development of the national stock market and establishing cooperation with international organizations operating in this sphere, regulates this process.

Abstract Background Destination left ventricular assist device placement is increasing as a result of donor shortages and changing patient attitudes. As organ shortages become critical, LVAD programs become fundamental even in more remote regions of the world including island states. Here, we provide a look into the current state and availability of LVAD programs in island states. Main body A narrative review was performed using the World Health Organization Global Index Medicus and PubMed/MEDLINE databases to identify articles describing the island states having reported LVAD placements and programs. Additionally, INTERMACS reports were used. Data were retrieved and a review is presented describing the current state of LVADs in island states. The Caribbean region as a whole has a heart failure (HF) prevalence of 814 per 100,000 and Oceania 667 per 100,000 people. We estimate that over 3000 people in these islands need either a heart transplant or an LVAD. Short conclusion For HF patients living in island regions, special attention should be paid to the inability of having access to specialized mainland medical care. The continuous quest for a solution to HF in island regions should include the establishing of high-quality LVAD programs in a transfer-network centralized/regionalized system to care for those patients not candidates for long-distance air-bridging.
