An analysis of the results of an empirical study of the relationship between mental states and personal qualities of persons under investigation under conditions of detention in a detention facility revealed correlations between stress tolerance and neuropsychic stress (the higher the stress resistance, the higher the level of neuropsychic stress of the persons under investigation), emotional lability and neuropsychological stress (the more pronounced the instability of the emotional state of the suspect and the less developed his ability to control himself, t m below the level of neuropsychic tension), personality type and neuropsychic tension (the level of psychological tension in those under investigation extraverts is higher than that of introverts), the type of personality and the dominant state (those under investigation extraverts are not prone to manifestation of unmotivated anxiety, and introverts are prone to the experience of unmotivated anxiety), emotional lability and dominant state (the more pronounced the instability of the emotional state of the suspects, the higher the level of relaxed spine), the type of interaction with people around them and the dominant state (people under investigation with a pronounced desire for trustingly frank interaction with people around them more clearly demonstrate the relaxedness of behavior), masculinity-femininity and the dominant state (people under investigation, whose mental activity proceeds mainly male-type, heavier transfer the situation of restriction of freedom. The stronger the degree of masculinity in such persons, the more critical their self-esteem is, the spontaneous aggression and the dominant state (the higher the level of psychopathisation of the introspective type in suspects, the higher the degree of satisfaction with their lives in general), depression and dominant state (in those under investigation). dissatisfied with their lives, the severity of depressive states is higher), reactive aggressiveness and depression (those under investigation with an aggressive attitude towards social circling and a pronounced desire to dominate is not prone to depressive states). The study of the mental states of a person deprived of liberty is important for the organization of the correction process and the development of recommendations for the prevention of the destructive behavior of persons under investigation due to their mental state.

This booklet is a collection of the position statements accepted for the HRI’20 conference workshop “Social Cognition for HRI: Exploring the relationship between mindreading and social attunement in human-robot interaction” (Wykowska, Perez-Osorio & Kopp, 2020). Unfortunately, due to the rapid unfolding of the novel coronavirus at the beginning of the present year, the conference and consequently our workshop, were canceled. On the light of these events, we decided to put together the positions statements accepted for the workshop. The contributions collected in these pages highlight the role of attribution of mental states to artificial agents in human-robot interaction, and precisely the quality and presence of social attunement mechanisms that are known to make human interaction smooth, efficient, and robust. These papers also accentuate the importance of the multidisciplinary approach to advance the understanding of the factors and the consequences of social interactions with artificial agents.

Currently, studies aimed at assessing the emotional state and cognitive processes associated with the processing of emotionally determined information in patients with ischemic stroke, as well as finding the relationship between them are particularly relevant, mainly for the subsequent optimization of the therapeutic process. In order to identify the features of the emotional state and cognitive processes, a group of patients with ischemic stroke in the acute period in the amount of 25 people was examined. It was established that in patients with a lesion in the anterior cortex, depressive states in the acute period of stroke are more pronounced. Patients successfully reproduce emotionally significant words in comparison with neutral words; an interrelation between the level of anxiety and depression was found, which indicates that these states are comorbid. But, in turn, the relationship of the severity of anxiety and depression with the cognitive processes of recognition and reproduction, as well as differences in mnestic and gnostic activity in patients with different levels of anxiety and depression were not identified. After the treatment with Semax an improvement was noted.

Studies dealing with the sociometry of handicapped children have not shown the presence of any single handicapping condition to be an absolute criterion for predicting rejection. Since brain damage is associated with many handicapping conditions, the relationship of brain damage associated characteristics and social acceptance in EMR classes was investigated. Those characteristics commonly associated with brain damage were found to be closely and cumulatively associated with rejection among the subjects studied. The most frequently found characteristics among the most often rejected subjects were short attention span, hyperkinesis, emotional lability, and impulsivity.

It is suggested that pregnancy is a state of conflict which diminishes as the pregnancy proceeds. This model of the emotional state is related to physiological findings during pregnancy. The patterning of the 17 hydroxycorticosteroids is discussed with reference to the emotional state. The relationship of the blood levels of steroids to histamine is examined and the balance of steroids and histamine in the blood is offered as the basis for several conditions in pregnancy and labor, namely, spontaneous abortion, eclampsia, and hydatidiform mole. The histamine-steroid balance is also related to length and termination of labor and possibly affects intra-uterine conditions and the foetus.

Two major ways of judging one’s competence and defining subjective success in achievement situations are task (focus is on improvement) and ego (focus is on beating others) involvement (16). Specific to the athletic context, this study examined the relationship of young athletes’ proneness to task and ego involvement, or individual differences in the degree of task and ego orientation, respectively, to their (a) beliefs about the causes of success, (b) perceived ability, and (c) degree of satisfaction/enjoyment in the athletic domain. Subjects were 55 young athletes recruited from summer basketball camps. Congruent with previous research on older athletes and the classroom, a conceptually consistent relationship between goal orientations and views concerning the causes of success was revealed. Young athletes who were high in task and ego orientation tended to perceive themselves as more capable and report greater satisfaction/enjoyment. Implications concerning the motivational consequences of goal orientations for children and youth are discussed.

The study is devoted to the study of the structure of the interconnections of the components of the "I" -image of students with the various mental states they experience in the context of studying at a university. Students determined the severity of the components of the "I" -image in three time continua - in the past (1st year), in the present (3rd year), in the future (4th year). They also determined the frequency of occurrence of mental states during the first two years of study using a special questionnaire. Then a correlation analysis was carried out, which made it possible to find relationships with a high level of reliability between the components of the "I" -image of students and some mental states experienced in two educational situations, which differ qualitatively depending on the time continuum. Based on the results obtained, conclusions were drawn about the presence of relationships, thanks to which it is possible to exert a certain influence on the experienced mental sta

Like cognitive processes, mental states are subject to neurophysiological justification according to the length, quality characteristics, validity and self-regulation of functions it is distinguished by its ability. In addition, many researchers believe that mental development the dynamic interaction of these aspects of the psyche at all stages and he noted the unity that exists in the interaction. The close connection of cognitive processes and emotional state is determined by the one-sidedness of the subject, which is expressed in the selectivity of attention and emotional the brightness of cognitive processes. AbstractClinical simulation allows discussions about improving the quality on the patient’s care. This method have effectiveness on what concerns to satisfaction, self-confidence and student motivation. However, during the assessment, the students have emotional reactions that have tended to be overlooked. In view of this, this article seeks to identify and describe the relationship of the emotions observed by facial expressions and assess their degree of satisfaction and self-confidence by carrying out simulated practices among the nursing students. The analysis based on the scales showed high satisfaction and self-confidence levels, and it was found that the predominant basic emotion was anger, which is caused by other correlated emotions like tension and stress. This divergence between the identified emotions opens up space for further investigations about the level of motivation and the stimulus tolearning that these emotions can provide, and the extent to which they can lead to satisfaction and self-confidence.
