Cardiac catheterization is a mandatory procedure that is performed before heart surgery and has the highest level of accuracy (96% -99%) to detect abnormalities in the heart, especially coronary heart disease. Through relaxation exercises the nurse's respiratory muscles help patients achieve stable hemodynamics and prevent respiratory complications due to pain after cardiac catheterization. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of breathing muscle relaxation exercises on pain reduction in patients after cardiac catheterization. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-post test approach, which was conducted in May-July 2018. The research subjects used inclusion criteria, namely patients undergoing cardiac catheterization at the public hospital in the rebo market area. Measuring instruments in data collection use a structured format. Breathing muscle relaxation exercises are the variables in this study, while the dependent variable is the level of pain after cardiac catheterization. The results of the independent T test and paired T test and the general linear model repeated measures prove the existence of a significant difference in the level of pain between before and after the relaxation exercises of respiratory muscles (P = 0.000). The average level of pain in the intervention group before the deep breathing relaxation exercise was 3.9, while the average level of pain after the deep breathing relaxation exercise decreased to 2.7. While the average level of pain in the control group with a standard given from the hospital that is distraction is 2.6, while the average level of pain after exercise decreased to 1.6.

Lansia merupakan kelompok orang yang paling sering mengalami penurunan kualitas tidur. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan manfaat latihan relaksasi otot progresif untuk menghadirkan rasa nyaman yang dibutuhkan dalam mereduksi penyebab gangguan tidur. Penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kualitas tidur lansia. Rancangan penelitian ini Quasi Experimental dengan pendekatan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel diambil secara Purposive Sampling. Besar sampel 51 responden, terdiri dari 26 responden kelompok intervensi dan 25 responden kelompok kontrol. Kelompok intervensi melakukan latihan relaksasi otot progresif selama empat minggu. Kualitas tidur diukur sebelum dan sesudah latihan relaksasi otot progresif menggunakan instrumen PSQI. Pengukuran dilakukan empat kali, yaitu sebelum intervensi (pre test), dua minggu setelah intervensi (post test 1), tiga minggu setelah intervensi (post test 2), dan empat minggu setelah intervensi (post test 3). Data dianalisis menggunakan t test dan Repeated Anova. Hasil Uji t berpasangan kelompok intervensi menunjukkan nilai t hitung > t tabel, dengan p = 0,000. Pada kelompok kontrol diperoleh nilai t hitung < t tabel, dengan p > 0,05. Uji Repeated Anova memeroleh nilai F hitung (71,415) > F tabel (3,89) dengan p=0,000. Uji t tidak berpasangan didapatkan skor pretest, posttest 1, posttest 2 dan posttest 3 berbeda signifikan antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol dengan p < 0,05. Rata-rata skor PSQI kelompok intervensi menunjukkan kecenderungan penurunan setelah latihan relaksasi otot progresif, sedang kelompok kontrol tidak menunjukkan perubahan skor secara bermakna. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena latihan relaksasi otot progresif bermanfaat menimbulkan respon tenang, nyaman, dan rileks. Implikasi penelitian ini bahwa latihan relaksasi otot progresif secara bermakna meningkatkan kualitas tidur lansia sehingga dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai terapi komplementer dalam tatalaksana gangguan tidur pada lansia sebagai tindakan mandiri keperawatan.Kata kunci: Kualitas tidur, lansia, relaksasi otot progresif.The Effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation Exercise towards Older People’s Quality of SleepAbstractOlder people are the group of people who often experience the decreasing of quality of sleep. Few studies showed the benefit of progressive muscle relaxation exercise to give comfort that is needed to reduce the cause of sleep disturbance. This study aimed to examine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercise towards older people’s quality of sleep. The research design is quasi experimental using pretest-posttest control group design. The sample were recruited using purposive sampling. The total sample were 51 participant which consist of 26 participants in intervention group and 25 participants in control group. Intervention group were conducted progressive muscle relaxation exercise for four weeks. The quality of sleep were measured before and after the exercise using PSQI instrument. The measurements were conducted four times, which were before intervention (pretest), two weeks after intervention (posttest 1), three weeks after intervention (posttest 2), and four weeks after intervention (posttest 3). The data were analyzed using t-test and Repeated ANOVA. The paired t-test for intervention group showed that the score of counted t > table t, with p = 0.000. In the control group, the results showed that counted t < table t score, p >0.005. The repeated ANOVA showed that counted F (71.415) > table F (3.89) with p= 0.000. Independent t-test showed that scores of pretest, posttest 1, posttest 2 and posttest 3 were different significantly between intervention and control groups with p<0.05. The average PSQI scores in intervention group showed a tendency of decreasing after progressive muscle relaxation exercise, while in the control group there was no significant changes in the scores. This is because the progressive muscle relaxation exercise is benefit to give calming, comforting and relaxing responses. The implication of this study is that progressive muscle relaxation exercise can significantly improve the quality of sleep of older people so that this exercise can be considered as a complementary therapy for management of sleep disturbance among older people as an independent nursing care.Keywords: Older people, progressive muscle relaxation exercise, quality of sleep.

This study aimed to determine the differences between the effectiveness of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Slow Deep Breathing Exercise (SDBE) on BP of hypertension patients. The research was an experiment with a randomized pretest and posttest with three group design without a control group. The sample was 30 people with hypertension. The data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and miltivariate. The results of the study showed a decrease in systolic and diastolic BP after the intervention to all groups. There was no significant difference on the effectiveness between the three groups after intervention. The optimal time of reduction in systolic BP in the PMR and SDBE groups occurred on day three. In diastolic BP, the optimal time of reduction did not occur. In conclusion, the three relaxation techniques effectively reduced blood pressure of hypertension patients. The effective time of blood pressure reduction occurred on the third day. The suggestion for patients from this study is the patients with hypertension can do the relaxation techniques Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) and Slow Deep Breathing Exercise (SDBE) to lower the BP to close to normal. Stress and hypertension have a reciprocal relationship where hypertension can increase stress, and stress will also increase blood pressure. Therefore we need an effort to control stress in patients with hypertension to prevent increasing blood pressure that can cause complications such as congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, and stroke. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness differences of finger handheld and deep breathing relaxation techniques to decrease heart rate and stress levels of primary hypertension patients. The research design used experimental quasi. The research was conducted in Kembaran and East Purwokerto District, Banyumas, Indonesia. The sampling technique used a simple random sampling approach, with a total sample of 50 respondents, 25 respondens got finger handheld relaxation intervention and 25 respondents got intervention deep breathing relaxation. Heart rate and stress level were measured before and after treatment using heart rate (HR) recordings on digital tensimeter and Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS). Data analysis used paired t test and independent t test.  The results showed there were significant differences in HR and stress levels before and after finger handheld relaxation (p = 0,000). There were significant differences in HR (p = 0.010) and significant levels of stress (p = 0.000) before and after deep breathing relaxation. There were significant difference in HR (p = 0.02) and there were no significant difference in stress levels (p = 0.23) after treatment (post test) between those who received finger handheld and deep breathing relaxation techniques. Conclusion: finger handheld and deep breathing relaxation techniques are equally effective in reducing stress levels in primary hypertension patients. Finger handheld relaxation technique is more effective in reducing HR than deep breathing relaxation technique.

This study aims to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing toward the vital signs of hypertensive patients. Using the quasi experiment with pre and post-test without control. The sample size 22 respondent, of each group of 11 people was conducted 7 times intervention, both with progressive muscle relaxation and slow deep breathing. The data collection was conducted using an observation form. The results of hypothesis testing with the Paired T-Test and Wilcoxon found that there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation toward the vital signs, systolic blood pressure, diastolic, and pulse values obtained p = 0.000, while respiration 0.020, body temperature 0.006. Interventions with slow deep breathing obtained p value of systolic 0.011, diastolic 0.001, pulse 0.000, respiration 0.012, and body temperature 0.043. Analysis of differences in the two groups with Independent T-Test obtained the value of systolic blood pressure = 0.001, diastolic 0.066, pulse 0.000, respiration 0.011, and body temperature 0.055. In addition, it concludesthe progressive muscle relaxation has an effect on systolic, diastolic, pulse, body temperature compared to slow deep breathing, but slow deep breathing intervention has more influence on respiration than progressive muscle relaxation.

Adolescence was characterized by the adolescent identity crisis. Adolescents who experienced difficulty can be able to stress. Adolescents who experience academic stress are caused by exhaustion in learning, so many tasks, and full schedules of activities. Treatment which diminishes was of scholastic pressure thought reformist muscle unwinding and profound breathing unwinding methods. The reason for this exploration was to discover the viability of reformist muscle unwinding and procedures profound breathing unwinding toward stress scores in adolescents in the case of high school students in SMK N 1 Jogonalan, Klaten, Indonesia. During this research a quasi experimental design was used. The respondent for this investigation was the students of class X, each group has 9 participants. A random sampling technique was used for sampling. The instruments used were booklets, leaflets, and DASS. Bivariate factual test utilizing Paired t-test and Independent t-test was used for statistical analysis. The stress score was 19.00 before being given progressive muscle relaxation technique and after given progressive muscle relaxation technique, it was reported 16.33. Further, the stress score was 16.67 before the deep breathing relaxation was given and this was 13.78 after the technique of deep breathing relaxation was given. There was a difference in the viability of reformist muscle unwinding with profound breathing unwinding procedures in a pressure score that appeared p-value > 0.05.

Radiographic Mandibular Indices serve as easy and relatively cheap tools for evaluating bone mineralization. Objectives: To examine the effect of age and gender on three mandibular indices: the panoramic mandibular index (PMI), the mandibular ratio (MR) and the mandibular cortical index (MCI), among Libyan population. Methods: The three indices were measured on 317 digital (OPGs) of adult humans (155 males, 162 females). The sample was divided into six age groups (from 18-25 years through 56-65 years). The measurements were analyzed for interactions with age and sex, using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Studies) software version no. 22. The tests employed were two way ANOVA, the unpaired T-test and chi-square test. Results: The mean PMI fluctuated between 0.37 s.d. 0.012 and 0.38 s.d. 0.012. among the sixth age groups. One-way ANOVA statistical test revealed no significant of age on PMI. On the other hand gender variation has effect on PMI, since independent sample t-test disclosed that the difference between the male and female PMI means statistically significant. ANOVA test showed that the means of MR among age groups showed a negative correlation i.e. MR mean declined from 3.01 in 18-25 age groups to 2.7 in 55-65 age groups. In contrary, the gender showed no effect on MR according two sample t-test at p> 0.05. In regards with MCI, statistical analysis showed that it affected by age that is C1 was decreasing by age while C2 and C3 were increased by age. Using chi square test the result indicated that there is a significant difference among the different age group and the two genders in MCI readings. Conclusion: PMI was influenced significantly by age but minimally by the gender. MR is not affected by gender but has a negative correlation with age. MCI is affected by both age and gender

This study aims to prove that there is a difference of perception about ethics on tax evasion in UNISMA Bekasi students, based on selected study program and gender. The sample of this research is the students who have fulfilled the subject of taxation, at the Faculty of Economics (FE) and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Using independent t-test, the results showed that there was no significant difference of perception about tax evasion ethics between FE and FISIP students. But significant differences the perception of tax evasion ethics occur between accounting and management students at FE. Significant differences also did not occur between male and female students

Background and purpose: The earlier development of the attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding produces the longer exclusive breastfeeding duration. Considering the first marriage age among Indonesian, the attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding should be developed at the adolescence age. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the attitude toward breastfeeding concept based comic on the adolescent's attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding. Method: This was a quasy experimental posttest only with control group study. The respondents were provided an comic. The respondent's attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding was measured using The Breastfeeding Attitude Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using independent and dependent t test. Results: The majority of respondents were aged 17 years old in both intervention (70%) and control grup (63%), first child in both intervention (23,3%) and control grup (26,7%), and had a nuclear family in both intervention (80%) and control grup (90%). The independent t test showed that there was a significant difference between post-test scores among the intervention and control groups (t = 5,602, p < 0,01). Conclusion and recommendation: Nurses may use the Attitude Toward Breastfeeding based comic to increase the Adolescence's attitude toward breastfeeding.Keywords: Comic, Attitudes Toward Exclusive Breastfeeding, Adolescence

ABSTRACT Toilet training is an effort to train children to be able to control and urinate (BAK) and defecate (BAB). Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children at toddler age. Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children in toddler age which is very important to be done to create independence in children in controlling BAK and BAB and children know the parts of the body and their functions. Data in 2012 shows that ± 60% of parents do not teach toilet training to children from an early age. The aim of the study was to find out the effectiveness of toilet training education on maternal behavior and toilet skills in toddler age training (18-36 months). The study was conducted in July-August 2018. This type of quantitative research used the design of the Quasy pretest and posttest experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Samples were 36 mothers and 36 children with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used Paired t test, Wilcoxon test, Man-Whitney test an Independent t test. The results showed that toilet training education through lecture methods, modules and maze games was more effective than toilet training education through lecture and leaflet methods on children's knowledge and abilities. Conversely, for the role of mothers in supervision there is no significant difference in effectiveness. Health education is recommended in health promotion programs to increase maternal knowledge, the role of mothers and the ability of toilet training children independently. This study aims to determine the university students’ level of motivation in terms of different variables. A study group of this research has been designed through one of the non-random sampling methods, Using appropriate sampling, 606 students from Faculty of Education of C.U. have been involved in this study. Motivation scale in English Language Learning developed by Mehdiyev,Usta,Uğurlu (2015) was used as an instrument of data collection. T-test and one - way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to resolve problems of this research. As a result of the research the motivation level of university students hasn’t been revealed significantly different regarding to the gender variable. However, considering the t-test results of motivation scale dimensions, confidence, attitude and personal use, significant difference is seen in favour of women in personal use dimension. The level of language learning motivation of female students is higher than men’s regarding to personal use dimension. However, men’s and women’s views don’t differ significantly in attitude and confidence dimensions. University students don’t present significant differences in terms of birth place, parent’s education level, total motivation scores and confident, attitude and personal dimensions. Students’ motivation levels are seen not to be influenced by the places such as village, provision or city where they have spent the most of their lifetime. At the same time the findings revealed that parental status variable in terms of primary, secondary and university graduates has no effects on students’ motivation.
