This research is background by a low mathematical ability of students’ reasoning and learning activities in mathematics. Therefore, the aim of this research is to increase students’ reasoning and learning activities with the implementation of problem solving learning model. Type of research is classroom action research which have a cycle model consist of four components, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. This research conducted in two cycles that consisting of four meetings. At each cycle student activities during the learning process were observed, and at the end of each cycle a test of learning outcomes was given. The research is carried out with 30 fifth grade students from a public elementary school in semester 2 of the 2019/2020 school year. The instruments used were observation, and field notes, interviews and test results. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using qualitative analysis, analyzing the collection of data until all data has been collected. The data is reduced based on the problem under study, followed by the presentation of the data and finally the conclusion or verification. The results show that fifth grade students’ mathematicalreasoning and learning activities increase after the implementation of problem solving learning model.

Abstract: Mathematical reasoning ability is an ability that needs to be trained. To improve it, an attractive learning model is needed and requires active students. The purpose of the study was to explain the differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities using a quasi-experimental quantitative method. Data obtained from pre-test and post-test data. The results showed no difference in the mathematical reasoning ability of fifth grade students using the Jigsaw and NHT learning models as evidenced by 0.878 smaller than 2.002. Sig. Value (2-tailed) bigger than 0.05 which is 0.384 bigger than 0.05. Nilai Sig. (2-tailed) lebih dari 0,05 yaitu 0,384 lebih dari 0,05.

This research is motivated by the low ability to solve mathematical problems in fifth grade students of SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1 Bekasi Utara. Seen when researchers provide exercises in the description of mathematical problems in the form of stories on fraction material. There is still a lack of student knowledge regarding fractional material. When working on the story problem students simply add up or subtract the denominator by the denominator and the numerator by the numerator, without first equating the denominator. Students have not been able to solve problems correctly and many are still wrong. The lack of students' ability to infer results obtained from mathematical story problems. Enthusiastic students are lacking in solving mathematical story problems that are considered difficult. This study aims to improve the ability to solve mathematical problems using problem solving models in fifth grade students at SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1, North Bekasi. The research method uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 3 cycles.. The conclusion of this study is the problem solving model can improve the ability to solve mathematical problems in fifth grade students at SDN Kaliabang Tengah 1 Bekasi Utara.

This research is motivated by the lack of reasoning and problem-solving skills math class V students on the subject of the story about the multiplication and division of fractions. Students are less able to understand and decipher the core issues contained in the matter of the story. In addition, students difficulty changing story problems into mathematical form. This makes the learning achievements of students who achieved less than the maximum.Issues examined in this study were (1) Is the mathematical reasoning fifth grade students Karangayu SD N 02 Semarang can reach the learning criterion was after receiving RME? (2) Is there any difference in the ability to solve mathematical problems Karangayu fifth grade students of SDN 02 Semarang after receiving RME learning? This research is quantitative. By using the design / design study pre-experimental design types of one- group pre-test-post-test design. Based on the pre-test and post-test reasoning variables obtained average value of 51.38 in the pre-test criteria for low and average value of the post-test 65.06 on the criterion of moderate / normal. The research hypothesis has been mentioned that, H01 is rejected and thank Ha1 the mathematical reasoning fifth grade students Karangayu SD N 02 Semarang reach criterion medium / normal after getting learning RME (Realistic Mathematic Education). While the t-test on the variable math problem-solving skills obtained t count> t table = 5.971> 2.021. The research hypothesis has been mentioned that, H01 and thank Ha1 denied that there are differences in the ability to solve mathematical problems graders V SD N Karangayu 02 Semarang after getting learning RME.

In mathematics, students' ability to solve problems is very much needed. Every student has different abilities. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct a research in order to find out the students' abilities in solving problems in mathematics, especially in fractional material. In researching, quantitative description is the method chosen by the researcher. In this study using a research instrument in the form of a test to measure students' ability to solve mathematical problems and conducted interviews. Data analysis of the results of mathematical tests about solving fractions of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kalirejo is in the high category. This is evident from the results of tests at SD Negeri 2 Kalirejo that included in the high category were 61.29%, moderate were 23.80% and the low and very low categories were 12.89%.

This unit began as a favor for a friend who needed some examples of children writing about mathematics. but it ended as a marvelous activity for the first week of school. The unit consisted of a series of lessons that furnished my fifth-grade students with a review of geometry and problem solving using geometric concepts and allowed them to communicate with each other about these concepts both in writing and orally.

Mathematical reasoning is the ability to think about mathematical problems, namely by thinking logically about mathematical problems to get conclusions about problem solutions. There are several factors that can affect students' mathematical reasoning, including mathematical abilities. Dissimilarity of students' mathematical abilities allows for dissimilarity in their mathematical reasoning abilities. So, this research intends to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving social arithmetic problems based on dissimilarity in mathematical abilities. The purpose of this research was to describe qualitative data about the mathematical reasoning abilities of students with high, medium, or low abilities in solving social arithmetic problems. The instrument used was the Mathematical Ability Test to determine the three research subjects, followed by a Problem Solving Test to get qualitative data about students' mathematical reasoning abilities, then interviews to get deeper data that was not obtained through written tests. Thus, the research data were analyzed using mathematical reasoning indicators. From the result of data analysis, it was found that all students understood the problem well. Students with high and medium mathematical abilities are determining and implementing problem solving strategies properly, namely writing down the step for solving them correctly and making accurate conclusions by giving logical argumens at aech step of the solution. However, students with low mathematical abillities have difficulty in determining and implementing problem solving strategies because they do not understand the concept, thus writing the steps to solve the problems incorrectly and not giving accurate conclusions about the correctness of the solution. Keywords: mathematical reasoning, problem solving, mathematical abilities
