Since the Industrial Revolution, a new era has arisen called the Anthropocene, in which human actions have become the main driver of global environmental change outside the stable environmental state of the Holocene. During the Holocene, environmental change occurred naturally, and the Earth’s regulatory capacity maintained the conditions that enabled human development. Resource overexploitation of the industrial “Anthropocene”, under the principle of profit maximization, has led to planetary ecological crises, such as overloaded carbon sinks and climate changes, vanishing species, degraded ecosystems, and insufficient natural resources. Agro-based society, in which almost all demands of humans can be supported by agriculture, is characterized by life production. The substitution of Agro-based society for a post-industrial society is an evolutionary result of social movement, it is an internal requirement of a sustainable society for breaking through the resource constraint of economic growth. The core feature of agriculture is to use organisms as production objects and rely on life processes to achieve production goals. The substitution of Agro-based society for a post-industrial society is the precondition for a sustainable carbon cycle, breaking through the resource limits of the industrial “Anthropocene”, alleviating the environmental pressure of economic development, and promoting society from increasing disorderly entropy to orderly decreasing entropy. Meanwhile, technological advancements and growing environmental awareness of society make it feasible for the substitution of an agro-based society for a post-industrial society.

This paper examines the feasibility of fintech as a platform for sustainable economic growth and as a prompter of the fourth industrial revolution. To analyze the role of fintech in the national economy, we first broaden its definition and compare its economic performance using three methodologies—Demand-driven model, Supply-driven model and industry linkage effect in interindustry analysis. We find that the fintech industry has a stronger effect on production inducement. Regarding industry linkage effects, fintech ranked the top in all 31 industries for the forward linkage effect and 22 for the background linkage effect—much higher than the traditional financial industry. This implies that the fintech industry is effective as the intermediate good with national demand as well as the final good. Particularly, this industry plays the roles of intermediate and final goods across almost all industries. That is, fintech could better promote overall national economic performance as a platform industry. Because most businesses within the fintech industry depend on innovation through the integration of finance and information technology, we find that fintech can feasibly prompt the fourth industrial revolution. Nonetheless, this industry is characterized by excessive regulations in Korea, indicating the need for negative regulation for new, innovative businesses within the fintech industry that would critically emphasize innovativeness for inclusive, sustainable economic growth.

AbstractGaslight emerged as a new industry after 1800 in Britain, but not in other countries in Europe where the technology existed as well. Among the many groups trying, it was only the firm of Boulton & Watt that succeeded in commercializing the invention for two important reasons. The first was that they possessed skills and experience related to ironworking and to making scientific instruments, both of which they used as they developed gaslight apparatus. This development involved an extensive series of experiments that ultimately had its root in James Watt's own work with pneumatic chemistry. The second reason was that they possessed many resources such as access to capital, their existing network of industrial customers, and their abilities to publicize their work. As with the steam engine, the firm proved adept at advertising. Boulton & Watt did not give their full attention to gaslight except in two spurts between 1805 and 1809, and by around 1812 they had lost almost all interest in the technology. By this time, however, they had solved many problems associated with scaling up gaslight apparatus for industrial use, they had trained many people who would go on to do further important work in the early years of the industry, and they had drawn extensive public attention to the new invention. Finally, their advertising involved elevating the status of William Murdoch as an inventor while minimizing the role of the firm.

The wave of industrial revolution 4.0 influences almost all aspects of every life, covering the fishermen’s activities. In order to survive in global competition, traditional fishermen must work hard, fast, smartly, and appropriately to increase production. However, the existence of taboos and local beliefs that has been considered as a device of maintaining environment may become obstacle of their activities. The study aims to identify the influence of the taboos and beliefs controlling the Fisheries Community in North Coast of Central Java on their daily activities to survive as well as to develop their environment. Data on the research are the narrative of the respondents regarding the taboos and beliefs they have listened. Data are gathered through deep interview of six respondents from three fishing areas, those are Demak, Kendal, and Semarang. Using critical discourse analysis approach, the researchers found that local taboos influence their perception that certain natural phenomena are controlled by spirits, so that some bad events happened to the community may be interpreted as consequences of violating the taboos. The beliefs construct by the governed by the unseen power rather than usual phenomena. This gives impact to the way they develop their environment.

Background of the study: The reality of the inevitability of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era that must be faced by X University and will have an impact on the X Library towards Library 4.0 has become a serious concern at X University. Thus, it is important to conduct a research study on the readiness of the X Library in implementing Library 4.0.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the readiness of the X library to implement Library 4.0 in the face of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 by referring to the TORC (Theory of Organizational Readiness for Change), in terms of five contextual factors- the policies and procedures, past experience, organizational resources (human resources and technological resources), organizational structure, and organizational culture.Method: The research method used this study is mixed methods, which combine quantitative and qualitative approaches.Findings: The results showed that the level of organizational readiness in implementing Library 4.0 is the mean value of 2,60. This showed that the X Library is not ready, and needs some of work to implement Library 4.0Conclusion: Based on the five contextual factors to measure organizational readiness toward Library 4.0, it showed that almost all of them are the level of not ready, but there is one factor that shows it is quite ready- the policies and procedures. The lack of organizational readiness because leadership is an important key related to contextual factors that affect the readiness of Library X towards Library 4.0.

Today we live in a technology driven world. Industrial revolution gave birth to giant machines for industrial advancement and information technology has delivered intelligent machines to revolutionize human development. Today we are surrounded by automated smart technology, which has touched almost all spheres of human life, from military to medicine and from education to the election. Electronic banking or e-banking is the fusion of information technology with the banking system. Thus the term electronic banking generically refers to various terms connected with virtual banking and often interchangeably used with the term internet banking. The Rangarajan Committees drew a phased plan for bank computerization in the 1980’s which recommended computerization of banks at various levels. The systematic use of Core Banking Solution (CBS) was another milestone development in the history of ebanking in India.

Abstract This paper shows that the most remarkable aspect of the far-reaching industrial development of Hamilton, Ontario by the early 1870s was that it was achieved largely through the adaptation and expansion of pre-existing structures of production firmly rooted in the traditional crafts world. The early industrialization of Hamilton was combined and uneven, but handicraft production stood in distinction to the enlarged manufactory. “Modern Industry,” in what limited form it may have existed at all, had yet to establish itself as a typical form of industrial enterprise. All this is not surprising, since almost all those men leading the industrialization of the city were themselves former artisans and craftsworkers intimately familiar with the techniques and possibilities of craft production. This paper delineates the structures of early industrialization to suggest the pressing need for historians to reconsider the potential for continuity of craftsworker experience during early industrialization.

The era of revolution 4.0 is an era where almost all data processing transactions are connected to each other, so the decisions taken by a leader in the work culture of employees can be easily monitored. The objective of this research is to study the effect of work culture and leadership on employee commitment. The process of research was conducted at PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. it has used case study methode. The samples of research were 105 employee of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. that were selected in a simple random sampling. The results of finding are: (1) there is a positively direct effect of work culture on employee commitment, (2) there is a positively direct effect of leadership on employee commitment (3) there is a positive direct effect of work culture and leadership together on employee commitment.
