Long Covid: what is already known about this new condition? Long COVID affects people who have experienced a severe form of COVID-19, as well as patients who suffered a mild form. Six months after infection with the coronavirus, at least 1 out of 7 patients still have symptoms. These symptoms are very diverse and are probably related to a combination of different mechanisms: direct organ damage due to the viral infection, abnormal immune and inflammatory responses that can lead to dysfunctions on several levels (microcirculation, coagulation, fibrosis, autoimmunity, metabolism), consequences of the hospitalisation (muscle atrophy, post-intensive care syndrome) or worsening of existing comorbidities. The Belgian Healthcare Knowledge Centre (KCE) surveyed the experience of Belgian patients by means of an extensive online survey of 1,320 people, followed by an online forum and in-depth interviews. It showed that the perception of the symptoms was very diverse, with a clear reduction in the quality of life, some loss of autonomy and difficulties when returning to work. The psychological consequences could be severe. Based on the current state of science, it is not known which treatments are effective for long COVID. A symptom-oriented approach, focused on gradual multidisciplinary rehabilitation, seems appropriate. Therefore, the main recommendation of the KCE is to investigate the possibility of introducing an ‘interdisciplinary bilan’ for patients with different and interrelated complaints.

59 Background: Each year nearly 70,000 adolescents and young adults (AYAs) are diagnosed with cancer. Recently, steps have been taken to address infertility, which is an important issue experienced by AYAs. For example, ASCO QOPI includes fertility standards and Walgreens and the LIVESTRONG Foundation provide financial assistance for fertility preservation medications. To better understand the current state of fertility preservation, eight questions on this topic were included on the LIVESTRONG Survey. Methods: From June to December 2012, LIVESTRONG conducted an online survey (N = 6,313). Analysis here includes the 1,333 AYA respondents who were diagnosed since 2002. Results: Only 24% of respondents (42% of males, 12% of females) indicated they took steps to preserve their fertility before beginning treatment. Top reasons for not preserving their fertility were not receiving information about options (19%) and/or information about the risks to their fertility (14%). For the AYAs who did preserve their fertility, the median amount spent on fertility expenses was between $1,000 and $2,499 (Table) with males spending significantly less than females (p < 0.001). Mostly commonly, males used sperm banking (97%) while females used egg and embryo banking (each 35%). The majority all who attempted to become pregnant were successful (58% and 68% respectively). Conclusions: Results from this analysis indicate that few survivors took steps to preserve their fertility before starting treatment. Yet for those who were interested in preserving their fertility and starting a family, the majority of individuals were successful. Many individuals reported not preserving their fertility due to a lack of information or resources. While a relatively small number of survivors will have fertility concerns, this is an important quality of life issue for those who do. [Table: see text]

Objective To describe the disruptions in care experienced by persons with Multiple Sclerosis in Italy due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the self-reported impact on their health and wellbeing. Methods A cross-sectional online survey was completed by 2722 persons with Multiple Sclerosis, after Italy instituted a national lockdown in response to the pandemic. Results Persons with Multiple Sclerosis reported that the pandemic caused broad disruptions to usual health and social care services, which impacted on their health and wellbeing. Disruptions in care were consistently associated with negative self-reported impacts on the expected progression of the disease, on out-of-pocket expenditure and on carer’s stress. Psychological consequences were associated with interruption to usual psychological support, and concerns about the safety of care delivered in person. Conclusions The quality of life of persons with Multiple Sclerosis depends greatly on prompt access to a broad range of health and care services. Negative psychological impacts reported by persons with Multiple Sclerosis with less severe disabilities show that accessible integrated services are crucial for maintenance of their wellbeing. Most persons with Multiple Sclerosis with more severe disability experienced negative impacts on perceived health. Their carers compensating for lack of social input resulted in care overburden. As continuity of care is crucial for persons with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as for persons with chronic conditions in general, strategies must be in place to ensure it is included in future pandemic response plans.

The article presents information on the current state of the problem of autoinflammatory diseases (AID) in rheumatology, reflects the clinical and demographic, laboratory and molecular genetic characteristics of the main monogenic AID (mAID), the most common in real clinical practice. Approaches to the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of these conditions are presented. The variants of classification and diagnostic criteria of the most studied mAID are discussed. The principles of treatment with an emphasis on the use of targeted therapy with interleukin 1 (IL1) inhibitors are shown. The clinical examples demonstrate the variants of late diagnosis of the mAID in adult patients with the disease onset in childhood. Different variants of multi-organ damage are considered. Effectiveness of therapy with IL1β inhibitor kanakinumab is demonstrated. Even in such cases it provided the possibility of significant symptoms regression and restoration of a satisfactory quality of life.

The accuracy and reliability is the quality of the information. The more accurate and reliable, the more information it’s good quality. Similarly, a survey, the better the survey, the more accurate the information provided. Implementation of student satisfaction measurement to the process of teaching and learning activities on the quality of the implementation of important lectures in order to get feedback on the assessed variables and for future repair. Likewise in Higher Education Prog has undertaken the process of measuring student satisfaction through a distributed questioner finally disemester each class lecture. However, the deployment process questioner is identified there are 7 (seven) problems. However, the problem can be resolved by the 3 (three) ways of solving problems one of which is a system of iLearning Survey (Isur), that is by providing an online survey to students that can be accessed anywhere and anytime. In the implementation shown a prototype of Isur itself. It can be concluded that the contribution Isur system can maximize the decision taken by the Higher Education Prog. By using this Isur system with questions and evaluation forms are submitted and given to the students and the other colleges. To assess the extent to which the campus has grown and how faculty performance in teaching students class, and can be used as a media Isur valid information for an assessment of activities throughout college.

The purpose of the study was to explore modes, strategies, and consequences of cyberbullying perpetration and victimization among university students. In-depth interviews of 14 volunteer university students (8 male and 6 female) were conducted who volunteered to participate in the study in which 10 participants were “cybervictims” whereas 4 were “cyberbully-victim”. Interview guide was used for conducting unstructured interviews. Thematic analysis of the interviews revealed different experiences in cyberspace with respect to gender and role (cybervictim and cyberbully-victim) in experiencing cyberbullying and cyber-victimization. Three themes emerged that is psychological consequences (emotional, behavioral, and cognitive), social consequences (family and peers), and change in lifestyle (online, offline, and academic). Facebook was found to be the most prevalent mode of cyberbullying. The cyberbully-victim participants derived more happiness while bullying and had revengeful attitude; whereas, cybervictims experienced more depression, increased family surveillance, social isolation, and became aware of negative consequences of social networking sites, became more vigilant and conscious in cyberspace. Moreover, the consequences reported by cyberbully-victim were distrust on security settings, low academic achievement, and their peers learnt from their cyberspace experience. Perception of cyber-victimization was different across gender and its psychological impact was more pronounced for girls than boys. The results and implications were discussed in Pakistani context.

Podkarpackie Voivodeship is one of the regions of Poland in which the number of agritourism entities is very high. Therefore tourism plays a significant role in its development strategy. The aim of the paper is to identify the current state of agritourism and the changes that have occurred in the region in the years 2000–2016. Specific objectives are to determine the distribution of agritourism farms and their offer, together with a comprehensive analysis of the environmental and socio-economic factors, as well as the impact of the Slovak-Ukrainian border. The report was developed on the statistical materials from the Polish Central Statistical Office, Podkarpackie Agricultural Advisory Centre in Boguchwała and data collected from municipalities and district offices that is published on their websites, as well as through interviews with 100 owners of agritourism farms in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The research has shown, on the one hand, the decline in the number of farms in the region and, on the other hand, the increase in the diversity of the tourist offer of these entities. Distribution of agritourism farms is closely linked to the attractiveness of natural environment and quality of secondary tourism resources. Traditional agritourism has not yet fully used its countryside, as well as cross-border advantages of its location.

We developed and implemented an annual online survey to administer to residents exiting residency training in order to (1) assess the quality of the residency experience and (2) identify areas of strength and areas requiring improvement. Long-term goals include program planning, policy-making and maintenance of quality control. Survey content was developed from an environmental scan, pre-existing survey instruments, examination of training criteria established by the CFPC and the CanMEDS criteria established by the RCPSC. The survey included evaluation benchmarks and satisfaction ratings of program director and faculty, preparation for certification and practice, quality of life, quality of education, and work environment. The response rate was 28%. Seventy-five percent of respondents were exiting from Royal College training programs. Results of descriptive statistics determined that the overall educational experience was rated highly, with 98.9% of respondents satisfied or very satisfied with their overall patient care experience. Ninety-six percent of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall quality of teaching. Preparation for practice was identified as needing improvement, with 26% and 34% of respondents giving an unsatisfactory rating to career guidance and assistance with finding employment, respectively. Although 80% of respondents reported receiving ongoing feedback and 84% discussed their evaluations with their supervisors, only 38% of evaluations were completed by the end of the rotation. The results indicate that residents are generally satisfied with their experiences during residency training, especially with their overall educational experience. Areas of improvement include preparation for practice and timeliness of evaluations. Further iterations of this survey are needed to refine the instrument, identify data trends and maintain quality control in residency training programs. Frank JR (ed.). Tinnitus is a common otologic symptom and probably the most troublesome. Tinnitus causes a number of physical and psychological consequences, that interfere with the quality of life of the patient. Many authors believe that the presence of tinnitus in children is a matter of lesser importance than in adults because it is met less frequently and would be a fleeting symptom, inoffensive for them (Graham, 1981). In addition, the prevalence of tinnitus during adolescence and even in young adults is increasing, possibly as a consequence of the increased ambient noise (Bulbul SF, Shargorodsky J). Various therapeutic approaches have generated different results, which led us to consider the role of psychological factors, hence the need to underline the particularities of this symptom in childhood.

Aspire of the Drug Utilization Studies (DUS) is to appraise factors related to the prescribing, dispensing, administering and taking of medication, and it’s associated. Since the middle of twentieth century, interest in DUS has been escalating, first for market-only purposes, then for appraising the quality of medical prescription and comparing patterns of use of specific drugs. The scope of DUS is to evaluate the current state and future trends of drug usage, to estimate roughly disease pervasiveness, drug expenditures, aptness of prescriptions and adherence to evidence-based recommendations. The increasing magnitude of DUS as a valuable investigation resource in pharmacoepidemiology has been bridging it with other health allied areas, such as public health, rational use of drug, evidence based drug use, pharmacovigilance, pharmacoeconomics, eco-pharmacovigilance and pharmacogenetics.
