 Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the determinants of growth for women owned SMEs in Nairobi County in Kenya.Methodology: The population of the study was 100 exhibitions which were spread across five zones in Nairobi County. The target population was 500 small businesses. Stratified random sampling technique was used to determine the sample size.  A sample size of 100 SMEs was used. This study used primary data which was collected through use of a questionnaire. Descriptive analysis was employed; which included; mean frequencies and percentages.  Inferential statistics such as correlation and regression analysis were used. The analysis was done using MS-EXCEL and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 17. The analyzed data was presented in frequency and percentage tables or pie charts.Results: The study results revealed that there was a positive and significant relationship between education and training and SME’s growth, there was negative and significant relationship between access to productive resources and SME’s growth, there was negative and significant relationship between competitive environment and SME’s growth and that there was a positive relationship between gender specific factors and SME’s growth. The results also revealed that there was a positive relationship between SME’s growth and women empowerment.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The study recommended that the Government of Kenya (GOK), responsible authorities and the society at large should work hand in hand with women owners/managers of SME’s to aid them in terms of education and skills, finance and competitive environment in order to empower them.

Purpose: To determine the stakeholder aspects influencing implementation of food security projects in Msambweni District, KenyaMethodology: The study adopted a cross sectional descriptive case study. The population to be comprised the residents of Msambweni district who practice farming activities. Sampling of farmers was done at random from the existing divisions and locations of Msambweni district. The primary data was gathered using questionnaires that were semi-structured. Descriptive analysis was used and this included the use of weighted means, standard deviation, relative frequencies and percentages. The results of the analysis were presented using tables, percentages and bar-charts.Results: Results indicated that land ownership was a key determinant in influencing food projects implementation. The findings indicated that land ownership made the implementation of food security projects easy and faster. There was a positive and significant relationship between food security project implementation and land ownership. The findings also indicated that there are taboos in their community which discourage some types of farming methods and some food crops and if people in Msambweni were to disregard cultural beliefs farm productivity and food sufficiency would change positively. The findings were also supported by a negative correlation and the relationship between food project and cultural practices was found not to be statistically significant. Results indicated that farming methods and inputs were key determinants of food security project implementation. The findings indicated that farming methods influenced the implementation of food projects at Msambweni district.  The correlation between farming methods and food security project implementation was found to be strong and positive. Results indicated that education was a key factor that influences food security project implementation. However the findings also indicated that education level of the respondents did not matter so much as long as they apply the correct farming methods and attend farming seminars and workshops. There results also showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between education level and food security project implementation.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Based on the results, it is recommended to the farmers to ensure that they retain their own lands and avoid selling and put the land into good use by practicing farming. It is recommended to the farmers that they review the existing taboos and beliefs and disregard them as this can lead to improved food security due to embracement of the government food security project implementation. It is also recommended that the farmers should have an open mind in fighting hunger as this will ensure that all people work to the betterment of improving food security issues regardless of the religion and culture. It is further recommended to the farmers to evaluate the advantages of mechanized farming methods and traditional farming practices and embrace the better option. The study also recommends that the farmers should attend the farmer’s workshops and seminars organized by the government to exchange ideas and learn also new tactics of farming activities. The study recommends that the farmers to organize themselves in groups to invite the agricultural officers so that they can be trained on various farming methods and on how to improve their productivity. It is also recommended that the government should look for ways of communication modern methods of farming using locally understood languages to ensure that the whole country embraces changes at the same pace.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of VAT Incentive on the performance of EPZ firms in Kenya.Methodology: This research used correlation research design. Sample size of all the 86 registered EPZs firms was used in this study. Primary data was obtained using questionnaires. Secondary data from the registered firms was collected on; ROA, number and value of jobs and the length of stay of the firms. The study used both descriptive and inferential statistics to conduct data analysis.Results: The results of study revealed that at 5% significance level, VAT incentives had a positive and significant relationship with performance of EPZ firms measured using ROA. The results further revealed that at 5% significance level, VAT incentives were found to have positive and significant relationship with performance of EPZ firms measured using the number of total jobs created in Kenya. The results also revealed that at 5% significance level, VAT incentives were found to have positive and significant relationship with performance of EPZ firms measured using the number of years in operationUnique contribution to theory, practice and policy Based on the study findings, it was recommended that the government should reconsider its VAT policy by encouraging more VAT rebates to firms in order to boost their productivity and increase the volume of exports. The study also recommends that the government should introduce a strong monitoring unit to oversee the administration of tax incentives. Government should equally pay attention to the issue of security and infrastructure which are basic in order to maximize the benefits of tax incentives.

This research has purpose to find out participation of susuripen farmer group’s member in the wailan sub district, north tomohon district, tomohon city. This research been carried out for three months, from April 2016 to June 2016, start from preparation until the prepration of reports. Data used in this research is primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from direct interview to the respodents with using questionnaires and secondary data obtained from government agencies which related to the location. Sampling technique used census method with the total of Susuripen farmer groups member is 20 people been interviewed with the questionnaires. Data analysis in this research used descriptive analysis and also likert scale, with level 1 (less active), 2 (active), 3 (very active). This research found based on the analysis using likert scale, that total index of member participation in the Susuripen farmer groups in decision making phase which cover the activeness in the meeting attendance and activeness in the giving opininon. Member participation in the realization activity which covers, activeness in the rice paddy cultivation, activeness in the Horticulture cultivation, activeness in the rice paddy harvest and post-harvest, activeness in the agricultural extension attendance, activeness in the mandatory contribution. Member participation in the evaluation phase which covers involvement in monitoring groups’ activity, involvement in calculating agribusiness outputs. With 79,8 categorized high. Further analysis shows that the member participation level in Susuripen farmer groups with score 479 from presumption that highest score is 600 and lowest score 200. Suggestion in this research based on the summary for the government or locals is motivate member participation in Susuripen farmer groups in the Wailan sub district, north Tomohon district, Tomohon city because that is the main key and main business in the food security development.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish the influence of cost of credit on consumer satisfaction, a case of the NIC bank limited.Methodology: The descriptive survey research design was preferred for the study. The population of the study was over 10,000 credit card holders in NIC Bank. Snow balling sampling technique was appropriate for this study because credit card customers were not keen on cooperating because of the sensitivity of information gathered and only cooperated on referral from friends. Fishers’ formula was used for calculating the sample size of an infinite population which amounted to 384 but for the purpose of improving the response rate, the study added 16 more respondents to total up to 400. The study used primary data. The study used a questionnaire as the preferred data collection tool. Information was sorted, coded and input into the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for production of descriptive and inferential statistics. The results were presented using tables and pie charts to give a clear picture of the research findings.Results: Based on the findings, the study conclded that that credit card interest rate was competitive compared to other offerings in the market, the credit card interest rate is better than overdraft rates.  It was concluded that the credit card interest rate was affordable compared to shylock interest rates. Results led to the conclusion that the penalties were lower than those of competitors. Study results show that the credit card joining fee was affordable compared to other products, the credit card joining fee was lower than that of competitors. Results also led to the conclusion that the penalties were very high. Results also led to the conclusion that credit card interest rate were affordable compared to Sacco interest.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Based on the findings, the study recommends that the Government should legalise the interest rate within the banks and make it affordable to the consumers. In addition the banks should lower the credit card joining fee as this will motivate more customers to join and therefore an additional benefit the banks.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sajian informasi pelatihan usaha dengan sikap peserta pada Program Melati. Dinas Koperasi dan UMKN Kota Bandung melalukan berbagai upaya untuk mecapai target yang sudah ditentukan oleh pemerintah disamping mencari solusi untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pengusaha kecil terhadap rentenir sebagai sumber modal usaha, salah satunya adalah melakukan pelatihan – pelatihan terhadap calon – calon pengusaha yang berada di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif jenis penelitian korelasional. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Integrasi Informasi dari Martin Fishbein. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial dengan menggunakan rumus rank spearman. Sampel dari penelitian ini 95 orang dari 126 peserta kegiatan yang terambil dengan cara teknik sampling acak sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan hubungan yang cukup berarti antara pelatihan usaha Dinas KUMKM dengan sikap peserta terhadap Program Melati. Valensi dan bobot informasi Pelatihan Usaha Dinas KUMKM Kota Bandung memiliki hubungan yang cukup berarti dengan sikap peserta terhadap Program Melati. Dinas KUMKM Kota Bandung seharusnya lebih memperhatikan penentuan alur informasi yang menyentuh keyakinan peserta terhadap kredit melati, dengan cara dapat mengikutsertakan pihak Bank yang menjadi rekanan pemerintah sebagai narasumber pelatihan.Kata Kunci: Informasi, Integrasi Informasi, Pelatihan Usaha, Sikap.Abstract.This study aims to determine the relationship between the grain business training information with the attitude of the participants of the Programme Budget. This study uses a quantitative type of correlational research. The theory used is the Information Integration Theory of Martin Fishbein. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using Spearman rank formula. Samples from this study 95 of the 126 participants in the drawn by means of simple random sampling technique. The results of this study showed a significant relationship between the Office business training participants KUMKM attitude towards Program Budget. Valance and weight information KUMKM Business Training Department Bandung has a significant relationship with the attitude of the participants of the Programme Budget. KUMKM Office of Bandung should pay more attention to the determination of the flow of information that touches the confidence of participants to credit jasmine, by the way can engage the Bank who are the partners of the government as a training resource.Keywords: Information, Information Integration, Business Training, Attitude

This research aims to find out the effect of social assistance information given by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) for donor decision to crowdfunding in Indonesia. Also find a relationship between the predicted factors (public trust, donor altruism, government participation) that related to the effectiveness of information that comes from the government and donor decision after social assistance information by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO). The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The data used in this study are primary data, collected by using the interview method with a questionnaire. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The sample taken 200 respondents in various place in Indonesia.  Data analysis techniques of this study are descriptive analysis techniques and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis techniques. The scale used in this study is a Likert scale. The results showed that social assistance information given by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) has a positive effect on donor decision for crowdfunding in Indonesia.

Every baby has the right to get exclusive mother's water from birth for 6 (six) months, except for medical indications. During the provision of breast milk, the family, the government, the local government and the community must fully support the mother's baby with the provision of special time and facilities. Provision of special facilities is held at work and in public places. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the provision of exclusive breastfeeding by mothers who worked in the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office. The study was conducted using Cross Sectional research design. The population in this study is all mothers who have children under the age of five years using total sampling technique. Data collection techniques using primary data by distributing questionnaires and secondary data are data obtained from the study of documents or files in the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi-Square statistical test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the knowledge of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding by working mothers in the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office, namely 63.6% of mothers who have sufficient knowledge not to provide exclusive breastfeeding, then there is no significant relationship between husband's support and work environment with Exclusive breastfeeding by working mothers at the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office. Keywords: exclusive breastfeeding, husband’s support, mother knowledge, work environment

Introduction. Gamalama Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. The eruption of Gamalama Volcano has direct or indirect dangers to the community, especially school students. The potential for casualties and loss of school infrastructure will increase if students do not follow suit when they are at school. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with disaster preparedness that affects students. Then find out the level of disaster preparedness in high school students. Research methods. The research is a descriptive correlational study, with a total sample of 162 students taken by purposive sampling technique at 4 high schools located in the disaster-prone area of Gamalama Volcano. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis and correlation analysis. Results. The results show that there was a positive and significant relationship between knowledge and disaster preparedness in students (sig. 0.000 <0.01). Likewise, the relationship between attitude and student preparedness has a positive and significant relationship (sig. 0.000 <0.01). Meanwhile, the level of disaster preparedness among students was in the "ready" category, with the value of the preparedness index of 74.57. Conclusions. Knowledge, attitudes, and student disaster preparedness need to be improved, in order to reduce the loss of life and property during a disaster, especially schools located in disaster-prone areas. Then, real efforts from the government, local communities and non-governmental organizations are needed in the volcanic disaster risk reduction program.

In this era, a lot of activities that can not be separated from the practice of cheating or fraud , no exception In the government . Inspektorat Sumenep is the leading institution of internal Local Government in preventing and detecting fraud in the Local Government appropiate Perbup Sumenep No. 29 of 2008 . Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep need attention on the issue . This is due to Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep an agency with the largest number of assets and managing large budgets . These conditions led to the formulation of the problem is How Inspektorat Sumenep role in preventing and detecting fraud in Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep. This study used a qualitative approach in which the focus of this study is Inspektorat role in preventing and detecting fraud at Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep . Primary data obtained by direct interviews with the parties directly related to the determination of the source of research data in a qualitative study using nonprobability sampling . The sampling technique used was purposive sampling . The conclusion of this study, role of the Inspektorat Sumenep in the prevention of fraud in Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep still not maximal . This is due to Inspektorat Sumenep not supervise from the planning / budgeting and not optimal in overseeing and assisting the implementation of the SPIP as an instrument of fraud prevention in Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep . The role of Inspektorat Sumenep in the detection of fraud in Dinas Pendidikan Sumenep done by conducting an audit of financial and asset management in each financial year.Keywords: fraud, government, inspektorat.

The study compared the allocative efficiency and profitability of poultry-egg farmers in Jos metropolis of Plateau State, Nigeria, across different scales. To select 143 respondents, a two-stage sampling technique was used.   Using well-structured questionnaire and interview schedules, primary data on socioeconomic variables were collected. Collected data were analyzed using budgetary technique and stochastic production frontier model. Result of allocative efficiency showed the following: The mean allocative efficiency of the small, medium and large scales was 0.68, 0.12 and 0.11 respectively; the minimum allocative efficiency for small, medium and large scales was 0.30, 0.10 and 0.10 respectively. The maximum allocative efficiency was 0.59, 0.18 and 0.11 respectively for small, medium and large scale farmers. The profitability result indicated that egg production for small, medium and large-scale farms was profitable in the study area with N675, 671.79, N4, 897,236.09 and N16, 327,633.66 per farmer. The rate of return on investment per bird was found to be 19.51%, 31.21% and 83.13% respectively for small, medium and large farm sizes. For small, medium and large-scale farmers respectively, the capital turnover per bird was N 1.20, N1.31 and N1.83. Also, the profitability indices for the small, medium and large scales are N0.16, N0.24 and N0.45. The study recommends that; Farmers should be advised to increase production from small scale to large scale through policies that will promote such, special intervention is needed from the government at all levels through farmers’ cooperatives in the area of inputs subsidy, price efficiency of the farmers could
