This research was a case study with two adolescents experiencing dysmenorrhea as the participants. The instrument being used was a pain measurement observation sheet with the Numerical Pain Intensity Scale. The intervention given to the participants was the implementation of Abdominal Stretching Exercise accompanied by classical music for 10-15 minutes on the first and second days of dysmenorrhea. The result showed that the pain scale before and after the intervention in case 1 decreased from 5 to 0, and in case 2, it decreased from 7 to 1. In conclusion, the implementation of Abdominal Stretching Exercise accompanied by classical: music could reduce dysmenorrhea in adolescents. It is recommended that health workers can teach and implement Abdominal Stretching Exercises accompanied by classical music in reducing dysmenorrhea in adolescents. Keywords: Dysmenorrhea; Abdominal Stretching Exercise; classical music; teenagers AbstrakRemaja seringkali mengalami dismenore saat menstruasi. The research design used was Experimental with Kunsekutive Sampling technique. The population in this study were patients who had migraine in Noreh village. The working area of Puskesmas Sreseh was 18 respondents and the result was analyzed using Shapiro Wilk and Wilcoxon test. The results of the study in migraine patients can be seen that the mean pretest scale of migraine pain scale is 4.67 whereas, for the mean posttest of migraine pain scale is 2.22. In the pretest of migraine pain scale the minimum value found is 4 whereas, the maximum value is 6. While in posttest skalanyeri migraine the minimum value found is 1 whereas, the maximum value is 3. In the Shapiro Wilk analysis showed that there were differences in the scale of migraine pain before and after wet bruise therapy. In the Wilcoxon analysis comparing migraine patients, a p-value of 0,000 indicated that there was an effect of wet-brushing therapy on changes in the pain scale. To health workers and educational institutions are expected to use wet brewing therapy as a complementary alternative and as a non-pharmacological treatment that can reduce the scale of pain.

Pain intensity is considered as the fifth vital sign. However, it is the only vital sign which is subjective, with there being many pain measurement tools for adults to rate their level of pain. Additionally, there is an increasing number of aging populations throughout the world, and pain measurement in this group of people is challenging as geriatrics have both physical and cognitive impairment. The most frequently utilized pain measurement tools are; the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Verbal Rating Scale (VRS), Numerical Rating Scale (NRS); and faces scales [Faces Pain Scale (FPS) and Faces Pain Scale-Revised (FPS-R) are the faces scales studied most often] tend to be valid for measuring pain severity in cognitively intact elderly. When problems arise, the VAS is the pain measurement tool found to have more difficulties (including higher rates of failure) than the other tools. In elderly with cognitive deficits, fewer difficulties tend to occur as the tools become simpler, with the most valid and useful tools in the following order: the FPS/FPS-R, the VRS, the 0-10 NRS, and the VAS. Furthermore, simpler pain measurement tools tend to be favored over more complicated tools. Keywords: aging; elderly; geriatrics; older; pain measurement; pain measurement tools

Dysmenorrhea is disturbed young women’s study activities at school. The preliminary study found that 10 teenagers had dysmenorrhea, 4 of them said they could not follow the sporting activities. This research aimed to determine the effect of abdominal stretching exercise in reducing the pain due to dysmenorrhea in the adolescent girls. The method used a quasi-experiment design with one group pretest-posttest. The population in this study was 174 peoples and obtained 19 samples with random sampling technique. Pain score measured by the Verbal Descriptor Scale before and after given the abdominal stretching exercises for 15 minutes, 3 times during 7 days with an interval of one day. Data analysis used univariate test and t-dependent test. The results of the study obtained the pain score before the abdominal stretching exercises were 6.16 scale (moderate pain) and after abdominal stretching exercises was 2.37 scale (mild pain) with pain scale difference 3.79. T-dependent statistical test obtained that p-value < 0,001, it refers to abdominal stretching exercises affects in decreasing pain scale of dysmenorrhea. Abdominal stretching exercises are recommended as an influential intervention of dysmenorrhea for adolescent girls. This exercises can be a new routine activity for adolescent girls since it is very beneficial for them. Keywords: Abdominal stretching, adolescent girls, dysmenorrhea, exercises.
