This paper discusses the obstacles in Icelandic-Indonesian cooperation related to geothermal development in Indonesia in 2007 - 2014. In the cooperation process that prioritizes geothermal energy use in Indonesia, the interaction between Iceland and Indonesia has not shown significant implementation results, mainly technical geothermal energy exploration. This cooperation has been going on for seven years. The concept of Barriers to International Cooperation developed by Lauri Siitonen, which is a derivative of the idea from Theories of International Cooperation, is used to analyze existing obstacles. This concept explains why cooperation and obstacles can occur due to the interactions of the actors involved. In this case, each country's national interests, which become the foundation for interactions in the international system, can create political policies that often ignore bilateral cooperation objectives. This research is based on primary data and secondary data with descriptive-analytical methods. This paper's conclusion shows that political and policy factors and technical factors are significant in hindering this cooperation.

Indonesia's target for using the energy mix through Renewable Energy (RE) is 22.5 percent in 2025. The steps taken are to optimize local energy use for electricity generation and select more efficient technologies that can reduce the cost of electricity supply. One of the pioneers carried out in the city of Magelang is the Smart on Grid Actuator (SOGA) system that converts sunlight into electrical energy. This study aims to calculate and analyze estimated costs by using the sun using SOGA System innovations. The research location in the Research and Development Agency of the City of Magelang focused on cost efficiency testing based on solar energy harvesting with SOGA. The survey on the use of SOGA innovation was conducted during October 2018 to obtain primary data. The approach to the results of previous research and theoretical approaches is intended as a reference, and secondary data complete the analysis of this study. Study analysis uses the Financial and Economic Benefits Photovoltaic Grid-Tied System projection (Utility-Based Rebate Formula). As a result, the SOGA system can reduce installed electricity costs by ± 330 USD per year and can be used for alternative rural energy development.

The presentation of ‘human security’ notion in 1990s signified transformation of international relations from nation-centred international system to people-centred international system. This concept not only redefined the term security, but altered the perceptions of both objects and subjects of threat as well. This development in the discourse of ‘security’ and the logic of linkage between national-interests and human-interests convinced states to reconsider and reframe their security policy. This article describes the notion of human security as a crux to chain the people across the world owing to the recognition of identical security challenges and responses. The concept of human security brought states closer and infused the sense of collaboration and cooperation to mitigate the threats to the security of human being. Methodologically, this paper presents qualitative and analytical study applying secondary data. This research analyses how the Japanese governments under the leadership of some people-friendly Prime Ministers advocated the concept of human security and promoted it as a vital determinant of the foreign policy of Japan.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken measures to improve safety, reduce costs, increase resilience, and improve the sustainability of the United States (U.S.) airfield infrastructure by using a life-cycle cost analysis methodology to increase the efficient use of economic resources needed for expanding and preserving the airfield system. However, a life-cycle assessment (LCA) approach for evaluating the environmental impacts of decisions regarding airfield infrastructure has yet to be fully developed and applied. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the use of the airfield LCA framework that was developed for the FAA and can be used by U.S. airports. The comparison of alternative pavement designs at Nashville International Airport (BNA) is presented. The scope of the study was from cradle to laid; materials, materials transportation, and construction stages of the pavement life cycle are considered, and the maintenance, use and end of life stages are not considered. Primary data were acquired from BNA and secondary data were used in situations of unavailability of primary data. The case study showed that performing LCA provides opportunities for airports to consider energy use and environment-related impacts in the decision-making process.

The theater usually has an attractive form to attract the attention of visitors and also has good sound control in the auditorium so as not to cause sound distortion. Performances in Medan are still inadequate to accommodate international performances. Particularly in Medan, the enthusiasm of the community towards art tends to be high, but the facilities of the place lack to accommodate performances. Data collection methods are carried out by collecting primary data through a process of field comparative study and secondary data through literature studies & comparative studies. The design approach used in design studies are analyzing the physical, conditions around the site, potential, the limits that exist on the site, Site and environmental approaches are analysis of site conditions and the best solutions, the user approach is building analysis to meet the need for facilities and quality in accommodating the show, literature studies related to titles and themes and theories that support design ideas. The Metaphor is chosen as a truss design theme to convey the shape of building design by combining metaphorical forms of buildings and the prominence of the same metaphorical theme in the building to those who visit and see buildings to prevent sound distortions by using porous materials. Medan is a big city in Indonesia as a design area with consideration of a strategic location. It is expected that with the presence of this performance center, domestic and foreign tourists and especially Medan people themselves can enjoy the comfort and get to know traditional music and dance in Indonesia.
