Arabic language which is a foreign language in Indonesia has now been studied in schools specifically based on Islamic religion. As an Arabic language subject certainly has indicators in a learning, one of them is SMP IT Al Farabi which wants to improve the ability to speak students by applying Direct Methods to learning in the classroom. Researchers collect data through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the data are then analyzed qualitatively. From the results of the research that has been carried out it was found that learning Arabic by applying Direct Methods can improve students' language skills especially on students' speaking skills, in addition students' interest and motivation increases. This is evidenced by the increasing value and activity of students during the Learning Process of Arabic using Direct Method.

Many factors influence the success of learning Arabic for non-native speakers. One of the textbooks is the Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik book. Darul Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Banda Aceh uses this book in learning four language skills and their elements with a communicative approach. This research focuses on learning Arabic using the “Al-Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik” in Darul Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Banda Aceh. This research is descriptive, where the data is collected through interview and documentation. The resource persons in this study were the Director and one of the teachers at Darul Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Banda Aceh. The result shows that: The process Arabic teaching learning uses direct methods, where the teacher and students communication in Arabic, again the teacher encourages students to be involved in the Arabic learning process. In addition, The teacher is in use himself to speak Arabic with the student outside the classroom. The teacher explains the Arabic language skills learning material and its elements well and uses many exercises to master the materials being studied.

The Arabic learning process is directed to encourage, guide, develop, and foster students' Arabic language skills, Arabic language skills will also support students in understanding the sources of Islamic teachings, such as the Al-Qur'an and Hadith, and other books that use Arabic . In the Arabic learning process, it is expected that students will have good abilities in learning Arabic. To achieve the expected objectives, the Hiwar learning strategy is to use the Hiwar (conversation) method. The lesson material consists of fluency in speaking by using Arabic.This research is a field research in the form of descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation and documentation. The data analysis used is descriptive in the form of secondary data and primary data. In analyzing the data, it begins with examining the data, after the data is collected then its contents are clarified and analyzed, then interpreted and concluded. The Arabic learning process at MAN 1 Payakumbuh has been implemented in accordance with the existing curriculum, based on Content Standards (SI) and Graduates Competency Standards (SKL), which explains that learning Arabic at Islamic Senior High School is a process of activities directed at encouraging, guiding, develop and develop fushha Arabic language skills, by prioritizing the ability to read and understand reading material. The ability to speak and compose sentences is aimed at strengthening reading skills, which is the main goal of learning, namely the ability to communicate as well as a provision for understanding Islamic teachings from the original sources, namely Al-Quran and Al-hadith. The conclusion of this study is that it turns out that students are still not able to carry out good faith in Arabic and cannot use it in daily conversations, because the learning strategies used are still not optimal due to the lack of media and supporting infrastructure that support the learning process of Hiwar. So that it hasn't got maximum results.

This paper discusses the methods and strategies of reading in Arabic lessons. As is well known that language skills include four aspects,  namely  speaking skills, writing skills, reading skills, and listening skills. At the beginner level, reading is a basic skill that must be mastered by everyone who wants to    learn Arabic as a foreign language and as is well known that Arabic is a Foreign Language for non-Arabs. Teaching Arabic which is a foreign language requires various methods and strategies appropriate so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively and efficiently.

This study aims to identify the increase in low speaking skills among students who live in Arabic language dormitories in Blokagung Banyuwangi, so that they can speak Arabic in that language. This research is a research which is a field research which is located in a language dormitory, and the methods used in obtaining data are observation, documentation and questionnaires, while the data analysis uses the steps by collecting data on the students who live in Arabic language dormitories. Research results: Students get a lot of speaking practice with the subjects offered by the teacher because the priority of applying this direct method is to improve students' ability to speak Arabic

As Muslims, we should be familiar with Arabic. As we know, the beginning of the emergence of Islam came from the Arab Nation, even the holy book of Muslims is in Arabic. However, it is not the reason for us not to be able to master Arabic. Even make it as our everyday language. Arabic skills are speaking skills, able to listen well to be able to write and pronounce well too. Various attempts were made by the school to implement various Arabic learning methods. However, often learning Arabic, especially in junior high school, is deemed inadequate. There are many obstacles that are felt by educators, such as lack of awareness to learn Arabic, considering Arabic as a difficult language, and using inappropriate methods in their learning process. For these reasons, the author wants to make a simple effort with this simple writing to place a method that is in accordance with the timeliness of learning Arabic so that it is easily practiced by educators and easily accepted by students which expected that more awareness to use Arabic as every day language. An observation of the three methods to be analyzed, namely, qowaid and translation methods, direct methods, and eclectic methods.

In the second language, speaking is a basic skill in learning language, because language it selft is speech, a person not considered of mastering the language except by mastering the speaking. The students of Babun Najah not only found difficult in speaking Arabic language but got borred as well. Thus, student had a very low ability. It was caused by the disagreement between method used by teacher and do not use the interesting media according to students’ condition, it makes the students felt bored, lack of attention to the subject; even some of them spoke during the teaching and learning process. So the learning process runs ineffectively. This resulted in the limit ability of students to speak Arabic. Based on this problem that has been studied by the researchers, so we need for solution to overcome these problems, including: applying the Retelling Story method with the serial images in teaching Arabic language to reach the purposes of teaching speaking skills, in hopes of increasing student ability in speaking skills by combining these two variables. The purposed of this research is to know students’ responses to speaking skills and students’ abilities in speaking Arabic language using the retelling method and serial pictures in Babun Najah Banda Aceh boarding school. Quantitative supported by qualitative approach along with experimental method was used by the researcher. Purposive sampling was used to find the second graders of II-C as a control class and II-D as an experimental class that was consisted of 23 students. The results are that students’ response toward Retelling story Method with the pictures series is well, and the use of Retelling story Method with the pictures series was effective and it gave a good impact on students of  Babun Najah Banda Aceh boarding school, which the result from the t-test relate calculation is greater than t-table result, that is 1,69 < 1,93.

Arabic is the language of the holy book Quran for mankind. Altough the Arabic language in Indonesia is a foreign language, but for muslim should not make foreign language in his tounge. Arabic for a Muslim is the fundamental key to unclock the deepening of knowledge of the religion of Islam. With a key that he can learn the basic teachings of religion and also be able to know the basic teaching of his religion, history, science, and culture of Islam that had reached the lighthouse internasional civilization before crushed by modern civilization today.Language teaching purposes, according to its name to grow and develop language skills. Skilled language means listening, skilled reading, and skilled writing in Arabic is good and right. Arabic language teaching methods have four forms taught to students. Teaching is in Arabic in this study is teaching Istima’ (listening), teacing Kalam (speaking), teaching Qiro’ah (reading), and teaching Kitabah (writing).

Language Environment Approach (Bi’ah Lughowiyah) is a language learning approach that aims to enhance the ability of learners in a foreign language through the utilization of the environment as a learning resource. Speaking skills (Maharah Kalam) are one type of productive skills of learners who require the ability to pronounce sounds correctly, it is a major part of the curriculum of foreign language learning. The Al-Amanah Islamic Boarding School and Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School is two of the cottages that there are several activities that aim to develop the ability to speak with students in Arabic, such as Mufrodat Kulla Yaum, Usbu' al-'Araby, Muhadharah, and all of activities about daily speaking skills until monthly. But unfortunately, most students of this cottage did not speak Arabic correctly because mixed by language of their region (Jawa). This research uses a qualitative approach, as well as the type of Multisite research. The results of this study are: 1) The role of Bi'ah Arobiyah in developing Maharah Kalam at the cottage, in terms of the psychological, the role is very helpful, but less. In terms of pedagogic, the role is ineffective. In terms of instructional, there is major role. 2) Supporting factors of Bi'ah Arobiyah that affect the ability of students to speaking Arabic, the position and the positive appreciation of all the inhabitants of the cottage to the Arabic language, Arabic learning materials, Language Activator Division of cottage, rules and punishment, the implementation of the teaching-learning processing a fun atmosphere, and strong motivation of most students. And the inhibiting factors are: the lack of a good education funding for the implementation of Bi'ah Arobiyah, at least media language learning, and most students of this cottage did not speak Arabic correctly because mixed by language of their region. And to solve the problems, intensive evaluation followed by corrections in learning is needed. Keywords: Arabic Environment, Arabic Speaking Skill

This research aims to reveal the data of Arabic language learning in Lampung. This research is focused on teachers professionality, Arabic learning process, and  students’ Arabic language skills that consist of istima’, kalam, qira’ah, and kitabah. This research refers to a survey study by collecting information from sample through questionnaire. The objectives of this research not only examine the map of teachers professionality, Arabic learning process, and students’ Arabic language skills but also find out the interaction between learning process and students’ Arabic skills. The samples of this research were 49 Arabic teachers and 382 students of Islamic Senior High School around Lampung. From the results of analysis data, it can be concluded that teachers professionality belongs to medium level, Arabic learning process belongs to medium level, students’ Arabic language skills belong to low level. The results of associative analysis showed that there is a significant influence between learning process and students’ Arabic language skills; therefore, it can be regarded that un-maximal learning process and environment have an impact towards the students low-level Arabic language skills.

Anxiety has been a matter of substantial concern in foreign language (FL) learning setting for educators since it is a major obstacle learners need to overcome (Ellis, 2008; Wu, 2010).This study was aimed at finding out students’ language anxiety in learning the four language skills at a university level in English as a FL context. The participants were 71 students of the English education Department of Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Data was collected by administering a set of questionnaire. To support the data, interview was conducted to some of the respondents. Findings showed that the majority of the students were more anxious on writing skill, followed by reading, speaking and listening in their language learning process. It is highly recommended that the teachers or faculties be more creative in making the language skills classes atmosphere more fun and relaxing so that the students could achieve higher learning results.
