Abstract This article discusses the role of parents as child educators in the household. Many Muslim scholars quoted quran verses and hadith as the basis for the importance of children's education in the family. The family is the smallest instrument in the community and is the basic platform as well as a place for early education for every child. The role of parents is very important in children's education. Parents who are able to position themselves as protectors, protectors, and educators of children will certainly be coherent in the hope that they will get good future generation candidates, because the nature of children is in need of love and attention from their parents. Will of Lukman al-Hakim in Q.S. Luqman verses 13-19 is a manifestation of the importance of children's education by parents in the family. Education in the family is not only limited to religious education, but also provides moral, personality and social education. Parents should be able to carry out holistic education to children in the family so that they can realize the goal of education, namely to make a complete person balanced between emotions, intellectuals, and spirituality Abstrak Artikel ini membahas tentang peran orang tua sebagai pendidik anak dalam rumah tangga.

This article aims to map the polarization in Indonesia between Christian Education (or: Christian Religious Education) as it takes place within the domains of church and of school. Within the ecclesial arena, Christian education (Pendidikan Kristiani/PK) is often associated with the activity of teaching children. On the other hand, within the setting of a school, PK is often associated with a course of study assigned to students—one that mostly emphasizes the filling of cognitive gaps for the students yet (intentionally) ignores the affective and psychomotor domain that is integral for instruction. By examining this polarization, I argue that the polarizing divide between PK as implemented in a school and PK as implemented in the church can be overcome by virtue of the fact that both school and church are learning spaces for PK. This article is divided into three parts. The first will demonstrate certain misunderstandings about PK in the context of school and of church that lead to polarization. The second part shows how PK is presently practiced in the context of Indonesia’s churches and schools. Based on descriptions in this second part, the final section will offer a number of basic principles, in an effort to bridge the gap between PK as it takes place in school and in church.

One of the basic attitudes a child must have to be a good and righteous man is to have good moral and religious attitudes and behaviors in behaving like God's people, family members, and community members. Early Childhood Age is the best time for teachers of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to lay the foundations of moral and religious education to the. Although the role of parents is enormous in establishing the moral and religious foundations of their children, the role of the early childhood teacher is not small in laying down the moral and religious grounds for a child, since usually, the early child tends to follow his teacher's instructions. Therefore, an early childhood teacher should always try in various ways in order to guide early childhood to have a good personality, which is based on moral and religious values. With the foundation of moral and religious education to children of early childhood, an early childhood can learn to distinguish good and bad behavior, right and wrong, and accustomed to run the teachings of religion in accordance with the level of growth and development. Educating PAUD children with good moral and religious education is not an easy task, therefore PAUD teachers should always improve their insight, understanding, and skills related to the development of morals and religion of children in early childhood.
