Kierkegaard emphasis the importance of each individual being an authentic person. In his works, he gives an overview and direction to become an authentic person. Realizing whether someone authentically is not easy. Nowadays, I see many Christians who do not really live their lives as a Christian. The focus of this research is to present Kierkegaard's view on the criteria of an authentic Christian. The method used is a critical reading analysis of Kierkegaard's works (particularly Purity of Heart and The Sickness unto Death), previous research studies, observations, and interviews with several individuals. The author finds six criteria about authentic Christian individuals, namely: (1) Living in repentance, (2) Personal relationship with God, (3) Fear of God, (4) Willingness to suffer, (5) Being a loving person, and (6) Living in silence.

This systematic review is conducted with the major aim of highlighting the need for a comprehensive and modern Islamic counselling Model, due to the psychological challenges facing Muslim clients across the world. The main source of data collection in the research is past empirical studies related to the field of counselling as it affects Muslim countries. The study found, from the extant literature reviewed, that there is a high incidence of psychological problems among Muslim populated countries, especially the crises-ridden and turbulent regions such as Syria, Yemen, Palestine and others, as well as among the Muslim minority groups in some countries, such as the US, the UK and other European countries. It was discovered from the literature that the major causes of mental health problems are: lack of the fear of God, wars, poverty, natural disasters, political unrest, discrimination and Islamophobic tendencies. In this regard, the study highlights the need for research and action plans that focus on the well-being of Muslims in the entire global community. It is imperative that Muslims require professional assistance from specially trained counsellors equipped with culturally and Islamically-relevant skills for the mitigation of mental distress and depression. The need for a comprehensive Islamic counselling model that matches and competes with the western-oriented counselling models, is proposed. For precisely this purpose, therefore, the Al-Ghazali counselling model has been recently developed, which is compatible and commensurate with modern scientific therapeutic techniques, and is found to be a highly promising intervention for clients with mental and psychological challenges.

In the Scriptures it says 'Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, but fools insult wisdom and discipline' (Proverbs 1: 7). People who live a good spiritual life will always be blessed with God's spirit of wisdom. Wisdom, which is one of the gifts of the Spirit, which is narrated in the Old and New Testaments, was always believed by Christians from the beginning even experienced by the Apostles at Pentecost as described in Acts. Indeed there is no human who deserves to claim himself as a wise person. But humans deserve the wisdom to produce good fruits in their social life especially in this context, their meaning and fruit for a Christian for himself and for the environment. Through the descriptive method of the text, the author tries to explore further, how the meaning and fruit for a Christian when his life is always shaded by the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This study aims to explore accounding educatos’ consciousness and understanding regarding accounting education from the perspective of Christian spiritual intelligence. Accordingly, we use a phenomenological approach as the research method. Data is generated through conducting in-depth interviews  using epoche to several informants (lecturers of a university in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan Province). Data is then analyzed using the transcendental phenomenology approach. The results demonstrate that each informant has spiritual intelligence or divine consciousness. They  also expect that these divine or spiritual values can be integrated into current accounting education to enable future accounting graduates not to be misguided when entering the professional lives and applying their knowledge. We also find three (3) values or meanings contained in Christian spiritual values, namely: fear of God, integrity (a reflection) of God, and heaven. Accountants will exhibit these three values if their education already have divine or spiritual values. In sum, our study underscores the importance of integrating spiritual values into the existing courses, not only ethics-related ones, but also accounting-related ones.

This chapter explores Melville’s commentary on the collection of aphorisms known as the book of Proverbs and how he responds to its central propositions: fear of God as a prerequisite for attaining wisdom, the dichotomy between wisdom and folly, and the antinomian problem of God as the author of evil. Proverbs, it argues, enables Melville to frame his contemplation of theology and skepticism by confronting evil in its numerous guises as ontological fact. Because proverbs are portable and pragmatic, they allow Melville to comment politically on contemporary American reality (faith, economics, political and cultural institutions). The chapter discusses Mardi, “The Lightning-Rod Man,” The Confidence-Man, and Billy Budd, showing how proverbs initially connote revolutionary political potential in Melville’s work but soon are rendered ineffectual and used only to indict American political, economic, and cultural industries for successfully conspiring to purge wisdom from all personal interaction and jurisprudence.

This article will present and heuristically utilize the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) to analyze fear appeals in the Apocalypse of John. John sought to increase the fear of God in his hearers as a means to cope with other pressing fears and motivate faithful obedience (in line with his vision of what that entails). John rhetorically utilized fear appeals to reshape his hearers’ perceptions of danger and efficacy. He sought to increase fear of one object (God) and the inescapable crisis of divine judgment in order to decrease fear of other crises (death, disease, natural disasters, war, oppressive government, poverty, low social status).

This article aims to discuss drug abuse in the perspective of Christian religious education. Narcotics are basically good drugs when used according to the dosage or doctor's recommendations for health. However, if someone uses it without medical indication or without a doctor's instructions because of the disease or other things recommended by the doctor, it will cause addiction / addiction and dependence popularly known as narcotics. In this case, without the indication (use) recommended by a doctor or an improper dose it will be dangerous to human health and can even cause sudden death. Bible neither directly addresses the topic of drug abuse nor mentions literal prohibition on narcotics and their use. However, it does not mean drug abuse is allowed. In Christian faith, believers must abstain from drugs because drugs can damage both physically and spiritually. In Corinthians 7: 1, it explains "purify yourselves from all things that can defile body and spirit, so that your position may be perfect in the fear of God". This means that as a Christian, he must protect and purify his body so that he does not sin. Thus, drugs can damage the body, both soul and mind, so drug use is not allowed. In this article, the author uses literature review and literature research methods, utilizing written ideas as a source of emphasis on the interpretation and analysis of the meaning of the.

This study explored adolescents’ reasons for involving themselves, or not, in risk-taking behavior, in two vulnerable areas of North Jakarta. The sample was purposively selected among households with adolescents ranging from 12 to 18 years old living in the two areas. The study involved 401 parents (8% female; 92% male; mean age 45.3 years) and 414 adolescents (57.49% female; 42.51% male; mean age 14.9 years). Parents’ demographic data included educational level, employment status, family income, and expenditure. Adolescents were asked about their perceptions of their relationships with their parents, whether they had been involved in eight risky behaviors (smoking, consuming alcohol, substance use, brawling, crime, physical fighting, heavy petting, and premarital sex), and reasons for engaging in risky behaviors or not. The comparison of proportions of eight risky behavior was tested by different test procedures, namely Z test, Chi-Square and Marascuillo multiple comparison. Results revealed that older adolescents were more likely to be involved in risk-taking, and boys were more likely to engage in risky behaviors than girls. The study also indicated that curiosity and peer pressure were the main reasons adolescents engaged in risky behaviors. Advice from family members, fear of God, and fear of being sinful were reasons adolescents did not engage in risky behaviors.
