Research purpose to: (1) describe the readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male students of class VIII; (2) describing the readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for female students of class VIII; (3) describe the differences in the readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 in male and female students of class VIII.This type of research is quantitative research. The sample used in this study was grade VIII as many as 62 students. 25 male students and 33 female students. Determination of the sample is done by total sampling technique. The instrument in this study was a cloze test. Data analysis techniques used statistical analysis of independent sample t-test. The results of the study concluded: (1) the level of readability of the Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male students of class VIII are categorized as difficult or low (frustation) on all texts tested, with the percentage of respondens in exposition text (88.9%), explanatory text (77.8%), review texts (100%), persuasive texts (95.6%), and nonfiction texts (95.24%). (2) Level of readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for female students of class VIII are categorized as difficult or low (frustation) on all texts tested, with the percentage of respondens in exposition text (56.3%), explanatory text (59.4%), review text (88.23) %), persuasive texts (64.7%), and nonfiction texts (86.2%). (3) Based on the statistical test results obtained significance value of the review text 0.015, persuasive text with a significance value of 0.004, and nonfiction text with a significance value of 0.005. This shows that there are significant differences in the level of readability of Indonesian textbooks Curriculum 2013 for male and female students of class VIII in the review text, persuasive text, and nonfiction text. As for the text that does not have significant differences, namely exposition text and explanatory text.Keywords: readability, textbooks, gender

This research aimed to identify differences in problem solving skill between male and female students. The research subjects were 50 students (21 male and 29 female) who were taken by random sampling technique from two high schools in Malang. The research instrument was adapted from problem solving instruments of Maries & Singh (2018). The data was analyzed by statistic descriptive and Kruskall Wallis test (p-value <0.05). The results showed that overall, there was no significant difference between male and female students (p-value>0.05). However male students performed better than female students on preparing the action (p-value<0.05). The results of this research can be a consideration and input for practitioners of education to improve the quality of education, especially in Indonesia.

Anxiety is an unpleasant emotion that is characterized by worry and fear. A lot of subject matter is memorized and learning tends to be boring make students suppressed and can cause anxiety to accumulate during exams. This study aims to analyzed exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement based on male and female, and identify the differences exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement based on gender. This research is quantitative research with descriptive and comparative methods. With a sample of 115 students using a proportional random sampling technique. Data obtained by providing instrument kecemasan siswa dalam menghadapi ujian praktik kejuruan. Data were analyzed descriptively by determining the mean, standard deviation and percentage. To see the difference in anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement based on male and female was used the t-test technique with analyze Independent Samples Test. The results showed that exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement of male students was generally in the low category and exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement of female students was generally in the high category and there was a significant difference between the exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement of male and female students. This research shows the need for efforts to reduce exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement of students so that students can exam effectively.

This study aims to describe the analytical reasoning ability of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Gumelar in terms of gender. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII D of SMP Negeri 2 Gumelar, totaling 28 students consisting of 15 male students and 13 female students. Sampling was done using purposive sampling technique. In one class, 3 male and 3 female students were selected who had good communication and relatively similar mathematical abilities. Data collection in this study used tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The validation test used is technical triangulation. The results showed that male students had better analytical reasoning abilities compared to female students. Male students have mastered the four components of analogy reasoning ability encompassing Encoding, Inferring, Mapping and Applying. Meanwhile, female students only mastered the three components of analogy reasoning ability namely Inferring, Mapping and Applying

The purpose of this study to determine the ability to read news texts on students of class VIII 1 SMP Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu which amounted to 140 students from four classes with 75 male students and 76 female students. This research uses simple random sampling technique to take the chosen people correct by the researcher according to the specific characteristics of the sample, the researchers took 14% of the total population of 20 students. Technique of data collecting is done by observation technique and loud reading test. The data analysis used in this study is simple statistic. The results of this study indicate that, the average ability to read the news text of students of grade VIII 1 SMP Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu is 55.2 (less).

The study was to see the effect of scientific attitudes on the mathematics learning achievement of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Kupang. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research with statistical analysis techniques used is simple linear regression analysis. The population in this study were all class VIII with the research sample consisting of one class which was taken using a random sampling technique. The technique used for data collection using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and rehabilitation and test results taken from the achievement test and a questionnaire from the sample class. Prerequisite tests were carried out including normality tests, linearity tests. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 22 for windows. The results showed that there was a significant influence between scientific attitudes on the mathematics learning achievement of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Kupang. This is evidenced by the value of and the significant value is, so accept. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of scientific attitudes on the mathematics learning achievement of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Kupang.

Verbal-Linguistic Intelligence and Kinesthetic-Body Intelligence are important for students to have at an early age. The purpose of this study is to see improvement in Verbal-Linguistic and Kinesthetic-Body Intelligence through Instagram-assisted Scientific Approaches. The study used a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design on the thematic learning of my hobby topic. Determination of the sample by purposive sampling technique. Participants consisted of 15 male students and 12 female students in first-grade elementary school in Purwakarta Regency. Measurement through observation and documentation to observe and record the activities of students' verbal-linguistic and kinesthetic intelligence. Research shows an increase in Verbal-Linguistic and Kinesthetic-Body Intelligence is in the medium category with n-gain values of 0.59 and 0.56, and an increase in Verbal-Linguistic and Kinesthetic-Body Intelligence after learning with a more scientific-assisted Instagram approach significantly better than before being treated with sig. 0,000&lt;0.05. The use of Instagram shows students enthusiastic about expressing their hobbies. Learning development should be able to accommodate a variety of student intelligence and utilize social media that serves to facilitate learning and assessment more interesting

Spatial ability is important in studying the solid geometry. A person who has good spatial skills will easily imagine objects in three dimensions. Factors that influence the different strength of students one of which is the gender difference. This study aims to analyze students' spatial skills judging from the student gender differences. This research is descriptive qualitative that is collecting data in the form of description or sentence. The approach of this research is a qualitative approach. Research subjects in this study consisted of 4 students of class VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Trenggalek. The technique of collecting data of this research is observation, test, and interview. Test results and interviews are analyzed based on the spatial ability, they are the ability of imagination, conceptualization, problem-solving, and pattern searching. The results showed that: male students (1) able to solve the problem using the help of images and illustrate the solution; (2) able to connect data that is known to the concept possessed; (3) able to see problems from different angles; and (4) able to find patterns in solving problems. While female students showed: (1) able to solve the problem using the help of images; (2) able to mention known concepts.Key Word: Gender, Polyhedron, Spatial Ability

This study aims to determine whether the Pair Checks Cooperative model can improve the learning outcomes of students of class VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Java. The research model used is quantitative research. The population is all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Java by taking a purposive sampling technique, two classes were selected as the sample of this study, namely VIII IPS 1 class as an experimental class of 32 people and VIII IPS 2 as a control class of 32 people too. The instrument used was a social studies achievement test in the form of multiple choice. The data analysis technique used in this study is the t-test. In testing the hypotheses used the statistical test t test results obtained calculations tcount> t table at the level = 0.05 with dk 62 = = 32 + 32-2 = 62 ie (5.50> 1.99) thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted . In other words after the experiment was carried out there was a significant influence between the use of the Effect of Cooperative Learning Model Type Pair Checks Assisted by Problem Cards to Integrated Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Java in Academic Year 2019/2020. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model Kooperatif Tipe Pair Checks dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Ekonomi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Jawa. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Jawa dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposif sampling, dipilih dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian ini, yaitu kelas VIII IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 32 orang dan VIII IPS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 32 orang juga. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar IPS berbentuk pilihan ganda. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji-t. Dalam pengujian hipotesis digunakan uji statistik uji t hasil perhitungan tersebut diperoleh thitung > ttabel pada taraf  = 0,05 dengan dk 62 =     = 32+32-2=62 yakni ( 5,50>1,99) dengan demikian H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dengan kata lain setelah eksperimen dilakukan ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunakan Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Pair Checks Berbantuan Kartu Soal Terhadap Hasil Belajar IPS Terpadu Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tanah Jawa Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Mathematics is one part of the science in education that we learn. In studying mathematics, especially geometry, spatial abilities play an important role in it. The purpose of this study was to describe the spatial ability profile of class VIII SMPN 1 Genteng  in solving cuboid and cube theory problems for male and female students. Indicators of spatial ability are developed based on elements of spatial ability, namely spatial perception, mental rotation, and spatial visualization. The results of this study are male students with high spatial ability can master all elements of spatial ability, male students with moderate spatial ability are able to fulfill several elements of spatial ability. Female students with high spatial ability can fulfill all elements of spatial ability, female students with moderate spatial ability are able to fulfill several elements of spatial ability, female students with low spatial ability have difficulty fulfilling elements of spatial ability.

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication ability of students in terms of gender. This type of research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Soe Middle School 3 2018/2019 school year. The source of data in this study were 20 VIII 10 students, consisting of 10 men and 10 women. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a test of mathematical communication skills. The research procedure goes through several stages, namely: 1) preparation of mathematics communication skills test questions, 2) validating test questions and results analysis, 3) providing tests and collecting test results, 4) analyzing test results, 5) drawing conclusions. From the results, the communication skills of female students on all indicators have a higher value than male students. Female students are more thorough, careful and patient in solving mathematical problems so they are able to communicate mathematical ideas with pictures, diagrams or symbols and have a better mathematical representation than male students of the study. It can be concluded that the mathematical communication ability of female students is higher than the mathematical communication ability of male students that is equal to 58.71% or a difference of 17.42%
