Low birth weight babies are babies born with a weight less than 2500 grams. LBW (low birth weight) affects the high mortality rate in infants and is at risk of experiencing obstacles in growth and development. LBW is generally caused due to lack of nutrition and nutritional needs from mother to fetus while pregnant women aged less than 20 years and more than 35 years have the risk of giving birth to LBW. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk factors that cause LBW based on maternal age and nutritional status. The research method used was observational with a cross sectional study approach. The sampling technique was random sampling at the Regional Haji Makassar General Hospital in the January to July 2015 period with a total sample of 65 people. Analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal age, nutritional status of LBW with a value (p value = 0.00 <α = 0.05). Maternal age and nutritional status are factors that influence low birth weight where the results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between maternal age and nutritional status on the incidence of low birth weight. To reduce the incidence of low birth weight, it is necessary to increase counseling about the causes of low birth weight babies by health workers, especially midwives to pregnant women to prevent the risk of low birth weight birth.

Background Until now, no vaccine or effective drug is available for the control, prevention, and treatment of COVID-19. Preventive measures are the only ways to be protected from the disease and knowledge of the people about the preventive measures is a vital matter. Objectives The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge of the general people in Rajshahi district, Bangladesh regarding the COVID-19 preventive measures. Methodology This cross sectional study was conducted from March 10 to April 25, 2020. Data were collected with a semi-structured questionnaire from 436 adult respondents selected by using a mixed sampling technique. Frequency analysis, chi-square test, and logistic regression model were utilized in this study. SPSS (IBM, Version 22) was used for data analysis. 95% confidence interval and p-value = 0.05 were accepted for statistical significance. Results Only 21.6% of the respondents had good knowledge of the COVID-19 preventive measures. The highest 67.2% of them knew that washing hands with soap could prevent the disease, but contrarily, the highest 72.5% did not know that avoidance of touching mouth, nose, and eyes without washing hands was a preventive measure. Only 28.4% and 36.9% of the respondents knew that maintaining physical distancing and avoiding mass gatherings were measures of prevention of COVID-19 respectively. The younger age (≤25 years), low family income (≤15,000 Bangladeshi Taka (BDT), occupation others than business and service, and nuclear family had the lower odds of having no/less knowledge about the preventive measures. Conclusions The knowledge level of the general people regarding prevention of COVID-19 was alarmingly low in Bangladesh. The government of Bangladesh, health policy makers and donor agencies should consider the findings and take immediate steps for improving knowledge of the public about prevention of the disease.

Jaundice is a yellow stain on the skin, sclera, or mucous membranes as a result of excessive accumulation of bilirubin in the tissues. Low birth weight babies (LBW) are defined as birth weight 2,500 grams or less. In infants with low birth weight can experience various complications, one of which is hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice). This study aims to determine the relationship of Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) with the incidence of jaundice in Bhayangkara Hospital in the city of Kediri. The research design used is correlational analytic research. The method used is a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was carried out in total sampling as many as 105 samples of infants with LBW. Research data is taken from medical records. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using Spearman's Rho test. The results of the study showed that out of 105 infants with low birth weight who experienced physiological jaundice as many as 75 infants (71.4%) and pathological jaundice as many as 30 infants (28.6%). The results of the Spearman Rh Rho test analysis showed that the p value = 0.067 or less than α = 0.05 (0.067 0.05), which means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between the incidence of LBW and neonatal jaundice in Bhayangkara Hospital in the City Kediri in 2018. The strength of the relationship is based on the correlation coefficient of 0.196 which means that there is a moderate relationship between the incidence of LBW and jaundice in Bhayangkara Hospital in Kota Kadiri in 2018.

STATUS NUTRISI BERPENGARUH TERHADAP KUANTITAS TIDUR PADA LANSIA Sunardi Program Studi Ilmu Keperawatan, Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Muhammadiyah 65145e-mail: [email protected] ABSTRAK Umur harapan hidup penduduk Indonesia mencapai 65,1 tahun, dan berakibat peningkatan jumlah penduduk lanjut usia 8,48%. Kata kunci: Status nutrisi , kuantitas tidur, lanjut usia   ABSTRACT Indonesian’s life expectancy age is 65,1 years old, and this causes on increasing population of elderly approximately 8,48%. However, elderly nutrition status is getting decrease along their organ function degeneration, which is caused by aging process. Sleep quantity on elderly is changing because of short stage REM. There is also progressive decreasing on stage III and IV NREM, easily wake up in the middle of the night and they need more times to go sleep. This research method is descriptive correlation using cross sectional study approach in order to analyze correlation between nutrition statuses and sleep quantity on elderly. Samples are taken by purposive sampling  method is 35 elderly peoples who lives in nursing home “X” according to researcher’s criteria. Nutrition status observed with MNA and sleep quantity is measured by using questioners and interview, then it analyzed with Rho Spearman coefficient correlation. Significance rate that correlate between nutrition status variable and sleep quantity elderly is 0,01, there for p value < 0,05, it means that Ho is refused and H1 is accepted. There is a significance correlation between nutrition status and sleep quantity on elderly in Nursing Home “X”. To make further follow up this research using comparative study and random sampling technique for next researcher. For nursing home, I suggest that they doing screening on nutrition status and sleep quantity on elderly. Keywords: Nutrition status, Sleep quantity, Elderly
