The article discusses theoretical issues and prerequisites of the modernist trend, which influenced the development of literature and art. The main factor influencing the emergence of literary modernism is global change in the historical and social life of human development. Features of European culture and art are considered in the context of literature and art space. The relationship between historical and social factors and factors causing new discoveries in literature and art is revealed. The world of the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century was full of new discoveries. Looking at this stage of human development from today's height, we will see that in the twentieth century it underwent multifaceted and radical changes. It began in the European literature of novelty, and also in the Kazakh literature. New and valuable domestic works appeared and the" Golden Fund "of Kazakh literature was replenished with valuable works of Kazakh writers.

Discrimination based on disability is a complex phenomenon that is present in all spheres of social life, especially in the world of work. The reasons that led to this are numerous: living conditions, social and economic policies of different times, but also many social factors such as ignorance, carelessness, neglect, fear and prejudice. Therefore, various documents on the international and national levels are adopted which contain provisions prohibiting discrimination against persons with disabilities and that provide a legal framework for their employment. Accordingly, the Serbian national legislation is now significantly closer to the standards of the international community and the European Union in this field, which opened the way for more effective protection of persons with disabilities. However, one of the main problems is the application of the law in practice. The authors tried to, through the presentation of relevant documents of international and domestic law, point out their individual shortcomings while proposing certain amendments to the existing legal solutions for the purpose of finding effective ways to combat discrimination against persons with disabilities in the labor and employment area, which is the main aim of this paper.

This chapter focuses on the political economy of development. It first considers the different (and competing) ways of thinking about development that have emerged since the end of World War II, laying emphasis on modernization, structuralist, and underdevelopment theories, neo-liberalism and neo-statism, and ‘human development’, gender, and environmental theories. The chapter proceeds by exploring how particular understandings of development have given rise to particular kinds of development strategies at both the national and global levels. It then examines the relationship between globalization and development, in both empirical and theoretical terms. It also describes how conditions of ‘mal-development’ — or development failures — both arise from and are reinforced by globalization processes and the ways in which the world economy is governed.

During these last thirty years, the world has entered into mobility, due to the fall of the iron curtain in former communist regimes including China and most of southern countries which gave access to passports. This phenomenon opened a right to emigration, as a universal right, while borders began more and more closed to immigration, excluding many people from citizenship due to their mobility. Globalization is the main factor of various forms of mobility which have an impact on the content of citizenship, formerly mainly ruled by Nation States. But this new gap between a universal right to emigrate and a discretionary right to immigrate is introducing a new disorder, ruled by new actors. Paradoxically, while mobility is considered as a factor of human development and way of modernity, the inequality of the right tomoveover the world, is opening to various forms of citizenship, mostly negotiated, as many forms of agencies.

Beautiful women have often been associated with great men of authority and governance in various kingdoms. However, according to scholars, the beautiful female subject also serves as a domineering figure that monopolises the man himself. She can also be a contributing factor towards the downfall of an empire and the world of the man she exists in. For instance, this phenomenon occurred during certain Chinese dynasties. Hence, this research, using the film titled “Tun Fatimah” (1962), focuses on studying and analysing the relationship between the beauty of Tun Fatimah – the daughter of the “Dato‟ Bendahara” of Malacca and the wife of Tun Ali – and the creation of a “sultan” (king), who was still a bachelor and governed tyrannically. Subsequently, history witnessed the king‟s downfall as a ruler in the larger context of the Malay World. It also led to fissures within the great Malaccan sultanate. This research utilises a qualitative approach, focusing on the detailed textual-narrative analysis of the film, supported by the epistemology of desire. Findings show that Tun Fatimah‟s beauty, which was befitting as queen for the Malaccan sultanate, is the main factor in contributing to the libido imbalance of the king and the weakness of hegemonic masculinity in the empire. The imbalance triggered the king‟s irrationality as shown through his emotions such as the thirst for vengeance, anger, jealousy, guilt and regret. In conclusion, the factors proved they did contribute fully to creating a tyrannical Malaccan king.

Social scientists have devoted much attention to explaining individual and contextual variation in religiosity. Among other things, research suggests that authoritarianism is reliably associated with greater religiosity, whereas education and human development are associated with less religiosity. In this study, we explore the possibility that the relationship between authoritarianism and various indices of religiosity may be stronger in the presence of greater educational attainment and living in a society with a higher level of human development, even though the latter two variables are often thought to reduce religiosity: Using two large cross-cultural datasets from the World Values Survey, we find evidence that authoritarianism is more strongly associated with religious involvement and practice among individuals at higher levels of education and individuals living in societies with higher level of human development. In doing so, we demonstrate that the connection between authoritarianism and religiosity is contingent on both individual-level and societal moderators.

This work aims to discuss some philosophical and educational conceptions of Sophistic, especially Protagoras and Gorgias, showing how these philosophers understood the relationship between theory and practice in order to provide a reflection on how one sees these two poles that make upthe human development currently. The method employed for the realization of such intent is the literature review, which the conclusions are obtained through the content and interpretation of the comparison between explicit or latent meanings. Results show that the Sophists have proposed a new way of thinking about the world through praxis thus realizing the junction between Theory and Practice. This transposition dualism between theory and practice leads us to conclude that we should use the theory for us to exercise our reflective thought and have elements to create new actions based on the experience that it is living to deal with a changing world.Descriptors: Learning; Education; Philosophy. In this essay, the author “scrutiniz[es] the ‘signs of the times’ and seek[s] to detect the meaning of emerging history” to explore the call to conversion issued by the 1971 Synod of Bishops in Justice in the World (JW). In that document, they condemn oppressive systems of domination that hinder authentic human development and urge people toward conversion of the Spirit, which “frees [them] from personal sin and from its consequences in social life.” To determine what it is that people are to convert from, this essay builds on an evolutionary framework—developed through Augustine’s ecology and contemporary scientific theory—and explores how this framework can help limit the pursuit of domination in favor of promoting a more integrated and just world. Doing so contributes to the dialogue concerning how Christians can “work out their salvation by deeds of justice,” in light of the prescient framework delivered in JW.
