This study assessed the influence of university infrastructure quality on students’ engagement at the western branch of a private University in Bushenyi District, Uganda. Particularly, the study assessed the influence of lecture rooms infrastructure, university-level infrastructure and university utilities. Using the positivist approach, the study was guided by the correlational research design, collecting data using a questionnaire on a sample of 183 students. Descriptive analysis revealed that student engagement was high, lecture rooms’ infrastructure and university utilities were good. However, the students rated university-level infrastructure as fair. Regression analysis showed that lecture rooms’ infrastructure and university utilities were significant positive predictors of students’ engagement. However, university-level infrastructure had a positive but insignificant influence on students’ engagement. Thus, the quality of lecture rooms’ infrastructure is imperative, university utilities are essential and improved university-level infrastructure is a requirement for enhancing students’ engagement. Therefore, it was recommended that universities emphasise providing quality to classroom infrastructure, improve university-level infrastructure, and establish quality university utilities.

Therefore, the present study tried to investigate the correlation between students understanding in writing generic structure of analytical exposition and the quality of students’ writing in second grade of senior hight school. Grounded in explanatory correlational research design by Creswell (2011), this study conducted over two weeks in one of senior high school in Indramayu. Close-ended questionnaire and writing test were instruments to collect the data and it was analyzed  by using SPSS 22. The statistical calculation from students understanding in writing generic stucture of the text and writing test indicated that the value of tcount was 3.23 and the value of ttable was 0.361. It can be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted because tcount 3.23 > ttable 0.361. The finding reveal that there was middle correlation or middle prediction in students understanding of generic structure of analytical exposition and students writing quality with the score 0,52.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the contact of Brachiaria seeds with the fertilizer 05-25-15 on the sanitary quality of the seeds. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a (2x5) factorial design, with four replications. The treatments consisted of five contact times (0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours) of the fertilizer with seeds of ruziziensis grass and marandu grass. After the contact times of the Brachiaria seeds with the fertilizer, the seeds from each species were separated and the following analyses were performed: water content, germination, seed health ("Blotter Test"), and accelerated aging, with later germination test and sanitary analysis of seeds. Data were analysed for variance and regression analysis at the significance level of 5% and descriptive analysis was used for the results of the sanitary analysis. The contact time reduces the incidence of pathogens in the seeds of ruziziensis grass and marandu grass treated with the fertilizer due to the salinity and acid pH of the fertilizer. The fungi related to the reduction in germination were Aspergillus sp. and Fusarium sp. The disinfestation process increased the incidence of Fusarium sp., under high internal infestation of this fungus in palisadegrass seeds.
