This article discusses the model of Christian religious education with a compound insight in fostering religious tolerance in Indonesia. In the context of nationhood, society and religion in Indonesia according to the basis of Pancasila, there are six recognized religions, namely Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Religious differences are supposed to acknowledge each other, respect each other, and cooperate in virtue. But in fact differences in religious beliefs become a driving factor to bring down, demean each other, or mix between religions with each other. Therefore, there needs to be a diverse religious insight in fostering religious tolerance in Indonesia. Therefore, the model of Christian religious education is inclusive, multicultural, dialogue and peaceful as the right approach to foster religious tolerance in daily life. This research uses a method of literature study that refers to concepts and theories according to literature available such as articles published in various scientific journals, books and other scientific papers.

The 70-year experience of China in fighting against non-communicable diseases (NCDs) can be classified into three distinct periods: 1) the disease-oriented strategy period (from 1950 to 1994); 2) the risk factor-focused strategy period (from 1995 to 2008); and 3) the social and policy priority strategy period (since 2009). A number of projects were successful and valuable experience and lessons were accumulated during the three periods. Due to the underestimation of the ‘explosive’ epidemic of NCDs, however, it took China quite a long time to find the right path to curb the upward trend in these diseases. In this commentary, the authors review the evolution of strategies and the healthcare service system, examine advances and challenges, and summarize experience and lessons in NCD control in China. In view of development, China’s experience may have valuable implications for other low- and middle-income countries.

Cancer is a non-communicable disease with high mortality and morbidity rates. Data recorded by GLOBOCAN in 2018 shows the number of cancer patients is reached 18 million people with a death rate of 9 million people and predicted to increase every year. Diabetes is known to affect morbidity and mortality in cancer patients through increasing cancer cell proliferation and the risk of metastasis. This literature study not only explains the epidemiology, but also the mechanisms underlying the association of diabetes to cancer in general. Literature search was done using four search engines from PubMed, ProQuest, Science Direct and Google Scholar in the last 5 year, but relevant older articles were included. Cancer occurs due to the carcinogenesis process. This process is complex, where normal cells do not immediately mutate and become cancer cells but through several stages. The possible mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis in diabetic patients are hyperglycaemia, hyperinsulinemia, chronic inflammation, genetic variation, obesity, and hyperlactatemia. Examination of sugar levels in cancer patients, as well as cancer screening in patients with diabetes need to be done to detect early events and reduce morbidity and mortality.

Palabras claves: Costos, Cuidado, Enfermedad Crónica no transmisible.  Abstract  Background: Chronic noncommunicable diseases are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
