A Web service is a software system that supports interoperable application-to-application interactions over a network. Web services are based on a set of XML standards such as Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI), Web Services Description Language (WSDL), and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Recently, there have been increasing demands and discussions about Web services privacy technologies in the industry and research community. To enable privacy protection for Web service consumers across multiple domains and services, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) published a document called “Web Services Architecture (WSA) Requirements” that defines some fundamental privacy requirements for Web services. However, no comprehensive solutions to the various privacy issues have been so far defined. For these reasons, this chapter will focus on privacy technologies by first discussing the main privacy issues in WSA and related protocols. Then, this chapter illustrates the standardization efforts going on in the context of privacy for Web services and proposes different technical approaches to tackle the privacy issues.

As the Web gradually evolves into the semantic web, the World Wide Web consortium (W3C) recommends that web ontology language (OWL) be used to encode semantic information content over the Web. Semantic web is an essential infrastructure to enhance Web to obtain better integration of information and intelligent use of web resources. Moreover, a web service is annotated by web ontology language for service (OWL-S) to form a semantic web service that, however, is a static description. The OWL-S based semantic web services thus are reactively invoked by users. How to dynamically coordinate, composite, or discover the services is an important issue.

Innovation through information technology (IT) has made advances all over, and banking is no exemption to it. The utilization of technology has gotten pervasive in the present banking institutions. Mobile banking is a recently included service in the banking area that facilitates banking by means of mobile gadgets. Mobile banking has stamped itself as a rising technology embraced by banks the world over. That's why this investigation is to recognize the effect of innovation, mobile banking on customer satisfaction and decide the elements that lead to customer satisfaction. By reviewing literature, the authors propose a model and to demonstrate the model accuracy dependent on information gathered from 269 respondents utilizing on the web media. To examine the aforesaid relationships, they use the partial least squares (PLS)-structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The aftermath of their investigation uncovers that there is a noteworthy connection between innovation (I) and mobile banking (MB) on customer satisfaction. Then again, innovation has positive effect on mobile banking.

Abstract: Activities in the world of education and institutions are documents that must be documented which can be used as activity reports to the leadership. One such documentation is attendance documentation because attendance is sometimes very sensitive because it affects the prerequisites for further activities. Meanwhile, most attendance systems currently use conventional methods, namely printing attendance forms and participants taking notes on the form. After completion of the event, it is recorded in an electronic storage and the original sheet is archived. Meanwhile, universities and schools are required to be sensitive to technology so that they are not out of date. So the researchers proposed a presence system based on Scan Id QR Code based on Restful Web Service technology with the following process: (i) Schedule 1 time in advance; (ii) attendance by scanning the QR-Code ID to a scanner; (iii) Attendance monitoring. This proposed technology can be used for multi-platform and multi-event, so that to use this presence system, each agency can list its activities and its members. And as a member, you can do attendance by just scanning the QR-Code Id you have into a scanner. The development of this system uses the web engineering method because this method is appropriate for developing this system. So that the system is deemed capable of trimming the administration of the committee and minimizing the problem of data fraud and corruption.

AbstractThe World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) develops a wide range of standards for data processing on the Web. Prominent examples are RDF, SPARQL, XML, XPath, XQuery, and XSLT. Since these standards are widely used, they bring many interesting challenges for researchers. During the development of these standards, the W3C often works under a rather tight time schedule and does not always have all the cards on the table when design decisions need to be made. This is a situation in which research and practice can greatly benefit from each other. The W3C continuously releases drafts of the standards which researchers can investigate. Researchers can inform the W3C of their results and, conversely, the W3C can give the opportunity to immediately incorporate research results into practice.
