Early diagnosis of respiratory tuberculosis among HIV-infected patients improves the prognosis of recovery and reduces mortality. The emergence of cavities is one of the patterns of the progression of pulmonary tuberculosis. The article analyzes the results of examination of HIV-infected tuberculosis patients with cavities. We estimate the data of anamnesis, the disease clinic and immune status. The retrospective study included patients of the Leningrad region with HIV/TB with early respiratory tuberculosis from 2014 to 2016 (n = 852). We identified a clear relationship between chemoprophylaxis and antiretroviral therapy on developing tuberculosis non-cavity, but no direct relationship was found with widespread or disseminated TB. We also obtained a significantly relationship between the bacterial excretion and the detection of destruction in the lung tissue on the background a pronounced decrease in the immune status (CD4 100 cells/μl or less). There are statistically significant decreases in the frequency of cavities of respiratory tuberculosis and the proportion of etiologically verified cases is in case in the suppression of immunity (CD4 100 cells/μl or less). However, the relationship between early mortality from tuberculosis (during the first year) and pulmonary tuberculosis with cavities was not obtained.

One of the factors that influence compliance is individual motivation. There are still many pulmonary tuberculosis patients who do not wear masks, this can have an impact on disease transmission. Poor individual motivation can affect someone's compliance. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship of patient motivation regarding prevention of transmission with adherence to the use of masks in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Rambipuji Health Center, Jember Regency. This research uses descriptive correlative type of research. In this study using a cross-sectional approach. The sample of this study was taken using simple random sampling, namely pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the Rambipuji Health Center in Jember Regency, totaling 105 patients but only 50 patients were used as samples. This research was conducted by giving a questionnaire to pulmonary tuberculosis patients to find out the patient's motivation about preventing transmission by adhering to the use of masks. The results of the study were analyzed using the Lambda Correlation Test, the results of the analysis found that the motivation of patients was good motivation (22%), patient motivation was sufficient (56%), and patient motivation was less motivation (22%). Whereas adherence to the use of masks in pulmonary tuberculosis patients is compliant (36%), and non-compliant (64%). The Lambda Correlation Test results obtained from the variable compliance with ρ = 0.389 positive direction with a value of ρ count of 0.027 <0.05 which means there is a relationship between patient motivation about prevention of transmission with compliance with the use of masks in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Rambipuji Health Center, Jember District. It is recommended that further studies be able to conduct more in-depth research related to the relationship of patient motivation regarding the prevention of transmission with adherence to the use of masks in pulmonary tuberculosis patients

Abstract Introduction Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) shares many characteristics with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), and some studies show that, when associated, PTC is diagnosed mostly with smaller lesions and multifocal pattern. Objective To evaluate the relationship between HT and PTC. Methods A retrospective study of 155 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy from 2009 to 2015. Demographical, clinical and ultrasonographical data, as well as anatomopathological findings were evaluated. Results There were signs of thyroidits in 35 patients, and 114 patients had a unifocal disease. There was no statistical significance between the variables studied and thyroiditis. However, when compared with the occurrence of unifocal or multifocal lesions, there was statistical significance regarding age (p = 0.038) and mass (p = 0.031). There was no direct relationship between thyroiditis and multifocality (p = 0.325) nor between thyroiditis and cervical extension of the disease (p = 0.300 e p = 0.434). Conclusion There was no relationship between thyroiditis and multifocality in cases of PTC.
