This study aimed to analyze the teachers’ expectations related to the school principals’ ethical behaviors and the frequency of the school principals’ performing ethical leadership behaviors based on the teachers’ perceptions. Data were collected through the Teacher Ethical Expectation Scale (ÖEBÖ) and School Principal’s Performing Ethical Leadership Scale (PELBS) which were developed by the researchers for the aim of this research. The sample of the study consisted of 541 participant teachers selected from the population of the teachers working at public schools located in Sakarya, province of Turkey, during the 2018-2019 academic year. According to the teachers’ perceptions, it was found that the teachers’ expectations of the school principals’ ethical behaviors and the frequency of the principals’ performing ethical leadership behaviors were quite high. It was also seen that there was a significant positive relationship at a low level because of the path analysis, which was done to predict the school principals’ performing ethical behaviors through the teachers’ expectations on ethical behaviors. It was concluded that the ethical behaviors from the school principals expected by the teachers as the independent variable were seen to explain 8.6% of the variance in ethical behaviors performed by the school principals as the dependent variable.

Morality is related to differentiation between ‘good (may be right)’ or ‘bad (may be wrong)’. It usually includes a range of rules that individuals what they should do or should not do in their society. Morality is a kind of specific cognitive concept that involves conscious judgment and making decision on issues related to rightfulness, injustice, right-wrong, good-bad and behave in parallel with these decisions and judgments. Emotional intelligence has a moral dimension as well. Goleman clarifies concept of emotional intelligence, and he underlines emotions’ role on human behaviour and their close relationships. According to Goleman, the emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of one self, others, and groups. The study group consists of eight undergraduate students were studying at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Education in the academic year 2013-2014. Students were selected from 183 university students among their results from Emotional Intelligence Scale (Ergin, Ismen and Ozabacı, 1999) and Determination of Value Test (Rest, 1979) was applied with 183 undergraduate students with the method of standards sampling with the help of the minimum and maximum scores was selected from individuals (Yildirim and Simsek, 2008). The data were collected by a semi-structured interview form that was prepared by the researchers. The development of form was created for the purpose of considering the questions of the study. Data were collected by interview and qualitative data collection techniques. During the interviews, audio recording was used with the data were analysed the collected recordings with the descriptive analysis. After the categorization of data, the Cappa coefficient was calculated for the consistency between categories. The majority of the participants explained themselves as fair, honest, and emotional.

In recent years, the importance of sustainability has been realized with ever-increasing environmental issues. The preschool period is the most appropriate time for developing an awareness of sustainability as children acquire basic habits during this period and maintain these habits throughout their lives. This study was aimed at developing a scale to evaluate environmental sustainability behaviors in children aged 60-72 months. The validity and reliability study of the scale was limited to 60-72-month-old preschool children, the 2017-2018 academic year and Istanbul (Kadıkoy and Besiktas districts), Kutahya and Yalova provinces. The total number of participants was 426. The 41 scale items developed by the researchers were submitted to six field specialists for review, and the scale was finalized in accordance with the Lawshe method prior to commencing validity and reliability studies. The study data were gathered with the Environmental Sustainability Scale for Children aged 60-72 Months that comprised 2 factors and 20 items. The factor structure of the scale was determined after a theoretical literature review and peer-debriefing. First and second order confirmatory factor analyses were performed for the construct finalized after peer-debriefing. In the reliability study, internal consistency was examined, and the Cronbach’s alpha was computed as .92. In conclusion, the study results indicated that the scale was a valid and reliable evaluation instrument.
