Investigation of Teachers' Level of Life Satisfaction and Perceptions of Individual Innovation in the COVID-19 Pandemic Process

Background and Aim: This study seeks to examine whether there is a difference between the level of relationship between teachers' individual innovativeness perceptions and their life satisfaction and whether there is a difference in terms of some demographic variables during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The research is a quantitative study and was carried out in relational screening model. The sample of the study consists of 335 teachers working in schools affiliated to the Kahramanmaras Central District National Education Directorates. The data of the research was analysed using the Jamovi 1.6.12 statistical software program. Results and Conclusion:: As a result of the research, it was seen that the majority of the teachers were in the questioning and pioneering groups based on the scores of the individual innovativeness scale,. Significant differences were found in the scores of the participants' individual innovativeness scale sub-dimensions in terms of gender, marital status, branch, and sports status. On the other hand, there were no significant differences in life satisfaction scale scores in terms of gender, marital status, and branch variables (p>0.05); It was found that there was a significant difference in terms of the variable of doing sports (p>0.05); In addition, no significant relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of resistance to change, opinion leadership, openness to experience, and risk-taking and life satisfaction. Background: Life satisfaction of an individual is strongly associated with factors such as income, educational status, family and occupation. There is a dearth of studies on job and life satisfaction for physiotherapists, especially in Nigeria.Objective: This study assessed life satisfaction for physiotherapists from selected hospitals in South-Western Nigeria.Methods: Seventy-six physiotherapists from seven purposively selected hospitals who met the inclusion criteria responded to the study. The Life Satisfaction Scale Questionnaire (LSSQ) was used as the research instrument. The LSSQ is a two-section questionnaire. Section A comprises 6 items designed to assess demographic information of the respondents while section B consists of 29 items, designed to measure the life satisfaction of the respondents. The questions on perceived level of satisfaction in different domains are on a 7-point scale ranging from 7 (strongly agree) to 1 (strongly disagree) for each question. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data.Results: The response rate of the study was 80%. The mean total life satisfaction of the respondents was 151 – 180. There was a significant difference in total life satisfaction scores at p < 0.001 between the single and married respondents, first degree and postgraduates and between entry physiotherapist and senior physiotherapist. There was a significant association between level of life satisfaction and level of education, at p < .05. There also was a significant association, p < 001, between the level of life satisfaction and age, marital status and cadre.Conclusion: Life satisfaction of clinical physiotherapists in South-Western Nigeria was high and is associated with marital status, postgraduate qualification and in a higher professional cadre. This implies that physiotherapists in South-Western Nigeria are in a condition that promotes high productivity and efficiency and therefore physiotherapists are more likely to not migrate out of the country.

Background and Study Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between life satisfaction and alienation level of disabled athletes living in Kayseri. Material and Methods: The population of the study consists of 421 disabled athletes engaged in sports. The sample consisted of 109 disabled athletes identified by simple random sampling method. The study was performed by scanning method and the data was collected by survey method. Demographic information form consisting of 5 questions, "Life Satisfaction Scale" which was developed by Diener et.al. and translated into Turkish by Köker, of which reliability and validity study had been conducted and the "Alienation Scale" developed by Dean and adopted into Turkish by Kınık were applied. The obtained data were recorded in the SPSS 23 package program. Mann Whitney U test was used for comparison of binary groups and Kruskal Wallis test was used for multiple comparisons. Spearman Correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between life satisfaction and alienation level sub-dimensions. Results: It has been determined that there is a difference between life satisfaction and alienation level sub-dimension scores of disabled athletes according to the gender and marital status, that there is a difference according to life satisfaction level score and ages of 18-23, 24-29 and 18-23 and 30 and above in terms of alienation level and irregularity sub dimensions; and ages of 18-23, 24-29 and 18-23 and 30 and above in terms of social isolation sub dimension and that there is a statistically significant difference between their life satisfaction level score according to education status and alienation level sub dimension. It has been determined that there is a negative and medium sized relation between the level of alienation and life satisfaction, weakness (r = -.491, p =.050) and the irregularity (r = -.619, p =.050) sub-dimension, and that there is a positive relation between life satisfaction and social isolation sub dimension (r=.795, p= .050). Conclusions: A medium level negative relation was determined between the level of life satisfaction and alienation with gender, age, marital status and educational status and between the level of alienation with life satisfaction and weakness and irregularity sub dimensions; and a high positive relation was determined with the social isolation sub dimension.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the "patience training program" on the patience and life satisfaction levels of university students. The study was organized as a pre-test, post-test experiment and control group design. For a total of 30 students from which were 17 in the control group and 17 in the experimental group, patience training was given for 5 weeks. The "Patient Scale" developed by Schnitker (2010) and adapted to Turkish by Eliüşük and Arslan (2016) and the "Life Satisfaction Scale" developed by Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin (1985) and adapted to Turkish by Dağlı and Baysal (2016) were used as a data collection tool in the study. The "Wilcoxon" test was used for the comparison of in-group differences in the analysis of obtained data and the "Mann-Whitney U" test was used in examining the differences between the two groups. As a result of the study, it was observed that the patience and life satisfaction average scores of students in the experimental group receiving "patience training" increased significantly, while there was no significant difference in the patience and life satisfaction averages scores of the control group students.

Emotional Labor theory of Hochschild, 1983 and Grandey, (2002, 2015 & 2017) provided as basis of current research that gives the regulation of emotions at workplace categorized the main two dimensions of EL as Surface Acting (SA) and Deep Acting level of the school leaders. Self developed Emotional Labor Measurement Scale for School Leaders (ELMS-SL) was used to measure the EL level of the public sector school leaders. Multi stage sampling technique was used to select the sample of 376 (male=194, 52% and females=182, 48%) school leaders working in public sector secondary schools of 19 district of Punjab province. The core objective of the research was to measure the EL level and contribution of demographic variables (gender, mode of job induction, marital status and work experience) towards the emotional regulation status through suppression of emotions and modification of feeling. To measure the EL level of public sector school leaders, data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, as well as t-tests, and ANOVA tests. The results revealed that public sector school leaders are practicing emotional labor. EL practices between male and female were significant difference, whereas mode of induction, marital status and job experience were found non-significant differences on EL.Key words: Emotional Labor, Surface Acting, Deep Acting, School Leaders, Demographic variables

Present study aims to investigate the emotional labor and life satisfaction levels of staff in the central organization of General Directorate of Sport Services. The population of the study consists of staff in the central organization of General Directorate of Sport Services. The sample is consisted of 276 staff determined by random sampling method. As data collection tool; to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants, a four-item ''Personal Information Form'' as well as a nine- item ''Emotional Labor Scale'' developed by Brotheridge and Lee (2003) and adapted to Turkish by Dursun et al. (2014) and ''Life Satisfaction Scale'' developed by Diener et al. (1985) and adapted to Turkish by Bekmezci and Mert (2013) were utilized in the study. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage (%) and median values were used. Kruskal Wallis test was used for normal distribution of data and Mann Whitney U in test non-parametric tests was used according to the results gathered. The significance level was taken as p<0,05. When the findings obtained from the study were evaluated, life satisfaction levels of GDSS staff were at medium level. At the same time, there was a significant difference in education level and working time in the profession “in the sub-dimension of hidden emotions of emotional labor dimension of staff in GDSS. Activities such as various social activities can be organized by the Institution to improve the belonging of employees and to increase the levels of emotional labor and life satisfaction.

Life Satisfaction is a significant indicator of subjective well-being. It is assessed as a single, global measure or as a reference related to important areas of life, such as family and work. Assessing life satisfaction in people with special needs and verifying how this construct correlates with demographic variables such as gender, age and schooling, for example, was the objective of this study. Data collection was performed through a questionnaire with a Life Satisfaction Scale. The sample consisted of 48 people from Juazeiro do Norte in Ceará, aged 14-71, mostly male (60.4%). The results revealed that in 70.9% of respondents believe that their life is close to ideal in most aspects and that 72.9% agree that they are satisfied with their lives as it is. 41.7% reported that the conditions of their lives are excellent. Men said they were more satisfied with life than women, as well as older people and more religious people. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the loss of certain abilities, such as walking for example, does not seem to cause great changes in the feeling of life satisfaction in the studied population.

Aim: It is known that recreational activities have positive effects on people's emotions, thoughts, morale and many other issues. The aim of this study was to measure students’ participation in recreational activities, life satisfaction and the meaning of leisure activities to the students in the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Akdeniz University.Method: A total of 252 students (60.3% male, 39.7% female) participated in the study. As data collection instruments, Turkish version (Köker, 1991) of Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS), which was developed by Diener et al. (1985), and Turkish version (Gürbüz et al., 2007) of Leisure Meanings Inventory (LMI) (Esteve et al., 1999) were used. SPSS Package program was used in the study. ANOVA was used in the data analysis.Findings: According to the findings of Leisure Meanings Inventory by classes, there was a statistically significant difference (p <0.005) among the groups. . This difference appears to be between sophomores and juniors when examined on a class-by-class basis. According to the findings of Leisure Meanings Inventory with regard to departments, it was noted that there was very little difference between them, although there was a difference in the averages. This difference was not statistically significant though. There was no statistically significant difference between groups regarding class and department variables according to the findings of Life Satisfaction Scale.Conclusion: The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between sophomores and juniors while there was no significant difference between freshmen and seniors according to the LMI averages. There was no significant difference between the mean scores of LSS among the classes.

This study examined the association between physical activity (PA) levels and life satisfaction for middle school students from Macau, Taipei, and Qianjiang. A total of 1002 middle school students (grades 7 to 9) were recruited in 2015 from three cities (Macau, N = 322; Taipei, N = 325; and Qianjiang, N = 355). Physical Activity Rank Scale-3 was used to evaluate the frequency, intensity, and duration of the PA. Further, students’ PA behaviors and life satisfaction were assessed using the Multidimensional Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS) devised by Zhang. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA were conducted to process the data. In both Macau and Taipei, the life satisfaction of adolescents was significantly associated with adolescents’ amount of PA (p < 0.05). A significant relationship was observed between self-satisfaction and PA in students from both Macau and Taipei (p < 0.05). The study results indicate the importance of life experience in PA. The more PA that a student engaged in, the higher the level of life satisfaction they obtained. There was a significant difference in the overall life satisfaction among adolescents in Macau, Taipei, and Qianjiang.

<p>In the music education curriculum, which is implemented from 2017-2018 academic year, the directive for teaching values was prepared for the first time. In this context, the research was conducted by comparing the attitudes of pre-service music teachers towards values education in terms of some variables, which will be included in the courses of value education according to the new music education curriculum. Data collected using the values education attitude scale were analysed using t-test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Results showed that attitude scores did not change according to gender or level of parents’ education but had a significant difference according to the year students were in. Scale scores were not correlated with the amount of parents’ income or students’ GPAs. This study is crucial as it tries to determine the attitudes of pre-service music teachers who are assigned as music teachers in a few years and will conduct music lessons according to the Ministry of National Education music curriculum. Moreover, it aims to shed light on the determination of targets for values education in the training of pre-service music teachers in the institutions that train music teachers with the help of the results that this study offers.</p>

<p>The purpose of this study is to examine marital satisfaction and life satisfaction according to same variables. The study is carried out on married individuals in Adıyaman in 2015 year. The study group consisted of 279 (164 male, 115 female). The data was collected through the Life Satisfaction Scale adapted by Köker (1991), Marital Life Scale developed by Tezer (1986 as cited in Çağ &amp; Yıldırım, 2013) and a personal information form designed by the researchers. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences IBM SPSS 21.0 software was used for the statistical analysis of the data. In order to analyze the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, One-way MANOVA and Tukey HSD analysis method was employed. According to findings, it is understood that master and doctorate degree graduate individuals have a higher level of marital satisfaction and life satisfaction than primary and secondary schools graduates. According to income level variable, it is not observed a significant difference for the marital satisfaction levels, however there is a significant difference for life satisfaction levels. It is revealed that married individuals who get married after flirting have a higher level of marital and life satisfaction than married individuals of consanguineous marriages have. It is understood that married individuals who get married after falling in love have a higher level of marital and life satisfaction than the ones who make marriages of convenience have. However, according to gender is not a significant difference for marital satisfaction and life satisfaction. The findings of the present study were discussed in the light of the related literature.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Özet</strong></p><p>Bu çalışmanın amacı, evli bireylerin evlilik doyumlarını ve yaşam doyumlarını bazı değişkenlere göre incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2015 yılında Adıyaman ilinde ikamet eden, 115 (% 41.2) kadın ile 164 (% 58.8) erkek olmak üzere toplam 279 evli birey oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri, Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Evlilik Yaşamı Ölçeği ve Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde betimsel istatistikler, Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyonu, çok değişkenli varyans analizi (Tek Yönlü MANOVA) ve post-hoc çoklu karşılaştırma testlerinden Tukey HSD testi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi IBM SPSS 21.0 paket programıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, yüksek lisans ve doktora mezuniyet derecesine sahip bireylerin ilk ve ortaokul mezunlarından daha yüksek düzeyde evlilik doyumuna ve yaşam doyumuna sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Öte yandan üniversite mezunlarının da okur-yazar olmayanlardan yüksek düzeyde bir yaşam doyumuna sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Farklı gelir grupları arasında evlilik doyumu düzeyi açısından anlamlı düzeyde bir fark bulunmamıştır. Ancak yüksek gelir grubunda bulunan bireylerin yaşam doyumları diğer gruplara göre yüksek bulunmuştur. Flört ilişki sonrası evlenen bireylerin, akraba evliliği yapanlardan daha yüksek düzeyde evlilik doyumuna ve yaşam doyumuna sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Cinsiyet açısından kadın ve erkeklerin evlilik doyumu ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasında anlamlı düzeyde bir fark bulunmamıştır. Aşk evliliği yapan kişilerin, mantık evliliği yapan kişilerden daha yüksek düzeyde bir evlilik doyumuna ve yaşam doyumuna sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Bulgular, alan yazın çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve yorumlanmıştır.</p>
