This article presents the evolution of the light industry of the Republic of Moldova in the last 15 years, namely the clothing sector, by analyzing the image of the local clothing brands Iuvas, Maicom and Vasconi, reflected by the Net Promoter Score (NPS) indicator. Aiming to create an organizational culture, focused on gaining consumer loyalty and inspiring employees to increase company profitability, the NPS indicator is an effective way of measuring how a company treats the people it interacts with. None of the three brands scored positively in the survey, which shows a considerable increase in marketing efforts. With a negative NPS, a company must invest more resources in marketing activities to acquire new customers, which reduces its competitiveness in the market.

The Republic of Moldova yearns for the embrace of the European Union. But before this can happen, Moldova must first transform its legal institutions to approximate European standards. This article focuses on one of Moldova’s most powerful legal institutions, the Office of the Prosecutor General. It asks whether this office can be transformed from a militarized relic of the Soviet past to a modern prosecution service. Many daunting challenges will have to be overcome, including the spectre of political interference; an overly broad mandate; deep seated public mistrust; the corruption entrenched in Moldova’s legal institutions; and the absence of cross-sector justice reform initiatives.

The article highlights the stages of the life and work of the artist from the Republic of Moldova — Sergei Galben, who asserts the value of the emotionality of fine arts and viability of traditions of plastic culture, offering an example of their deep development and individual implementation in his works. Though his achievements were marked by awards in different competitions, being also appreciated by critics in press, and many paintings were purchased by museums and private collectors, the artist's creative way wasn't investigated. The author of the article fills this gap, having studied his numerous works and documentary materials. Most of S. Galben's paintings are connected with the images of Moldavian village. Genre motifs are interpreted as a part of the eternal course of life. His inclination for lyrical expression of feelings helps to reflect the spiritual purity and spontaneity of emotions in his portraits of rural residents, painted with great sympathy. Panoramic views and fragmentary sketches recreate the image of Moldova, “breathing” and emitting a soft light. The “landscape vision” of the artist, who lives in harmony with Nature, is also reflected in those rare semi-abstract compositions, characterized by well considered architectonics and correlation of color spots that express the mobility of the atmosphere. The integrity of the creative personality of Sergei Galben is largely due to the organic connection with the land on which he grew up. The artist is close to the ethical basis of the life of the people and the traditions preserved in everyday life, in the forms of folklore.

The Net Promoter Score (NPS) and the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) are metrics used to predict sales, profit and share price change. We identify problems with the design of both the NPS and the ACSI. In particular, we find that the NPS does not measure negative word of mouth effectively, and we argue that the ACSI is similarly insensitive to dissatisfaction. This is because ex-customers and never-customers are not sampled in these metrics, and these are the people who express most of the negative sentiments about brands/companies. We propose a method of measuring the effect of word of mouth using the volume and mean impact on purchase probability of both the positive and the negative word of mouth expressed by users of the category.

Abstract This paper discusses the competing processes between Moldovan and Romanian identities for the creation of a national identity in the Republic of Moldova. The issue of a common national identity for the people of the Republic of Moldova has been a problem since the beginning of this state’s independence. Throughout the 25 years of independence, different concepts of a Moldovan nation have competed in public, scientific, and political discourse. As a result of the historical context, the region has a linguistic specificity, which is based on the example of the Romanians, Moldovans, and Russians living in this region. Through archival research, field research, and interviews with Moldovan intellectuals and officials, this study recognizes the need for a national identity in the creation of unity and a sense of nationalism for Moldovan citizens.
