The development of recreational diving and the new biomimetic vehicles for civilian and military purposes indicates that fins drives’ effectiveness should be a standard research procedure. The different sizes, construction and technical solutions of fin thrusters are the reason that no standard has been introduced for evaluating their efficiency. The paper presents an episode of the research carried out as part of a project financed by The National Centre for Research and Development in Poland concerning fin drives development. The first chapter presents a literature analysis of currently used research methods. A different approach to assessing efficiency was indicated, ranging from the study of the diver’s respiratory efficiency to the manipulator measurement methods. The hydrodynamic parameters, which analyzed the propellers, including fins, and the fish swimming motility characteristics, were indicated. The next chapter presents the water tunnel for basic research with measuring equipment and the range of applications. The methodology for assessing the hydrodynamic and energy efficiency of fin’s drives is presented in the third chapter. The fins’ kinematics and dynamics analysis indicated an initial set of geometric, kinematic, and dynamic parameters for energy and functional assessment purposes. The scope of available tests covered issues complex to quantify unambiguously; hence the obtained results were initial. The form made this assessment of successive pool tests, the aim of which was to analyze the kinematics of the fin’s operation. The trials of a representative fins thruster and the comments indicate the test stand’s practical use for testing various propellers.

This is the third of three papers where we present the application potential of an original structural process for steel space grids, named PREMIT System. Here we explain the geometrical and structural characteristics of the welded version of the proposed System. Moreover we carry out the static analysis of structural components and we present a parametric modelling. Finally a codification and an inventory of technical solutions, useful to satisfy the design requirements of a wide applicative case study, are proposed. In the Appendix we present two System's variants, valid for both the bolted and the welded versions, with the aim to achieve appreciable economies in terms of materials and manufacturing.

Summary E-commerce in Europe is becoming increasingly important in all market segments, and in most segments it already accounts for few or even several dozen percent of total trade. According to a report by E-commerce Europe, it has already left the US market behind in 2010. Year by year, the willingness to buy products, which until recently were not treated by many consumers as “online”, such as food products, is growing. Considering the above, the aim of the article is to determine the level of development of e-commerce in the European Union (EU-28). In the research procedure the literature and EUROSTAT data were used. The following research methods were used for data analysis: literature analysis, the Hellwig’s method and the threshold grouping method. The analysis was carried out in two periods, i.e. in 2014 and 2018, which allowed assessing the direction of changes in the surveyed.

Not so long ago, Poland was one of the European countries which lacked a research centre which would support museum institutions. Meeting numerous needs, the National Museum in Cracow (NMC) had been sharing the resources of its Laboratory with other museum institutions. This is how the National Centre for Research on Heritage (hereafter the Centre) was founded. Relying on equipment and specialists from the NMC Laboratory, the Centre offers multilateral research on objects and collections to Polish museum institutions. It organises contests which all Polish museums may apply to with their research projects. The Centre focuses on three main activities. Firstly, it carries out technological projects comprising the composition and features of materials used to make works of art. Secondly, there are projects linking technological research with analyses of the state of preservation and environmental conditions in order to safeguard works or sets of art or which are particularly culturally valuable. The third activity consists in joint interdisciplinary expertise with external research units. The Centre has also undertaken its own longterm programme of research into managing the protection of collections in a sustainable and effective way. Within the framework of the programme, methodology and tools for the quantitative assessment of risk are prepared. The development of the National Centre for Research, based on the already existing potential of the NMC, allows the effective usage of collected research equipment and the adaption of its activity to the real needs of museum institutions. At the same time, an important area of the Centre’s activity is the coordination and possibility of using the potential of groups conducting research in the field of heritage at the Polish Academy of Sciences or at higher education institutions. The next goal of the NMC is to expand the Centre’s activity on conservation work.

Abstract Background: There is no cure for psoriasis. Early treatment using biologics is recommended to improve skin manifestations and reduce systemic inflammation, which leads to comorbidities in various organs.Case Presentation: HistobulinTM therapy was performed on a psoriasis patient who developed the disorder due to allergic rhinitis. Psoriasis was confirmed pathologically by skin biopsy. The patient responded rapidly, and the skin manifestations began to improve after just the first injection. Although the patient showed some temporary aggravation after the third injection, the clinical symptoms and signs improved continuously thereafter and disappeared after the eighth injection. Remission was induced and was evident when the patient showed no symptoms and signs during the subsequent 4 weeks during which time the patient received 4 more injections; afterwards, HistobulinTM therapy was ceased. After treatment, psoriasis did not recur for more than 6 months. Conclusions: HistobulinTM is effective and induces remission in psoriasis patients. HistobulinTM is suggested for curative therapeutics in psoriasis patients, and further basic research and clinical evaluation are necessary.

The aim of the research was to show the importance of quality as determinants of the behavior of Russian consumers on the food market. For the purpose of the research, two basic research methods were used: literature analysis and surveys. The survey was based on a prepared, original questionnaire form. 120 respondents took part in them, different in terms of sex and age, originating from the area of Kaliningrad and the surrounding area. It was found that 54% of Russian respondents believe that the overall level of food quality in the Russian market is satisfactory, and 35% described it as good. Only 1.7% of respondents considered it high. The main threats/obstacles in creating good quality food products on the Russian market are: low level of agricultural development (50%), poor development of quality systems and high food prices in relation to incomes (46.7%) and widespread falsification of food (45% ). Among the qualitative characteristics of the food market in Russia, respondents rated the quantity availability, temporal availability and variety of the assortment at the most.
