Implementation of occupational safety and health programs to guarantee safety and health for workers spiritually and physically while doing work. In every activity or activity, accidents may occur that claim lives and property, one of which is loading and unloading activities which have risks in each activity process. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of occupational safety and health programs in loading and unloading companies. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The design of this research is survey research. Primary data were obtained through interviews and observations, while secondary data were obtained from company documents. The results showed that the implementation of the occupational safety and health program in this loading and unloading company was still lacking and did not comply with the applicable standards, namely human resources that did not meet standards, standard operating procedures that lacked socialization and supervision to workers, there was no safety training program and occupational health is following the type of work, the use and provision of personal protective equipment are still lacking and hazard control has been carried out, but it is necessary to carry out supervision when loading and unloading work is carried out.

The purpose of this study was to determine the Strategy for the Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management (K3) implemented by the company to minimize or reduce the number of accidents and occupational diseases. This type of research is a qualitative research using a descriptive approach and the data needed are primary data and secondary data derived from observations, interviews and documentation analyzed by researchers so as to obtain accurate and clear data regarding the strategy for implementing K3 Management by PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatra in Pekanbaru City. The results of this study indicate that the Strategy for Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Management by PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatra in Pekanbaru City However, the implementation of occupational safety and health management carried out by PLN (Persero) UIP3B Sumatra has not achieved the expected goals, this happens because there are still inhibiting factors, namely low employee competence, lack of awareness from employees of the importance of K3 and lack of K3 supervision with reference to Government Regulation Number 50 of 2012.

Selection of research is motivated by the increased interest of tourists will kind of attraction travel in Bali. In this kind of travel these attraction are extreme types of tourist activity in Pulau Serangan is, Swim with Sharks. Of course, by choosing the type of extreme travel to swim with the sharks, the great possibility of the risk of accidents caused. Hence the importance of this research study releated to health and safetyof employees and tourist who do this activity in Pulau Serangan. The data used in this research is qualitative data, while the data source in the form of primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and library research. And assisted with the descriptive data analysis techniques. In applying the safety and health at tourism activities swim with sharks, this report uses occupational safety and health procedures that apply to employees and tourist who do that tourism activity. Besides, the factors triggering the accident, or the result of the impact and the prevention and mitigation to be part of the discussion of this report. The results showed that the application of occupational safety and health on travel activity swim with sharks being the foremost, so most have applied, only need the addition of some other procedure for the safety of travelers.   Keywords: Attraction Tourism, Swim With Shark, Occupational health and safety

Introduction: Non-fatal accidents are estimated to occur in 374 million cases each year and have serious consequences for the productivity of workers. Petrochemical Company, which is a company that operates in the field of fertilizers and other chemicals, needs to conduct an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program, one of which is the Housekeeping program. The purpose of this study is to determine the housekeeping program at Petrochemical Company and the application at Amurea II Plant III of Petrochemical Company. Methods: This research was conducted at Petrochemical Company in June 2017. This study used a cross-sectional design. The variables use were the OSH policy, the housekeeping program, the housekeeping procedures, and the applications of housekeeping. The primary data were obtained through direct observation and the secondary data were obtained from the company’s documents. Results: Petrochemical Company has included the housekeeping program in the OSH policy. There are two housekeeping programs at Petrochemical Company, namely daily housekeeping and monthly housekeeping. Also, there are 2 types of procedures in the housekeeping program, namely units that can do the housekeeping program and units that cannot do the housekeeping program. Moreover, the housekeeping program has been implemented in all units, one of which is at Amurea II Plant III Project. Conclusion: The Housekeeping program has been integrated in the company’s policy so that the housekeeping program can be done by all workers both daily and monthly. Housekeeping application has also been implemented at Amurea II Plant III of Petrochemical Company. Keywords: housekeeping procedure, housekeeping program, occupational safety and health policy

Recent trends in the organization of work have increased the risk of occupational safety and health (OSH) in Kenyan industries through exposure to hazardous substances, work related accidents and increased stress-related illnesses. According to International lab our organization (ILO) everyone is entitled to the right to safe and healthy working conditions and therefore the corpus of law in Kenya dealing with occupational safety and health should be embedded in the international OSH legal instruments. Specifically the occupational health and safety Act (2007) is expected to provide for safety, health and welfare of workers and all persons lawfully present at workplaces. The purpose of this study therefore was to investigate legal framework as a determinant of implementation of occupational health and safety programmes in the manufacturing sector in Kenya. It focused on six legal areas predicted as affecting implementation of OSH. These factors were national OSH policy, OSHA (occupational safety and health Act) familiarity with OSHA, government OSH inspections and audits, ease of implementation of OSHA, Government support in the implementation of OSH and OSHA implement ability. The study adopted descriptive cross-sectional survey design but however intended to gather both qualitative and quantitative data. A self administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 257 OSH officers drawn randomly from 735 manufacturing industries registered by Kenya manufacturers association. 252 questionnaires were received back and analyzed with the help of SSPS window version 21. Both correlation and regression analysis were conducted and the results showed that there was a positive significant relationship between legal framework and implementation of OSH programmes.

ABSTRACT Background: Hospital occupational health and safety is all activities to ensure and protect the safety and health of hospital human resources, patients, patient companions, visitors, and the hospital environment through efforts to prevent occupational accident and occupational disease in the hospital. It is necessary to support resources, organization, and policies in the implementation of occupational safety and health in hospitals in order to create a safe, secure and comfortable hospital condition. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of occupational safety and health at Hospital X Semarang, Central Java. Subjects and Method: This was a qualitative study conducted at Hospital X Semarang, Central Java. A total of 6 informants consisting of the main informants (members of the hospital occupational health and safety team) and triangulation informants (head of the hospital occupational health and safety team) were enrolled in this study. The data were obtained from in-depth interview method. The data were analyzed descriptively. Results: The hospital already had and provided the special budget needed in the field of hospital occupational health and safety, such as 1) Activity and provision of hospital occupational health and safety infrastructure; 2) Human Resources (HR) and assigns personnel who have clear responsibilities, authorities, and obligations in handling hospital occupational health and safety; 3) Hospital occupational health and safety official team but with double work burden; and 4) Policies were owned and compiled in written form, dated, and endorsed by the main director as well as commitment from the top leadership. Conclusion: The implementation of occupational safety and health in hospital X is quite good. Meanwhile, there is still a double work burden and have no independent hospital occupational health and safety team. AbstractThe international CIHLMU Occupational Safety and Health Symposium 2019 was held on 16th March, 2019 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, Germany. About 60 participants from around the world representing occupational health and safety professionals, students, instructors from several institutions in Germany and abroad, attended the symposium.The main objective of the symposium was to create awareness on global challenges and opportunities in work-related respiratory diseases. One keynote lecture and six presentations were made. While the keynote lecture addressed issues on occupational diseases in the twenty-first century, the six presentations were centered on: Prevention and control of work-related respiratory diseases, considerations; Occupational health and safety in Mining: Respiratory diseases; The prevention of TB among health workers is our collective responsibility; Compensation and prevention of occupational diseases and discussion on how artificial intelligence can support them: Overview of international approaches; Work-related Asthma: Evidence from high-income countries; and The role of imaging in the diagnosis of work- related respiratory diseases. A panel discussion was conducted following the presentations on the importance and challenges of data acquisition which is needed to have a realistic picture of the occupational safety and health status of workers at different levels. The current summary is an attempt to share the proceedings of the symposium.

It is a pleasure to be here today to speak to you about the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, which is landmark legislation by any measure applied to it. The Act applies to every employer affecting commerce in the United States and its territories which was not covered by other Federal occupational safety and health laws, such as the Metal and Non-metallic Mine Act, the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act and the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. By 1973 a study is to be completed containing recommendations for combining all Federal occupational safety and health programs. Paper published with permission.

Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is aimed as an effort to create a workplace that is safe, healthy, free from environmental pollution, so that it can reduce and or be free from work accidents and occupational diseases and can have an impact on increasing work efficiency and productivity. The need for implementation and Monitoring of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System at PT. Mujur Lestari must have a good corporate culture and be able to contribute to SMK3. For that PT. Mujur Lestari makes implementation and Monitoring to minimize the risk of work accidents for employees. The sample used in this study were employees of PT. Mujur Lestari, totaling 81 people. The data collection method used a questionnaire while the analytical method used was multivariate analysis. The results showed that there was an influence between knowledge on the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) at PT. Mujur Lestari with a tcount greater than ttable, the effect of applying the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) with a tcount greater than ttable, the effect of Monitoring on the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) with a greater tcount from ttable and there is no relationship between the implementation and Monitoring of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3). The conclusion shows that the knowledge variable has a positive and significant effect on the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3), the application variable has a positive and significant impact on the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) and the Monitoring variable has a positive and significant effect on the Occupational Safety and Health Management System. As part of our evaluation of the NIOSH-funded Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety: Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (NEC), we present methodology, findings and the potential implications of a sequential social network analysis (SNA) conducted over ten years. Assessing the effectiveness of the center’s scientific projects was our overarching evaluation goal. The evaluation design employed SNA to (a) look at changes to the center’s network over time by visualizing relationships between center collaborators annually, (b) document collaborative ties and (c) identify particularly strong or weak areas of the network. Transdisciplinary social network criteria were applied to the SNA to examine the collaboration between center personnel, their partners and the industry groups they serve. SNA participants’ perspectives on the utility of the SNA were also summarized to assess their interest in ongoing SNA measures. Annual installments of the SNA (2011–2020) showed an expansion of the network with a 30% increase in membership from baseline, as well as an increase in total relational ties (any type of contact). SNA measures also indicated significant increases in co-publication, cross-sector and transdisciplinary ties. Overall, SNA is an effective tool in visualizing and sustaining an occupational safety and health research and outreach network. Its utility is limited by how ties are characterized, grant cycle timeframes and how SNA metrics relate to productivity.


Workers are the most significant resources for an association as they contribute the most towards the accomplishment of an association which relies upon the basic abilities of its human capital that pays to the occupational safety and health of employees in the work environment. The present study is led with the objective to highlight occupational safety and health actions for the employees and their satisfaction level accompanied occupational health and safety services provided by the chosen pharmaceutical organizations. It additionally highlighted the awareness and training program undertaken by the organizations. The analysis of the current study has been done by suitable mathematical and statistical tools consisting of percentage analysis, mean (average), standard deviation, and correlation and regression analysis depending upon the objectives of the study. The outcomes demonstrated that the representatives of both organizations are genuinely happy with the continuous training program on risk of health and safety of workers. With regard to health and safety at work, the chosen pharmaceutical companies offer their employees with numerous facilities. Likewise, the fulfillment level of the employees by means of these measures is high, which is a decent picture of a balanced relationship between the management and the employees.
