This aim of this research is to explore and analyze to what extent the strategies to which physical education didacticsin Tunisia contributed to address the duplication of gender stereotypes. A typical approach with binary choiceregression was applied to analyze data obtained from questionnaires completed by 1326 adolescent students (724girls and 602 boys) from Tunisia. Results relieved that sport opportunities are limited by the separate expectations ofmales and females in physical education and sport settings. The analysis reveals that gender stereotypes affect girls'sports activities and that is particularly true for sports suitable for boys. The effect of the appropriated stereotype wassignificantly higher for sports practices perceived as masculine. The research ends with imminent based on thedistinction between gender skills and gender interest and implications for sport activities in order to enhanceparticipation, enjoyment, and wellbeing of people in physical education and sport activities. Hence, the need todevelop an internal logic of practice of sports activities by repeating individual and sexual differences.

The links between morphological, biological, sociological, psychological, and environmental characteristics, the practice of organized sports, and moderate to vigorous physical activities were examined by means of a questionnaire given to 48 high-school students aged between 16 and 19 years and their continuous heart-rate monitoring. Few correlations appear between these characteristics and moderate to vigorous physical activities. Only maximal oxygen uptake is linked to this type of activity in girls. Concerning sport involvement, correlations were more numerous for girls than boys. Physical and sports activities of girls were linked with maximal oxygen uptake, sport involvement of father, support, and encouragements of practice, perception of own activity, and private environment. Among boys, physical and sport activities were only linked with sport involvement of friends and perception of own activity. Unlike boys, physical and sport activities among girls seemed more strongly linked to sociological characteristics than other ones.

Purpose:This study examined physical education teachers’ awareness of gender equitable practices as well as the language and behaviors they employed in the physical education environment. The purpose of the study was to determine (a) what teachers know about gender equitable practices, (b) what types of gender bias are demonstrated, and (c) how teachers are influenced to adopt gender equitable behaviors in the physical education context.Method:A multiple-case study approach was used to provide an in-depth analysis of the attitudes and behaviors of four physical education teachers from four different schools. Teachers were formally and informally interviewed before, during, and after four extensive two-week periods of observations that included being audio recorded throughout the school day.Results:Themes emerged across the cases indicating that teachers engaged in teaching practices that reinforced gender stereotypes through biased language and gender segregation.Discussion/Conclusion:Teachers’ lack of awareness and understanding of gender equity prevented them from providing an inclusive learning experience for all students.

Abstract Sports activities and disseise prevention is a nowadays worldwide discussed problem, many specialists embraced the idea that physical activities can develop and maintain the health of human body. Our study was focused on finding the habits of a group of students from the University “Lucian Blaga” from Sibiu regarding physical activities, types of sports activities practiced in leisure time, student’s concept about the values and importance of practicing sports activities and so on. The main method of research was the lifestyle health questionnaire through which we investigated some aspects regarding sports activities influence on the level of health. We choose a sample of 300 students from all three years of study from different faculties from our university. The results of our investigation showed that students are aware of the positive influence of sports activities on human body.

Present days, oft en called Information Age, or Computer Age are characterized by the decrease of natural social interaction between people. Th us the social potential of sports activities is shift ing to the centre of scholar’s attention. Not only the worldwire spread, popularity, active participating and its media coverage make sports the social phenomenon of the day. Various aspects of sport make it possible to infl uence the society and visa versa. Th e research of socializing power of sports has traditionally diff ered between socializing into sports, socializing during sports, or through sport and fi nally socializing directly in sports. However nowadays, the width of sport disciplines that involves wide range of physical activities at various intensity levels makes it almost impossible to make any generalizations based on results coming from more sport fi elds (individual, collective) and foremost performance levels (recreational, performance level, top athlete level). Moreover, reasons for getting involved in sport activities can be rather individualized. Th is implies foremost the necessity to off er kids and the youth colourful variety of sport activites in all performance levels.

Abstract The importance of sports activities nowadays is showing their effects on the future development of children, extracurricular activities come in the help of the physical education teacher with benefits on children's development. Our study focuses on revealing the importance of extracurricular sports activities in the process of children's socialization and integration. The research sample was formed from two different groups, the experimental group was formed by 25 students (age 10 ± 2.1 years, 13 boys, and 12 girls), that practiced 2 hours a week physical education and other 2 hours a week extracurricular activities like basketball and volleyball; and the sample group formed by 24 students (age 10 ± 1.8 years, 12 boys and 12 girls), that practiced 2 hours a week classic physical education. The results showed us that extracurricular activities have a good impact on children's socialization and integration, the experimental group improved their coefficient of group cohesion from 0.04 at the initial testing to 0.06 at the final test, and the index of cohesion from 0.02 at the initial test to 0.05 at the final testing. Significant differences were found within the experimental group both in the initial and in the final tests (p < 0.05), also significant differences were discovered between the experimental and the sample group in the final measurement (p < 0.05). Conclusions of this research presented that the experimental group had good improvements of cohesion and social integration of children, showing that extracurricular sport activities have a positive impact on improving socialization, developing cohesion and integrate the marginalized children in the social group.

In sports literature, women’s participation in physical activities has always been characterized as “problematic.” Muslim women’s participation is often considered to be limited by their culture and religion, which also affects their attitude toward physical activities. The purpose of this study is to explore the participation and perceived constraints of Pakistani female students in physical activities, using a feminism-in-sports approach. Semi-structured and informant-style interviews with female students from Larkana, Pakistan, were conducted. The results show that participants either do not practice or participate very little, due to the limitations of socioeconomic factors, religious values, and culture. By exploring the diverse ways in which 20 female students talk about their participation in sports activities, we provide different narratives for sports decision-makers (at the school and government level), parents, and community practitioners (political and religious) to consider and draw upon in their curriculum and policy design, as well as daily practices, to support women’s participation in sport activities.

In Greece, sport as a tool for the promotion of gender integration and social justice has been included in the upcoming National Action Plan for Gender Equality (NAPGE) for 2021-2025 by the General Secretariat for Demography and Family Policy and Gender Equality of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The social space of sport is also included in the currently in effect NAPGE, formulated for 2016-2020 by the General Secretariat for Gender Equality (GSGE) of the Ministry of the Interior. This article begins with a presentation of the upcoming-updated NAPGE 2021-2025 and subsequently examines NAPGE 2016-2020 which is currently in effect. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the strategic goals of the NAPGE are being implemented in the Hellenic Military Higher Education Institutions and specifically in their academic curricula and programs, focusing on coed sport activities. A strategic goal of the NAPGE 2016-2020, as in the one to follow for 2021-2025, is to promote equality in education, culture, sport, and the media. To eliminate gender inequalities the NAPGE, presently in effect in Greek society, sets six strategic goals, and incorporates the gender dimension in all social, political, educational and sports bodies. Following European Commission guidelines, the NAPGE priority areas focus on promoting health; eliminating gender-based violence; supporting equality in education, training, culture, sport, and the media; promoting social integration and equality. As regards education, the main objectives include eliminating gender stereotypes and all forms of discrimination. Research shows that women's sport participation challenges gender stereotypes. Subsequently, women’s integration and gender equality in the military is discussed, using the curricula and sport programs at the five military schools/academies along with the interview data from our previous study with twelve active-duty female officers, former cadets at these five institutions. Our findings indicate that the gender dimension is taken into account: the NAPGE is being implemented, to a certain extent. Our results show that coed sport activities and team sports cultivate acceptance, cohesion, teamwork, and collaborations, leading to women’s integration and inclusion, in addition to a healthier and more productive military environment and culture. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0876/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

The purpose of the research is to identify the role of physical culture and sports activities on the practice of students’ self-preservation behavior. The materials: The research was based on an online questionnaire which was held among 2503 students in REU Plekhanov (Moscow) in October 2019 under E. V. Kargapolova leadership. The results: The most common practices of self-preservation behavior are walking outside, physical education classes and regular sports. The most preferable kinds of sports for students were football, basketball and volleyball. The less preferable were Eastern health practices. Nevertheless, only half of students were regularly engaged in physical education activities. Most of respondents consider they are able to make a set of training exercises and a rational diet. Conclusions: There are several contradictions in students’ behavior values of self-preservation and their practices of sport activities. The majority of respondents understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Nevertheless, students do not always follow these practices in their daily routine. There is a strong correlation between their health and regular sport assessment, especially. This was due to the presence of a physical education system in higher educational institutions. That’s why universities are the most important platform for sports activities.

Based on the observations that conducted by the researcher in the field earlier showed that the active daily motion activities of students Senior High School state 10 Padang was very less and was expected to effect the achievement of their health and physical fitness negatively. The purpose of this study was to assess the sports activities of the students of senior High School state 10 Padang. The research used quantitative approach and designed descriptively. Numbers of the population were 854 students which were consist of boy and girl Student Senior High School State 10 Padang. The Sample was taken by Stratified Random Sampling Technique which totally are 129 students. Data was collected by questionnaire, observation and interviews, and analyzed with descriptive techniques. The results of the analysis of student sports activities of the Senior High School State 10 Padang showed that (1) most of students were very participate in sport activities in physical Education learning, (2) most of the students were participate in extracurricular learning, (3)most of the student were participate in exercise activities outside the school structurally, (4) most of the students were participate moderately in sports activities outside the school are unstructured, (5) most of the students had very high active in to sport activities and most of them felt the benefits of Exercise activities. "ABSTRACT. Introduction: In this article, our aim is to examine the main reasons that lead university students to practice less and less physical sports activities. Objective: Identifying the differences that may exist between students who were enrolled at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, in the academic year 2011-2012, and those who were enrolled in the academic year 2019-2020, regarding the reasons that determine them to reduce the time allocated to physical sports activities. Methods: To find out why the level of participation of university students in various physical sport activities is very low, and tends to decrease from year to year, we conducted two studies, the first one in the 2011-2012 academic year (n=880 participants), and the second one, in the academic year 2019-2020 (n=594 participants), and we compared the results obtained. Results: The results of the study show the reasons for today’s short time allocated by students to physical activities and the reasons why they are too busy to play sports. The findings indicate that the main reason why students of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca practice less and less physical sports activities is because they are busier. The overloaded program from university is the main cause why some students have reduced the time allocated to sports activities. Other important factors are the lack of energy and the lack of sport facilities. Conclusions: Increasing educational requirements and reduced leisure time, justify a decrease in students’ interest in participating in extracurricular sports activities. To increase the motivation and future sport adherence of students, it would be necessary for universities and local public authorities to provide a motivational climate for practicing physical activities and sport."
