This aim of this research is to explore and analyze to what extent the strategies to which physical education didacticsin Tunisia contributed to address the duplication of gender stereotypes. A typical approach with binary choiceregression was applied to analyze data obtained from questionnaires completed by 1326 adolescent students (724girls and 602 boys) from Tunisia. Results relieved that sport opportunities are limited by the separate expectations ofmales and females in physical education and sport settings. The analysis reveals that gender stereotypes affect girls'sports activities and that is particularly true for sports suitable for boys. The effect of the appropriated stereotype wassignificantly higher for sports practices perceived as masculine. The research ends with imminent based on thedistinction between gender skills and gender interest and implications for sport activities in order to enhanceparticipation, enjoyment, and wellbeing of people in physical education and sport activities. Many researchers and theoretical scholars have questioned the social-transformative claims of critical pedagogy (CP) in physical education. Most of these criticisms center on its application in physical education teacher education (PETE). Our knowledge of the perspectives and practices of physical education teacher educators (PETEs) who claim to practice CP, however, is still tentative at best; consequently, the reason for its limited success are still largely unknown. To shed some light on this issue, 17 PETEs who claimed to practice critical pedagogy were interviewed at length regarding their definition of CP, including its principles and purposes, and their pedagogical practices. The results show that more than half of the PETEs did not fully understand the main principles and purposes of CP as presented in the literature, and that many of their methods were incongruent with these principles and purposes. This lack of understanding of CP might be an important factor contributing to its limited success in PETE. In view of this, caution and critical reflection are recommended when engaging in this type of pedagogy. Some implications for PETE are provided as well.

Background: ‪The quality of life of people with disabilities is the result of many factors. Apart from health, functional and mental parameters, it is determined by several social conditions. This approach, however, concerns an objective perspective, apart from which there is also a subjective perspective. This is an internal approach that affects the sense of the quality of life, to a limited extent referring to the quality of life itself. Therefore, it can be assumed that the subjective views on the quality of life will be determined by the location in the social context, an example of which is sport activity. The aim of the research was to find out the opinions of disabled athletes about the quality of life in the context of their participation in various forms of physical activities. Material and methods: The research analysis was conducted on 107 disabled athletes and 19 disabled non-athletes. A diagnostic survey method was used with a questionnaire technique. The research tool was the Quality of Life Index, an American scale which belongs to the global category of scales and is composed of a series of questions referring to different areas of life. Results: ‪The results of the survey did not confirm more positive opinions about the quality of life among disabled athletes. The differences between the groups turned out to be statistically insignificant in most cases. Conclusions: ‪Since most of the research results to date indicate a positive impact of regular physical activity on self-esteem and the quality of life, it seems necessary to explore this problem on a larger research sample of people with disabilities.

Not only the worldwire spread, popularity, active participating and its media coverage make sports the social phenomenon of the day. Various aspects of sport make it possible to infl uence the society and visa versa. Th e research of socializing power of sports has traditionally diff ered between socializing into sports, socializing during sports, or through sport and fi nally socializing directly in sports. However nowadays, the width of sport disciplines that involves wide range of physical activities at various intensity levels makes it almost impossible to make any generalizations based on results coming from more sport fi elds (individual, collective) and foremost performance levels (recreational, performance level, top athlete level). Moreover, reasons for getting involved in sport activities can be rather individualized. Th is implies foremost the necessity to off er kids and the youth colourful variety of sport activites in all performance levels.

The purpose of the research is to identify the role of physical culture and sports activities on the practice of students’ self-preservation behavior. The materials: The research was based on an online questionnaire which was held among 2503 students in REU Plekhanov (Moscow) in October 2019 under E. V. Kargapolova leadership. The results: The most common practices of self-preservation behavior are walking outside, physical education classes and regular sports. The most preferable kinds of sports for students were football, basketball and volleyball. The less preferable were Eastern health practices. Nevertheless, only half of students were regularly engaged in physical education activities. Most of respondents consider they are able to make a set of training exercises and a rational diet. Conclusions: There are several contradictions in students’ behavior values of self-preservation and their practices of sport activities. The majority of respondents understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Nevertheless, students do not always follow these practices in their daily routine. There is a strong correlation between their health and regular sport assessment, especially. This was due to the presence of a physical education system in higher educational institutions. That’s why universities are the most important platform for sports activities.

Abstract. As reflected in the literature and current regulations, the training of future physical education teachers on gender perspective is a necessity and a requirement in schools, sports activities, and society. This is essential for the transformation of traditional gender models and relationships, as well as for everything they entail. Therefore, incorporating critical reflection and providing tools for variations should be a mandatory task for teacher-training-focused universities. However, in physical education teacher training, or in Physical Activity and Sports Science education, feelings of rejection and discomfort in relation to gender issues are common among university professors. In order to help teachers overcome these barriers and have tools to develop a gender-sensitive teaching, in this article we present a pedagogical approach to incorporate gender perspective in the training of physical education teachers, as well as a proposal of learning situations that can be applied to this training.
