The primary objective of the study was to describe the extent to which personnel differentiation strategies may be used to gain competitive advantage among Private Tertiary Education Institutions in Botswana. The study examined how personnel differentiation may be employed by private tertiary education institutions in order to achieve competitive advantage. The study used descriptive survey research and the findings revealed that the private universities have to a certain extent employed personnel differentiation strategies. However, institutions have not done enough to clearly stand out as differentiated universities. The study recommends that the universities must appeal to prospective employers; hire, train and retain competent staff, and also get involved in activities that will enhance institutions’ credibility. Institutions need to work together with key stakeholders and continually seek ways to attain competitive advantage through personnel differentiation.

The study was conducted in Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, to investigate the effect of insecurity on quality tertiary education in Nigeria. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of insecurity on quality of tertiary education and to evolve strategies to solve the problem the study was guided by four research questions. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. Five hundred respondents were used for the study. Questionnaire instrument was used to gather data for the study. Mean and standard were used to answer the research questions. The instrument was validated by 3 experts. The reliability index effects of the instrument was 0.78 the study found causes, of insecurity in tertiary educational institutions, and strategies to be employed. Finally, the study made some recommendations to include, full implementation of the suggested strategies.

This study aims to find whether there is influence of knowledge management and information technology on competitive advantage and performance of private universities in Pekanbaru. This research is a survey research with the technique of distributing questionnaires to teaching and employees. The sample used in this study amounted to 320 people consisting of 222 teaching and 98 employees. Hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Square with SmartPLS version 2.0 software. The results of testing of the proposed hypothesis show evidence that knowledge management has an influence on the competitive advantage and performance of private universities in Pekanbaru, but not with the information technology variables that show the results have no effect on the competitive advantage and performance of private universities in Pekanbaru.

The study is intended to explore COVID-19 information seeking and utilization among women in Warri Metropolis, Delta State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was adopted using a self-constructed questionnaire to collect data. Data were analyzed using simple percentages. Findings revealed that a majority of the women need information on COVID-19 preventive measures, followed by causes of the pandemic; Internet is the source of COVID-19 information used by the highest number of respondents, followed by television and social media; a majority of them consider the authority of the source of the information on coronavirus followed by usefulness of the information; a majority access COVID-19 information to enable them identify symptoms of the disease followed by protection against COVID-19 infection while concern for reliability of much of the available information on the pandemic was a major barrier to their utilization of COVID-19 information. It is recommended that effort should be made by government to get mobile network operators to reduce network tariff.

This study examined insecurity as the bane of Nigeria’s socio-economic development. The study adopted a descriptive survey research. The study was guided by two research questions. The participants for this study comprised one hundred and fifty (150) educated people/youth selected from Ona-Ara local government area of Ibadan metropolis. Insecurity as the bane of socio-economic development in Nigeria questionnaire was the instrument used for this study. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts and percentage. Findings revealed that ethno-religious conflicts and unemployment are among the factors responsible for insecurity in Nigeria. Social dislocation, population displacement, disruption of family and communal life are some of the impacts of insecurity on Nigeria’s socio-economic development. It is recommended that government should ensure that social security programme is pursued and systematically implemented to ensure that the populace meets their basic needs.

This study was conducted to determine the level of awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility of selected private school teachers in Camarines Norte, 176 teachers provided the necessary data to accomplish this feat and were done through the administration of questionnaire and interviews to get additional information. The study employed a descriptive survey method of research. The study revealed the following: (1) there are more female respondents than males, 52 percent and 48 percent respectively, 62 percent are 30 years old and younger, which gained the largest concentration. All the respondents have completed tertiary education and 63 percent of the respondents have tenures of 10 years or less. (2) The level of awareness on CSR is highly aware in terms of both ethical and philanthropic areas. (3) The measure that may be formulated in order to still improve and maintain the knowledge, awareness and involvement of corporate social responsibility of the teachers are to keeping purposeful track of the teacher’s core CSR values orientation and regular seminars and workshops aimed to improve the understanding of corporate social responsibility. Based on the findings of the study, it may be concluded that the respondents have ample awareness in corporate social responsibility.

The study examined the extent of Academic Achievement of Day and Boarding Secondary Schools Students in Onitsha Education Zone of Anambra State. Three research questions guided the study and survey research design was adopted. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population of the study consisted 850 teachers within Onitsha Education Zone in Anambra State. The sample size consisted 85 teachers and was selected using simple random sampling. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire and the data collected were analyzed with mean. The findings revealed that boarding students academically achieve better than day students and that day students are distracted at home unlike boarding school students who are under the control of teachers for their study. It was concluded that lack of finance, educational facilities and inadequate infrastructures are the factors that affect the academic achievement of both the day and boarding students. The researchers recommended among others that students should be allowed to attend boarding schools so as to perform better and that government should intervene in schools by providing them with academic and boarding facilities

It has been shown that the bad degradation of ethical conduct in the organization, continuous investigation of the asymmetry between productivity and worker commitment about employment have been satisfied. Results shown in practice could not improve employee performance in different work ethics. The effect of work ethics on employee performance has been explained when employee satisfaction is perceived as a mediator variable. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of unethical behavior on employee commitment and productivity in Nigeria. For the study, a descriptive survey research method was used, with fifty valid questionnaires distributed to employees from five cluster government establishments in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The education sector in Bangladesh has been affected severely by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis like many other countries around the globe. Both the public and private universities faced different types of challenges to continue the teaching-learning process during this time. The chapter has explored these challenges and mitigation strategies based on quantitative and qualitative studies with undergraduate and graduate students of public and private universities. The study has covered both public and privately owned general and engineering universities to explore more specific issues and directives. Moreover, in-depth interviews were conducted with teachers to learn the problems they faced and subsequent strategies to cope with the challenges to minimize these challenges and educational loss. The study identified the infrastructural, technical, psychological, health, educational policy, and financial-related challenges faced by key stakeholders. The study incorporated directives to overcome these challenges and provide guidelines for policymakers at home and abroad.

<p>This study seeks to identify the impact of the application of social responsibility on the creation of a competitive advantage. The study has been applied on Jordanian private universities. 200 copies of the questionnaire were distributed over managers and officials at these institutions. 82% of the 164 questionnaires which were distributed over the study sample ware recovered. A group of social responsibility dimensions represented by the local community, employees, customers (students at private universities), the environment and studying its impact level on the creation of competitive advantage for Jordanian private universities have been focused upon.</p><p>The hierarchical cluster has been used, where universities have been divided into groups. The results show that the first group of private universities uses social responsibility at a high and notable scale, while the second group uses social responsibility at a low scale. The results show that the group using social responsibility at a high scale, its competitive advantage is high, while the second group which uses social responsibility at a low scale, its competitive advantage is low.</p><p>The study demonstrates the importance of social responsibility and the interest of Jordanian private universities to apply it for its positive and clear impact on the creation of a competitive advantage in the market.</p><p> </p>
