Abstract The present article shows the findings of a basic quantitative research of the teachers’ research competence and its influence on higher educational institutions’ (hereafter: HEI) competitiveness on the sample of Kazakh University of International Relations &World Languages after Ablaikhan (hereafter: KazUIR&WL). Using the method of questionnaire, the study investigates the level of satisfaction of the students and parents with the education quality in KazUIR&WL, their needs and expectations, as well as shows the linkage between teachers’ research competence and the quality of education. The research involves 19 teachers, 70 students and 70 parents, who present their opinions by answering both open-ended and close-ended questions. The present research is inductive non-experimental and helps build a strong theoretical platform for generating further research questions. The main purpose of the research is mostly an assessment of the current situation in teaching English in Kazakhstan, with elements of evaluation and description. In this aspect, the current study can become a good scientific background for generating further research ideas in the sphere of education, linguistics, methodology, history, foreign culture studies and others. The method used in the present research is the method of questioning.

The seeming decline in the quality of teachers in Nigeria necessitated this study. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. Four research questions guided the study while three hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The population of the study comprised 323 respondents made up of 240 final students and 83 lecturers in the seven Departments of the faculty of Education Imo State University, Owerri. The entire population was used for the study. A researcher developed questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. The Cronbach’s alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the items and it yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.74. The researchers with the help of four research assistants distributed and successfully collected 298 copies of the questionnaire administered. The research questions were answered using the mean, while the hypotheses were tested using z-test at 0.05 level of significance. It was found among others that pre-observational techniques were used to a very low extent t in Imo state university Owerri for teaching practice supervision. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that conference, workshops and seminars should be organized for lecturers at Imo State University where various techniques of clinical supervision will be exposed to them towards ensuring qualitative teaching practice supervision.

The building of an online survey instrument involves sophisticated understandings of the research context, research design, research questions, and other elements. A lesser observed need is to consider what types of data analytics will be applied to the findings. With beginning-to-end online survey research suites, it becomes all the more necessary to think through the process from beginning to end in order to create an instrument that achieves all the necessary aims of the research. After all, improper online survey instrument designs will result in makework when it comes time to analyze data and will foreclose on particular data analytics opportunities. (Such instruments also will not have second or third uses after the first one-off.) This chapter explores how to build an effective online survey instrument to enable a quantitative cross tabulation analysis with the built-in analysis Qualtrics.

The inclusion of entrepreneurship education to university curriculum is to make the content more functional. However, it seems that entrepreneurship education has not been achieving its objectives in Nigeria. The main purpose of this study was to compare entrepreneurship education in two public universities in Ekiti State. The survey research design was adopted. The sample of the study consisted of 101 lecturers/trade experts from these universities. Two questionnaires were used to collect data. The instruments were validated by two lecturers from Ekiti State University (EKSU) and the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE). The reliability test yielded a coefficient of 0.73. The findings showed that lecture method was mostly used in the two institutions, among others. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended that adequate instructional materials should be provided. Also, the use of field trip is recommended to enable the students to receive first-hand information about these entrepreneurship trades from the appropriate companies/sites/industries, among others.
