The aim of the article is to assess the innovation of the Opole hotel market. The main research method was a diagnostic survey, a questionnaire technique. The research was carried out from April to May 2016. The research was carried out on owners or managers 12 out of 13 hotels located in Opole. Almost 70% of hotels located in Opole have implemented at least one innovation in the last year. The most commonly implemented type were marketing innovations, and the most important source of their financing – own funds. The ability to anticipate changes in the environment, creativity, growing competition and changing preferences of guests are the most important factors stimulating the development of innovation in the Opole hotel market. The main obstacle to this development, however, was limited financial resources. Implemented innovations were usually a consequence of conducting marketing research or generating ideas by employees. The respondents usually also highly rated the level of innovation of their hotels.

Abstract Along with mastery of the grammar and vocabulary of a given language, contemporary students are also expected to acquire intercultural communicative competence (ICC), i.e., the ability to use the language efficiently with regard to the sociocultural background of the communicative situation. This requirement should also be reflected in FL course-books, which are considered to be fundamental didactic tools in FL education, even in an era of information communication technologies. Therefore, the aim of the present paper is to report the results of the research focused on the investigation of intercultural component in the New Opportunities Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate course-book packages. To validate the findings of the content analysis, as the main research method, the method of triangulation was used, i.e., the results of the course-book package analyses were compared with those of observation and interview analyses. The findings of the research revealed that in the investigated course-book packages only some aspects of the intercultural component could be considered relevant because they were suitably treated.

Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate how the city is influenced by the ritual of Muharram. The main research question is: what is the relationship between the city and the ritual of Muharram? To answer this question, we examined different intangible layers of this ritual heritage. This study is based on the three components of the sense of place. The research method is qualitative and a context-oriented approach is adopted. The context of the study is the historical texture of the city of Gorgan, Iran. The data were collected through library research and immediate observation. Next, content analysis and data coding were used to obtain a set of thematic categories. The results suggest that, as a kind of ritual-social behavior, the ritual of Muharram has had remarkable, enduring effects on the city over centuries. The non-urban-development dimension has thus allowed for the formation of sense of place in the relationship between people and the urban environment through a different process.

The article covers the topic of the networked identity that is relevant in the context of the rapid informatization of society and politics. The author considers the display of network elements of political and identification processes during the specific political events taking place in France (the movement of "yellow vests"). The analysis shows at least 2 sustainable approaches to the study of networkization of modern political and identification processes. The first focuses on the emergence of a new type of identity (networked). The second emphasizes not the emergence of a new type of identity (networked), but rather the networkization of existing, established types of identities. The author chooses the case method as the main research method to fulfill the task set in the paper. The author chooses the case method as the main research method and identifies five attributes of the networked identity display during political events related to the movement of “yellow vests” in France: a variety of ideas (and identities) among the participants of the movement; a wide and changing (situational, related to fluctuations in the information agenda) set of requirements; structural de-hierarchization of the movement; the geographically dispersed locations of the protest activity and its longevity.

The article discusses the policy of the municipalities' Heads in relation to entrepreneurs acquiring a political status and deputies with a business background. The Heads strive to maintain a high level of influence within the territory. Entrepreneurs see their entry into legislatures as an opportunity to acquire new social ties, including ones with officials, and as an opportunity to normatively regulate the context of business activities on the territory. Two scenarios of the relations between the Head and businessmen are identified: the cooperation and the conflict. Commonality or conflict of interests of the municipality and local business determine the choice of a strategy. The intensity of conflict or consensus is determined by the measure of support that the parties give each other. The article explores the interaction of Heads with small and medium businesses. The article is based on the results of the research conducted in four municipalities of the Sverdlovsk and Perm Regions. The main research method is interviews with Heads and other actors of local policies.

The main research question in this paper is: how much and what financial resources should be allocated to IT security? This paper analyzes different practices and techniques used to determine the calculation for investments in IT security and analyzes and recommend some suitable methods for deciding how much should be invested in IT security.

The share of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is largely present in forestry, especially in the segment related to non-wood forest products (NWFPs) in Europe. They are also a dominant category in entrepreneurship in Serbia. Therefore, the subjects of this research were the companies operating in the sector of NWFPs, within specific statistical regions of Serbia. The database of SMEs was obtained from 119 SMEs and the share of surveyed SMEs was 81.5%. The main research method was two-step cluster analysis. Questionnaire was used for the purpose of the research. The aim of the research was to identify clusters in order to establish similarities within the defined clusters and the differences among them. Spatial distribution of specific categories of NWFPs in nature (mushrooms, medicinal and aromatic plants, honey and wild berries), contributed to the portfolio of the companies. This largely influenced clusters that are created by categories of products that are typical for certain statistical regions in Serbia.

Broadly defined, culture is deemed the fourth pillar of sustainable development and increasing attention is currently being paid to how it can access all potential financial resources. In Europe, film production benefits from public financial support; however, film projects require large amounts of money to be completed and this support may prove insufficient in comparison with the actual need. This raises the question of identifying alternative financial resources that filmmakers could benefit from. Crowdfunding has recently emerged as a funding option for all the creative-cultural industries in general and for film production in particular. However, Romania’s capacity to use this alternative financial source is one of the lowest in Europe. In this context, the aim of the article is to study Romanian filmmakers’ attitudes towards crowdfunding and its perceived suitability for financing film projects. The research method consists in a survey based on self-administered questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with Romanian film producers. Although the largest majority of film producers have not used crowdfunding due to lack of awareness or scepticism, the paper discusses, based on experts’ opinion, how this method can become a viable source of finance for the film industry.

The characteristic of air pressure field in melt blowing with dual slots was studied. The main research method was the numerical simulation of three dimensional. The results show that the air pressure field is symmetric. There exist two sections: the pressure difference section and the zero-pressure difference section along the whole centerline. In the pressure difference section, there also exist three sub-sections.
