Digital Knowledge Integration (DKI): When Transhumanism (H+) Meets Digital Humanities (DH)

Author(s):
Waliya, Yohanna Joseph

To a large extent, the world has come to embrace digitalization which currently permeates all human endeavors and life. However, the process of digitalizing human beings themselves, making them Transhuman and allowing the integration of the digital into every aspect of our daily life has made life both paradoxically appreciative and problematic as it increases the global nature of humanity and its endeavors, posing threats as well as benefits. Merging Transhumanism (H+) with the Digital Humanities (DH) may minimize those threats but the dual evolving human-technological thoughts have been hoofing at a distance to each other for decades whereas innately they share the same perceptions on the future of the digitalization and human beings. This paper is channeled towards breaking the barriers between the two through the help of the critical comparative lens from the conceptual theoretical framework called Digital Knowledge Integration (DKI) using hypothetic-deductive method of reading two e-literatures: Digital_Humanities by Anne Burdick, Johanna Drucker, Peter Lunenfeld, Todd Presner & Jeffrey Schnapp published in 2012 and The Transhumanist Reader: Classical and Contemporary Essays on the Science. Technology, and Philosophy of Human Future edited by Max More and Natasha Vita-More in 2013 including other literatures as we need them. This research is also aimed at integrating knowledge into singular model and raising scholarly debates on the new development.

Thus, this article was based on bibliographical surveys, readings of laws and electronic articles, where the informative elements were examined with the application of the hypothetical deductive method.

In the difficult times of history, human beings sought a solution to the crisis by using the existing technological facilities outside of the structure used until that day or by further developing the technology. The COVID-19 outbreak, which affected the whole world in 2020, also increased the diversity and use of blockchain applications. The first coronavirus case in China and then declaration of COVID-19 by the World Health Organization as a pandemic caused countries to be extremely unprepared for this epidemic. The fact that the pandemic is felt in almost every area of daily life has forced individuals to digitalize their daily work and habits. In this study, the existing and innovative blockchain applications developed against the epidemic during the pandemic process will be discussed, and possible future opportunities will be mentioned.

In his Introduction to McTaggart's Philosophical Studies, Dr. S. V. Keeling complains that in the interests of a prejudice in favour of science and scientific methods, Russell and his followers have denied the possibility of solving metaphysical problems without giving any philosophical reason for this proscription. And by “metaphysical problems,” Dr. Keeling seems to mean (as against Russell and in agreement with McTaggart) ethical problems about the amount of good and evil in the world, the nature of human beings and their destiny, the hopes of men about immortality, and hence the “ultimate analysis of Time,” etc. Science is not concerned with such problems, and moreover it is the business of philosophy to “justify” induction and cannot itself employ a scientific method. Dr. Keeling therefore urges a return to the rationalism of McTaggart and the attempt to solve such problems by the deductive method. I want to say why this seems to me impossible and why such problems are insoluble unless they can be interpreted empirically and left to the investigation of the special sciences. I shall refer first to the most important feature of present empirical philosophy, then discuss metaphysical and other deductive systems, and finally dispute McTaggart's claim that the Self must be known by acquaintance and not by description, which Dr. Keeling regards, mistakenly, as it seems to me, the final refutation of this part of “positivistic phenomenalism.“ By this procedure I do not intend to justify or defend analytic philosophy but merely to re-compare its method with that of McTaggart.

Without water human being cannot survive. Natural resource in form of water is so precious that a day without water is not possible. A resource like water is becoming scarce day by day and the brunt of it is being felt throughout the world. A challenge is there in front of the world today that, how to make proper utilisation of these valuable commodity in form of water which is so scare. The UN world water development report also states that, lack of potable water is affecting millions of people and availability of potable water is reducing at an alarming rate. A humans livelihood depends on water. No access to water will be considered as denial of basic human rights. There is no explicit provision mentioned under Indian Constitution, water as a fundamental right. Indian judiciary time and again through its various judgements have recognised the importance of water in human daily life. Thereby have made water as basic human right which every citizen of India should enjoy which is interpreted under Article 21 of Indian Constitution. The State is duty bound to protect and to provide adequate potable water and also to protect water sources from getting polluted and encroached. Article 21 has a wider scope wherein health, disease free and a pollution free environment, providing sanitation, basic facilities etc. are also considered as basic rights. But in reality these basic human needs are often neglected and much less is done to counter these problems. The situation of availability of potable water is so serious and grave that if human beings do not take positive steps in conserving and protecting water in the coming five years the situation will be such that in many countries people will die due to non-availability of water. This paper is an effort to understand and point out the role played by water in a daily life and steps that man-kind should take to protect and preserve this important resource which nature has given us

Human beings have recognized that the philosopy of “Utilization of natural resources for economic reasons disregarding the need for replenishing these resources” would overexploitate all the natural resources in the world and realized that we must live by adapting to the nature in the modern 21st century. This new development model is known as “Sustainable development”. The model is being implemented by many nations in the world regardless of whether they are big or small, developed or under developed. The “Sustainable development” model includes educational and development requirements that countries need to address in order to follow the model.This paper presents our hypothesis on the economic development model that fulfills the above requirements gipro-economics and documents the results of our research on this hypothesis.

Mültecilerin Filistin’den ayrılırken yanlarına aldıkları anahtar, tapu ve toprak gibi nesnelerin saklanıyor olması, Filistin’e olan bağlılığın devam ettiğinin işaretlerinden biridir.ABSTRACT IN ENGLISHPalestinian refugees’ lives in MersinIn the history of Palestine, 1948 and 1967 wars have caused fleeing of thousands of Palestinians to other countries.
